Changes and How This Affects You!

Hi guys! Anyone else as excited about it being fall as I am?!
Summer has been brutal.
I wanted to make the small announcement that for those of you that have not heard, the corporate people for my job decided to make some budget cuts and decided that they no longer needed me. No biggie, it hurt at first because I had been with the company for over 4 years. They did give me a package deal as a send off so I'm taken care of for the next couple of months, but it also lands me right around the time where places are hiring seasonal. Looking around now it has technically already started. SO I figured, why the heck not, let me try to float until the new year and hope that 2021 will treat me better than this year.
Currently I have started making soaps. Yaaaas guys, you have no idea how long I've been wanting to do this for and now that I have time to do so it has been a REAL learning experience. Plus selling my soaps on the side as made me kind of want to start up a small hobby business that I have aptly named Little White Lyes (you can find my page on FB under this name). Starting this is a real challenge, I hope to one day have enough inventory to be able to go to farmers markets, festivals, etc. I know it is a challenge this year due to Covid, which is why I had started up my page on FB to hopefully build a following. Once I get enough inventory started I will be able to work on my Etsy page that is.... currently... collecting dust. Eventually I would like to spread out and do other crafty things such as sugar scrubs and bath salts/soaks... and maybe some really nice signs and wreaths for your doors but I have to start somewhere :) I've been wanting to do creative things that are a little more hands on and hopefully I've found a little niche to hang on to for the time being.
What this also means is that soon I will be offering a few YCHs for you guys! I am currently working on a reference sheet for someone, but I do want to be able to do some commissions for you guys since I currently have the time to do so.
I have been so stressed and worried about my day job and now that I no longer have that stress weighing on my shoulders, I want to be able to have fun and reconnect with others in creative outlets.
I am fully aware that this will not be a permanent thing as art has never really been a stable job for me (I'm so slow haha) but I will need the help through the holidays. I do not want to resort to begging for donations as I am stubborn and believe in earning money (even if it meant working myself to death). The BEST thing to come out of this is that I do not have to worry about the holiday season at my company where they hire 100+ people seasonal, constantly, and all the stress I had to deal with my job duties in the addition to working 50+ hours a week for nearly 2 months straight. Like I said, I was upset at first, but now I've come to realize it is a blessing in disguise and that I literally have a world of choices in front of me.
Let's have some fun! :D
