How does it start? When does it end?
Warning: just a bit of a vent journal ahead. I just need to get these thoughts out and wanted to share them with anyone who cares.
I haven't recently posted anything to this account... but not for lacking of wanting.
I have a number of commissions that were done over the past while, as well as several adopts (to be new characters or to fill in the blanks on existing ones) that I purchased which I should put up to share.
But how?
I wish I had a new tale to tell. I have worked on at least 3 stories since the pandemic started, and a couple have a good deal of content. I just can't bring myself to finish them; I'll sit in front of my laptop to write - and then let myself get dragged down a distraction hole, until it's sucked the motivation dry and an hour has passed.
I'm someone who writes best when he's inspired. But Inspiration is fickle with her attention, and fleeting. She never stays long when She visits. Even if She gives me the full story to tell, and I know how it goes, it's still another thing to write it all down and then spend some time polishing it.
The only thing I've managed to complete in the past year was taken one of my existing stories and changing up the ending to give a different twist for my own personal gratification (sorry, this one's not being posted.) It was something, at least... but apparently not enough to sustain me or to get me going again.
Reiver's Legacy isn't done, and I'm not giving up on my tales - not by a longshot. It's the curse of being stubborn: I won't say it's over, but how do I drag myself forward until the stone begins to role again?
How do I court sweet Inspiration to come dance with me? Or do I simply dance alone until She comes around again?

Thank you, this definitely helps!
My gimmickiest advice is to try to stick with in medias res, and then don't worry about what came before. Preparation and scene construction can be so hampering, that just skipping all that and jumping straight into the fun part can sometimes get the pistons firing again.
Sometimes I do use that technique, I admit: writing down notes on the progression I expect the story to follow, but then skipping the narrative to when something lewd or exciting happens and trying to use that to get me going. It can be mildly successful... maybe it's something I should try to do more. I just have to get started earlier when I do, so I don't run out of time
Also if you wanna pad out your gallery with the transcript of the Star Riever story we did a while back, I'd be for it. Fun stuff!
Also I have another advice. Try to find your "sources". I call "sources" different parts of cartoons, writings and films that I like to rewatch sometimes. For example when I want to get aroused very fast, I watch the part of "Django Unchained" where he hungs bound and nude after capture. That helps me to come up with some ideas for my short stories.
As for the CYOA... I'm not sure. While I agree, there likely would be a good amount of suggestions, I generally don't have problems plotting out my stories - at least at a high level. The problem is fleshing out the content once I've got the structure written down. It's like "Ok, got all the bullet points of how things go... that's it, we're done!" (no, we aren't...
I dunno. It might be worth a try if only to do something new and see how it goes. Dee and I did one of these via DMs a few years ago that I'm going to be posting soon, although he did most of the writing there. I'll see if I can come up with a starter concept for it and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the idea!
