Not all of them are necessarily racist, just mislead. I mean, purely numerically speaking, the police have killed more white people than black people, and the actual discrepancy only becomes apparent once you factor in actual population distribution. This is how you get people like that statistician on your last BLM post.
Other people simply can't think two steps ahead, like when they believe that systemic racism doesn't exist because black people account for 50% of all crimes, therefore it makes sense that they're targeted more by the police, when in reality that statistic is actually caused by systemic racism. (Not to mention the "guilt by association" bullcrap going on in that reasoning.)

To give you some perspective, I've only seen the abortive breaking-off of profiling. One of my vehicles is an classic Lexus sports coupe refitted with huge rims and low-profile tires, not usual for this area. More than once, facing a cop at a stoplight, I've seen the cop glance at the big rims, then quickly look up and through the windshield with the beginnings of suspicion, only to see it vanish into "Oh, nevermind", then resuming scanning traffic when they see a white dude driving.

I have NO doubt that if it were a black man, they'd find some excuse to stop and search the car. Because it's happened to a black neighbor, Porsche stopped by cops repeatedly to "make sure it was his car".

They aren't dense, they just pay attention and learn about the world around them. It's more dense to ignore reality.

Purely numerically speaking in absolutes, yes, the amount of white people killed by the police is higher than black people.
However, in relation to the % of the population these demographics make up, black people are killed about 4 times as often as they should be comparatively to white people. Take for example 2019. 370 white people killed by police as opposed to 235 black people. White people make up 60% of the population, black people 13%. Now yes, again, in absolute numbers, more white people were killed, but 370 out of 60% is, relatively, MUCH lower than 235 out of 13%. That's what people refer to when they say black people are killed more often than white people.


Also, the 50% of all crimes claim is false. It's 50% of all violent crimes. And far as I recall the stats, the majority of that is gang-related, too.

Thing is, though, you can be racist without meaning to be. You can be ignorantly racist. So even if it's not meant or mislead, it's still racist and can still be damaging. That's why I try not to hate immediately, because I attribute more to lack of knowledge than malicious, but still speak out because it's still bad and hurtful and needs to change.
