Distancing from FA --> Lewdbeans on Twitter

⭐️ be rootin, be tootin, and by god be shootin ⭐️ Hey everyone, long time no chat! Hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy and happy. Here in pidge-land, I'm rolling into Fall trying to focus my efforts on Patreon, Comms and a super special comic that will be debuting before the end of the year!
I'm starting to be a lot more active on Twitter, so I'd like to direct you there for more content, WIP's, stream announcements, commission openings, etc. I may actually start distancing myself away from FA (surprising no one at this point). Between some of their practices, the archaic and unreliable infrastructure, etc, I just don't feel like it's serving my purposes as much. I'll continue to post final pieces on here in little upload dumps, but communication will no longer be in Notes. God, the notes system is BAD.

It's always unfortunate to see an artist leave.
I get it, there's instant gratification in retweets and likes for a day, maybe two. But after that the image is lost to the timeline, and good luck to any new followers trying to look back at your gallery past a few pages.
Same with any kind of art related information posts, be it open commissions or just a quick update. For the normal twitter user these things are so easy to miss and especially with twitter's weird algorithm of deciding what it thinks you want to see.
That's not even mentioning twitter's horrible image compression and thumbnail cropping.
Honestly best of luck on your journeys, but just anything but twitter. It's not an art website.
i really dont get why those two sites are never an alternative they have things that function better and working tag filters twitter isnt an art gallery
Twitter is trash
Because watching and existing on Twitter has been a horror. Any time I went on there, there was harassment (not to me, but in general to everyone. Saw an artist being harassed for not liking cauliflower). And it's horrible as a watcher since I never saw the content of the people I watched since their algorithm is very heavy and prefers sharing content from people I don't even follow. Was pelted with many things I didn't want to see.
So I urge to cross-post plz. Or pick up another gallery site as well. Postybirb covers a butt-ton of them.
For communication, I totally agree FA notes suck. Bit may I suggest a dedicated email instead. Something that everyone will have?
And yeah, FA is just shite these days - the main page is littered with so much spam that it's impossible for any user to properly display their artwork.
I kinda wanted to follow you there on your twitter but there's too much porn and stuff for my taste
in your twitter there so I thought I at least follow you here to see less of that.
And like other's have said here. Twitter is kinda hard to look and find around at people's art
and gallery so it would be hard to find what art you have just posted unlike sites like FA on here.
You might use Fediverse/Mastodon as an alternative, and XMPP for messages and chats
