Looking back - the best of macro furry artwork, Vol. I
5 years ago
From time to time, I like to scavenge the favourites section of my FurAffinity and DeviantArt accounts, and save the pictures which have struck me the most to my hard drive.
Iāve been having this habit for years and, after all this time, a hefty collection of macro and crush fetish porn has been collected in my files, naturally.
The idea of making a ābest ofā compilation of macro furry artwork has been percolating for some time now, and after a few hours revisiting my macro furry personal museum, Iāve picked up 10 pieces to kick off this series.
Each pick might feature more than one drawing, if I want to highlight a multi-artwork concept or a section from a comics, as I do here. The 10 entries are not ranked in any way (except for the first one, which is a personal favourite), and so Iāve ordered them in alphabetical order of the artworkās title.
The point of sharing this with you is: 1) For mindless fun. It was a joy to spend some quality time with these hundreds of drawings toiled by the hard-working artistsā of our fandom, and revisit some old masterworks I had almost forgotten about; 2) To spark some debate among us, why you might agree or disagree with my picks and, perhaps, share some of your old favourites as well :) ; 3) To rescue, even if only temporarily, some of these pieces from the crushing steps of time, which grind everything on its way. And, who knows, perhaps let some of you discover a great drawing which you might not have seen yet?
Anyway, thank you for reading and I hope you like it. :)
The [#.unspecified] series, by
infectedCanine (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18991642/)
Iāll start off with my favourite macro furry drawings of all time. The concept behind these 7 pictures seems quite simple ā giant feral wolves and dogs rampaging through our puny world, stepping on and devouring all the tiny worthless humans they find in their way. All portrayed in grim, nilihist gray and black, the [#.unspecified] drawings look to me like the storyboards to the perfect horror kaiju film, in the vein of the original 1954 āGojiraā. Dark and simple ā thatās how I like it best.
"A Foot Crater I" by
modem_redpill &
zimskunk (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/21042535/)
The perfect foot over the perfect background. I love lions, I love mega giants, I love feet, so I couldnāt help but add this drawing to the list. Boy, isnāt that a gorgeous foot?
"Day of the Macro Jackal", by
RipRoarRex (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/3208126/)
Old favorite of mine from my early years in the fandom. I'm pretty sure most of you are, at least, acquainted with this masterpiece. I still find it quite striking, so many years after, and easily the best macro Anubis drawing ever done!
"Emergence" by
xtreme7 (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10079798/)
I know Xtreme7ās technique has refined and improved a lot since he made this drawing. Iām aware there are dozens of submissions from his extensive macro mayhem output which I could pick and insert in this list instead of āEmergenceā, but the 2nd panel of this single-page comics is still one of my favourite things in the macro furry realm. The realization of what is just about to happen to those hundreds of innocent beach-goers still sends me a chill of sadistic delight down my spine, as few other drawings are able to do.
"Emily in da city" by
Miles-DF (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13784853/)
Who doesnāt know Emily by now? The music-loving giant vixen is quite fond of flattening some cities under her stompers to the beat of her headphones. The most recurrent character of
yellow07ās rooster was surprisingly awarded a Daily Deviation at DeviantArt with this drawing of hers, and so a gilded seat was put to her at the table of the Giant Furry Gods.
"Fresh Pawprint" by
Haff (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27947175)
I knew this drawing would become an instant classic since the first time I saw it. What a breath-taking point of view of the precise moment that mountainous jaguar foot is lifting off the city! What just a second ago was a vibrant urban landscape brimming with life, has now been pressed flat and pulverized into a dead, sprawling waste. The detail in this piece is amazing and the apocalyptic consequences of a single giant step have never been so well portrayed as in this drawing.
"Lost Golden Staff of the Dragon Queen" (pp. 61-66) by
DragonessLife (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/11028542/)
Markie left the crush fetish fandom some years ago, but his epic 80-page coloured comics is still available for your reading delight in his gallery. Brimming with hard vore and crush scenarios in every conceivable way, the pages highlighted above have always been my favourite ones, and I still come back to revisit them regularly. Iāll spare you the details to avoid any spoilers ā if you havenāt yet, do yourself a favour and indulge in the macro macabre pleasures of āLost Golden Staffā!
"The Rampage" (pp. 1-2) by
5-D (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/14535802/)
Like it or not, no Hollywood movie has veered closer to macro furry (or, in this case, scaly) crush fetishism than 1998's "Godzilla" (or "Zilla", for some). And no one in the fandom recreates better the big lizard's penchant for underfoot destruction than 5-D. His "The Rampage" comics is a landmark take on everything fetish based on this incarnation of the King of the Monsters, and I love to see those puny bugs popping under those huge dino toes. Serves them just right!
"Snack Bowl" by
macroceli (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/15374275/)
If youāre walking through macro furry grounds and havenāt crossed Macroceliās path so far, you surely have been living under a rock...literally. The big, goofy dinosaur seems to mean no harm to the little denizens of the cities he visits...he just wants to feast on a little snack >:) This time, he found a whole bowl of them, and is bound to step in the game. The way the stadiumās stand is collapsing under his big belly is somberly realistic, contrasting with the cartoony tone of the rest of the drawing. I really dig this kind of contrasts!
"Sunset over the city" by
scream (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/33340699/)
Again, pinning down Scream's outstanding output to a single work is an unfair task, but I gotta give it to this big bad vix of his. A quite recent upload, but in my view one of his most accomplished creations. A true feast for the eyes, and for the... :^)

I do wonder how many drawings have already been lost to time. Seems like the macro community is young enough that most of the artists are still alive and active, most of the websites are still up, etc. But occasionally I come across some collection of good art that I've never seen before.
Hope the late reply doesn't bother you too much :3
I'm happy you generally agree with my selection :) Regarding Markie's work, it's not that odd that you don't find it much appealing. I myself am not that turned on by it in general, despite the section I've highlighted above being one of my favourite crush fetish scenarios. And this is no judgement to the man's talent, of course (which is even more impressive given his hearing impairment).
You are right, the macro community is not that old, but I think it has already been running for long enough, and it has grown big enough for some worthy things start to get lost in the fog...and the fact some memorable artists have interrupted their work in the fandom, even though they're still alive and active, and the scattering of macro/crush art through various websites, etc., that might not help in keeping things fresh in our collective macro memory.
