Going to be in Dallas TX next month
General | Posted 10 years agoThe title says it all! I'm gonna be there for a few days for work stuff. If anyone is in the area, would be cool to meet up and chill for a while. I'll be there probably October 25-30. Either that or tips on great stuff to do there is much appreciated as well! :3
End of an era - passing of Satoru Iwata
General | Posted 11 years agoRIP Satoru Iwata, condolences to his family.
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2015/150713e.pdf
Im not sure where Nintendo is going from here, Iwata led the strategic goals of the company and things will be more uncharted from here on out. Maybe Reggie will take the helm as an interim President until a Japanese leader is elected by the board, but I guess we will see.

Real estate get!
General | Posted 11 years agoFeeling pretty good at the moment, I just signed all the paperwork and handed over the downpayments for an apartment in Vancouver that I'm buying. I've been through many huge steps in my life, but this one feels pret-ty big too, that's for sure! It's not even built yet, but when it is, it's gonna be great. Stoked~
Now I just have to address the incomprehensibly large amount of work that I have to get done over the next few months =p sorry to everyone that I haven't been able to chat to much, lately. Just so many things going on. I appreciate your patience~

1. What is your name?
Bryn!
2. Do you know why you were named that?
Well, my parents wanted to give me a different name, so they drew upon inspiration from my namesake, Bryn Terfel, some Welsh opera singer. Not that they ever listened to opera or anything. So yeah, my answer is "yes" =p
3. Single or taken?
Single mang
4. Have any abilites or powers?
Other than knowing how to semi-MacGuyver some things, since I work as an engineer, not really
5. Stop being a Mary Sue!
And you get out of fan-fiction x3
6. What's your eye colour?

7. How about hair colour?

9. Oh? How about pets?
None that I personally have! My family has a cat and chickens back in Australia, though.

I like to hit da gym, play video games and watch my favourite tv shows, when I get the chance. Also hanging with friends in general is pretty rad.
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?

13. Ever ... killed anyone before?
And FA is the best place to confess such a burden on one's soul

Nope, I work at a university though =p I plan to go back and study a PhD in the not-too-distant future too

It's a good time to be a gamer
General | Posted 11 years agoAt least if you're interested in gaming news, with a focus on Nintendo, it's a good time for it! Over the last few weeks, we've seen major news or leaks on games including:
Smash Bros (character roster leak)
Mario Kart 8 (DLC pack content leak)
Hyrule Warriors (soundtrack features going around)
Pokken (confirmation finally!)
A variety of other Pokémon stuff
Now we just need news on Xenoblade Chronicles: X and we're good to go~
Also crazy League update that took me by surprise today, what. That was pretty cool. Riot decided that a coat of new paint was more important than fixing server issues, but it's something x3

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
General | Posted 12 years agoJust wanted to extend a thank you to everyone here who contacted me via many methods to wish me a happy birthday! Was a pleasant surprise to see things around here, or logging on to Skype tonight and seeing messages from 20 or so people. I really appeciate it~
Things have been crazy busy for me lately, but I hope to be back more within the near future. At least for a while before things get crazy busy again x3 things like travelling for work, family coming to visit, travelling to see friends, but that can wait for another time!

New toy!
General | Posted 12 years agoGot a new toy this week, had some training with it and good to go~
Toy at wooooork, of course! Silly everyone. Any suggestions as to what I should use it for? :3 I'm not used to working in the world of high-speed dynamic systems, so some things so far have been weird!

Smash-ing Experience! (New Smash Bros)
General | Posted 12 years agoIn general, this E3 was pretty good omg. Got the chance to play the new Smash Bros yesterday, it was really interesting to get a snapshot of the games development and get a general feel for it overall! Interestingly, some of the recent tweaks that Sakurai mentioned made their way into the demo version, others however, didn't. There was some unexpected bugs and crashes that happened, but overall, it was really great.
I tried Villager, Greninja, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer and Luigi, some on the Wii U version and some on Smash Run mode on the 3DS version. They were all quite unique, some really big fundamental differences, that created great variation. Overall, I think I felt more at home with Greninja. Pressure characters are so fun to use and he's right in the thick of it. I really want to get good with Wii Fit Trainer though, much troll :B
Did anyone else get a chance to play the games around North America? Either way, any ideas on who you'd like to main?

Calgary-goose~
General | Posted 12 years agoRound two! Here for a different work thing, nothing planned outside of that. Any suggestions or recommendations of things to do and see would be rather swell :3
Seattle-goose!

