Honestly I enjoy conventions, though one in particular is better than the others, and I mainly do so because some I know online attend the same convention for games, hanging out, and just having fun walking around the area. Sometimes "Con Crud" does happen, and drama sometimes can affect a change in rules in the con, but overall I enjoy it. They've had to cancel twice because of the big COOF, and now seeing stuff like this makes me wonder just how long it'll be before the con I love becomes unrecognizable.

We should all go register now and see if they actually research attendees as they say they plan too. I've never been banned froma con before and getting banned from that one would serve as a badge of honor. (no, I'm not actually suggesting doing that, this was meant as a joke).

Also, if the reverse were done at a con, would it be ok with people? See, I used to think that the issue was as simple as saying that with every group of people there will always be a few "trouble makers" that spoil it for every one. If your open to every one, you get every one, including bad actors and unfortunately its human nature to focus on the bad instead of the good. Say most people at a con behaved themselves and had fun while the con itself raised a bunch of money for a worth while charity, but a handful of bad actors wrecked the hotel; which of these things do you think you'll see reported most prominently online?
I'm not going to say we don't all go through a rebellious destructive stage in our youth and the majority of folks at a con are of the younger end of the spectrum (under 25) but I'm thinking its less about youthful angst and more society in general as people have less respect for others or their property and little to no sense of right or wrong or responsibility. Kage started AC one year with a speech at opening ceremonies where he directly told people not to act the fool, specially when the new crews were present and that we ALL represented the fandom so the worst of us would be what people saw. There is an upcoming convention called Harvest Moon Howl Fest premiering on October 22-24 2022 at Camp Ramblewood, a campsite in Maryland (so this will be an outdoor con). It is called a "BIPOC-led furry convention" suggesting those running it are BIPOC, or majority BIPOC (looking at the head staff, one is indeed white). They do have a website and a Twitter account.

I couldn't find anything on their site, their Twitter account or the accounts of the people running it that states white people are not welcome. The picture in the YiffInHell sub doesn't include the person's actual Twitter handle and I can't seem to find anything regarding 'rasin blm'. So this is either a joke, or a troll most likely.

I got that too, or possibly the account/post quickly deleted. Then again, the fandom does have its share of loose cannons and shoot from the hip without forethought types . ("I'm gonna punch me some Nazis!" ring a bell? That phrase got a bunch of people in hackles and a con cancelled.)
