We shouldn't mark everything NSFW, we should ban minors
4 years ago
Nonsexual kink art shouldn't be marked NSFW and FA should be 18+ to join.
AND/OR, this website needs more filter settings than NSFW on and off.
I don't wanna have to turn off the NSFW filter to see the clean inflation and stuff I'm here for, and see penises and nipples along with it. I am not the only asexual person who is disgusted by sexual content.
But the NSFW filter is all we have. I doubt this flintstones-ass website is ever gonna have more advanced filters. It'd be a viable solution, but this place thinks 1280 is a big number for a PNG's dimensions in 2021. The rules disallow uploading 1080p images, in 4k times. It just seems unlikely that anything mechanical will ever change.
So barring that, can we make FA 18+? Why isn't it?
Well, let's be realistic: minors are still gonna get in and see whatever it is they want, allowed or not. Puberty comes before adulthood. Teenagers, of any type, look at porn, or their equivalent. It's a thing. Outwardly, as a culture, we try to discourage that. In practice, this enforces that they do it secretly and alone, which I think? probably? is the best we're gonna get... Trying to actually stop them, though, is probably not healthy for anyone involved.
Our responsibilities as adults are to not talk to minors about these things (preferably to not talk to minors on the internet at all), to disengage if we suspect someone who says they're over 18 actually isn't, and to keep an eye on other adults to keep them from engaging with minors. And this is something we must be mindful of, all the time, even when minors are supposed to not be somewhere, because, I repeat:
they're still gonna get in. It is impossible to stop. I think the best that can be done is to ban 'em if anyone finds out, so that they lurk, talk to no one and are talked to by no one until they are of age. Can you honestly tell me that anything else would work any better?
And some of those lurking minors are gonna be asexual though, and will come here wanting to see inflation or TF because a Nintendo game made them feel weird. They will come, because no rule and no filter is a magical barrier that will stop them. And when they do, do you want them to not be able to filter out the penises and nipples?
Well?

If the mentality of clean inflation falls under nsfw, then you might as well as say other things like fat furs, tf, hypno, and even clean vore would all be nsfw. People need to understand that if you're afraid of minors, then ya shouldn't put yourself in a position it can happen. Of course it can be by accident. More so, everyone is just up in arms because they somehow see a kink as flat out porn. Anything can be porn in that logic then because people have weird tastes. People can see something completely nonkink based and feel funny about it. Hell, Rule 34 creates porn of anything but how the hell did someone get there? They saw something normal and their imagination took off with it.
Regarding the whole NSFW nonsexual kink art. Yes, there's plenty of kink art that's perfectly safe and clean without all the body parts being on display. It's SFW, or else the people would have to point at various cartoons and shout the same thing. But I highly doubt they'll be doing that anytime soon.
You state that such subjects are fetishy to an extent, but does that not actually apply for pretty much anything? You could pretty much say "I can't believe that character got hands and feet" because there exist people with a foot or hand (or here paw fetish). Over my time in the creative community I met people who might all have their own way of how certain things trigger them. And sometimes I'm surprised of what unique interests there exist. I find it rather is interesting also that people all see something in their own uniqe way.
But in the end, that's for me at least the thing: We all in the end are happy that we aren't just a carbon copy from one another and I think the quirky nature of being unorthodox shows that people can be weird and different. And that should not be treated as just one side of the spectrum.
To me cartoonism just as anime and the interest in furry characters should not define itself by judging everything harshly and instead also being able to see that you can take such all in a casual and innocent way, too. Because just like anime isn't just hentai, like how Furries aren't just defined by things like kinks, such arts are also not defined by such standards and should make it clear that intially the artists draw what made an impression on them. We should be able to see each other's points.
My personal boundaries aren't going as far as to tell every person around to abide to my personal believes which in this case are: Creating art is about being creative and being creative is about having fun to do sometimes things that look unorthodox. I don't think that any of said content harms anybody and is just fun'n'fantastic algamations of thinking outside the things limited to real life.In that regard I appreciate and respect all the things that we can negotiate and exchange about, and when I personally find subjects on FA, I rather look at what inspired people and in what way such subjects in general can be enjoyed.
About what is suitable or not for minors to see, I feel will be a debate that will keep going on for eternity around the globe still, and we all will keep having our different viewpoints in regards how we feel it may affect them. I can really only judge by myself and the people I've met.
I don't think I possess any fetishes but just find animated characters and the many shapes they come in cool and am happy when people don't mind me seeing things just casual. Perhaps other people, especially minors just find it fun because of the silly shapes and in general cartoon physics connected to a drawn character. From flattening, to melting, popping, modular, growing shrinking, etc., it all might be interesting and just because one sees all such changes. And change really also always happens in our life, so that's likely why to me it seems natural in its own regard, its own fantastic reality. =3
Anyways, has been a nice exchange. Have a nice weekend yet.
Totally agree, especially on the ace thing.
