Back swingin! Skvader news!
Quick personal update - [Medical] - Got my tonsils out earlier this year and I also caught covid, then I had more surgery very recently, but it's over now! All good! I feel like my health is going in the right direction. This year has been a busy one for me, but I am still hopeful.
I am still undecided on my commission pricing, BUT, I'm willing to try something a little different out! Salty's decided to start posting adoptable sales here and there, but with a consistent theme!
Whereas some people have unicorns or dragons as their go-to animal of whimsy and fantasy, something that inspires imagination for them or gives them a sense of calm, I have skvader. What are skvader you ask? Well, LINK! I feel like it's a fairly obscure animal, and I'm hoping to put it into the light by making skvader character adoptables!
I really debated with myself about using the skvader as a base type for a 'closed species' kind of thing, but I realize in doing that I stifle creativity that way, and my goal really is to just see skvader get a little more furry community attention.
I do have some personal lore on the anthro skvader I create. Whether you follow it is up to you, but it's just innocent fun for me:
--A skvader is born to two rabbit parents spontaneously among a regular litter. They are born of an excess of pure joy and their coats/colors are representative of the little enjoyable things their parents partake on a day to day basis. Skvader don't typically inherit the coats of their parents unless the parents' daily joys are profoundly and predominantly about each other. Skvader colors reflect drinks or desserts, other animals, an explosion of color representing an emotion, a flag, a flower, a video game, etc. The possibilities are endless. Whatever brought the parents joy!
--A skvader is rabbit or hare from the waist up, bird (usually grouse) from the belly down, with wings that can be either vestigial or flight-capable. They have five fingers on each hand, and three toes on each foot. They lack hind toes and fighting spurs, as skvader are born from excess joy, they do not fight. Being clever, bright creatures they learn how to disarm, but they strongly oppose aggressive fighting! A skvader born from the love of a good spar, however, is a little different. Skvader occasionally have feather tufts on the ends of their long ears.
--Skvader do not breed true, even skvader X skvader will just breed more rabbits unless the parents are deeply content and have something to share with the world. The skvader is a spontaneous being, a sudden explosion of happiness manifested randomly by the powers that be, you cannot predict a skvader baby!
--Skvader can be as medieval or as modern as you want them to be!
Feel free to question me if you want more thoughts on anthro skvader. I still have a few. :> This is just a small passion-project for me to keep the creative juices flowing, me sharing with everyone else something that gives ME joy.
