Game Idea - Metroid Hopps
Had a few different things in mind and a bunch of ideas starting clicking together... Like a bunch of lego bricks!
So take Judy Hopps, maybe diel the design slightly back into the feral side and make her a hare. Put this new Judy Hare onto a spaceship with her own power armor like with Metroid. Then try adding in elements to make a reason for a game happening there. Mixing in inspiration from the likes of Alien, Resident Evil and Prey.
-Gameplay-
That as the framework, now some gameplay details which makes this all interesting. There is a reason I choose Hare over Rabbit. In my eyes, a hare would have greater movement abilities than a rabbit. I picture a character quite agile and fast. A character who could jump on the spot to great heights, easily wall jump. Probably could make their way up an empty elevator shaft if need be.
Yet she is fast, and can get faster with an idea of a "sprint" button which makes her even faster with the drawback of not being able to attack. Her limber body isn't good at taking hits from enemies. On her own, her playstyle would be a survival horror-like. However, here's where the Metroid inspiration comes in. Her power armor suit is where her firepower is at. True, it's slower and heavier to play with, this suit is the key for advancing the game. Pieces of the game would revolve around navigating this suit around, upgrading it and possibly repairing it.
One idea is getting in and out of the suit. What could that bring? How about it being faster to take off the armor than putting it back on? Perhaps it can be "Add-on" type armor instead of a full suit, like Samus's armor. What if when you are in battle and HP is dangerously low, you can bail from the suit and use the character's speed to flee? Having you come back later to put the suit back on when the danger is gone. The power armor could take noticeably more time to put on too. So you can't just put it on with a bad guy right behind you. Idea is to find a mixture of both Survival horror and run and gun horror ideas.
-Characters-
Well, I went over the "Hare Hopps" idea. I think I see here as one within an organization. Unsure if of military, government or from a company. One thing is for certain, she worked hard to get to where she is now. Could mean her position, or reputation, or both. She is in a position where rabbits/hares don't normally occupy, or the place she's in doesn't recognize a hare's talents. Might be a normal thing for others to call her a rabbit not getting a hare and a rabbit differ.
As for the other characters in the world. Unsure of rather I picture them being humans and Hare Hopps is an alien to them. A mixture of human and alien/animal, or just all alien/animal creatures. If in the case of all animal characters, rabbits would be more tech guys or generally occupy less physically demanding roles.
-Plot or events-
Since this game idea as a whole came to me just now, I don't know what kind of plot there would be. I'd want to figure out something that stands out, which maybe tricky being that there are so many existing space game stories out there. Maybe I'd lean more on the idea of the plot being in progress when you start the game. Like the game not starting at ground zero. Perhaps the thing coming to wreck the place has been on its way for a while. Maybe find some sort of twist to the protagonist/antagonist angles. If a company or government is involved, what twist could be had there?
That's it for now. Just thought I post and archive the idea here.

Sounds intriguing, especially about making the player keep the pros and cons of armored vs up armored in mind and thinking on the fly of which to use to progress.

It sounds like fun, would be interesting. Having it pre-dominantly aliens or furries sounds way more fun to me, too