3DS Friend Codes and recommendations
General | Posted 12 years agoI hadn't touched my 3DS in the oh-so-longest time, but recently my interest in it has been revived! That is, thanks to this fantastically cute Yoshi XL model I just got~ It's so much nicer than the original model.
So yeah, if anyone would like to exchange friend codes to play games sometime, let me know here, send a note or whatever you'd like! I've also been out of the 3DS as even for a while, so I'm open for any game recommendations~

Back in Canaderp
General | Posted 12 years agoFinally have a chance to sit down and catch my breath for a few hours while I wait in Vancouver airport. Really, it only feels like 2014 begins for me now since everything has been so continuous up until now.
Like everyone else, goals and desires for 2014 are a thing~ among them for me are to legit get back into drawing. I had some good momentum at the beginning and then kinda just ... Stopped =s discovering that it's easier to pay others to draw things for you didn't help, herp.
So getting back into drawing is definitely gonna be a thing! Plus amongst work, trying to develop a side business of mine, sorting through permanent residency stuff here and starting my PhD at the same time as I work are all on the to-do list. 2014 is already looking busyyyyy. Drop me a line and I'll try to fit you in :3

Bbs Australia time
General | Posted 12 years agoSo I've headed back to Australia to spend Christmas and New Years with my family and some friends, I'll be gone for about two and a half weeks. I've gotten so used to all the snow and cold and eh in Canada at this time of year, it's gonna take a bit of time for me to get used to the heat and sun and g'day back home!
I'm looking to a fair bit about it, including playing video games with my brother and sister again for the first time in ages, as well as hanging out with
Drascotty :B
I'll be on Skype when I can, too, hoping to catch as many of you as possible then. Have a good holiday season until then~

Thoughts on mangoose?
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm curious to hear what people think about the newest take on me/my character. I think that the older design is really nice too, I think that's more like the real me x3 plus I like the lithe look too (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11709975/). At the same time though, I really like the new bigger look too (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12018905/).
If anyone can give their honest opinion, that would be valuable and interesting for me to hear. Some people (*cough*person*cough) thinks I'm all sorts of silly and ridiculous for it, but I counter with saying that they're just being jealous yessum :U

Boston is BOSS-town
General | Posted 12 years agoWow I forgot about how pretty Boston is. Even being here for work and seeing little bits and pieces of the city between what I'm doing still makes my jaw drop at times. If anyone considers visiting the city, likes history, being around interesting random people, or generally good things, you should seriously consider it one day.

Used to watch my brother play this years ago, he always liked the weird, kinda terrible N64 games. If only he saw it for what it really was.

General | Posted 13 years agoSo I'm gonna be busy for a while, drawing practice will be on hold! Got a few things done that I'll upload later though :3 Also gotta catch up on my fave'ing and stuff!
Off to Vancouver for work, then Montreal for work, then Charlotte NC for family visits. I'll try and float around and stuff~

Adventures on the prairie
General | Posted 13 years agoCanada day was pretty awesome this year. It was only my second one and both so far have really been great!
I went to stay with
Target_Grey for the weekend, since I hadn't seen him in absolutely forever. And stuff! We mostly played Zelda: Wind Waker and Majora's Mask, both ourselves and watching glitchy speedruns online. We also went out to a fur meet party that the local Edmonton group was having, where I was introduced to the likes of
Orcinus and
tal and had an all round good time.
I was also introduced to Charms/Kieran, who we caught up with the next day after he finished work too. He was nice enough to take us up into the upper floors of his work building, so that we could watch the Canada Day fireworks. We actually all managed to sneak into the corporate level, it was a great evening~
So now I'm home and back to normal stuff. Boring normal stuff that fluffy Zangchus have to do. Can't wait for my next adventure, whatever it may be :3

Help out an artist
General | Posted 13 years agoThere's a great artist who's fallen on some hard times recently, who also happens to be a really great artist. I'm a huge fan of his work, so if you're looking to get a commission at all, go check out his gallery at
Diarist and yeah, commission him!
Diarist and yeah, commission him! Playing Nintendo's E3 games and holidaying
General | Posted 13 years agoSo today has been interesting! It's been a cool experience. Early this afternoon, I took
Royyy with me and we flew to Vancouver to have a mini-holiday together for the weekend :3 I have to be here for work on Monday and Tuesday anyway, so it worked out well. We've been relaxing, seeing the city and generally being Pokemon in a big city =p.
One thing of note that we've done is go to the local Best Buy here and try some of Nintendo's demos as announced at E3. We got to try the new Super Mario Cats (3D World), Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They were all pretty great! I think that MK8 looked the best and felt super polished, even for a demo. The controls were good, for both the Wii remote and touchpad controller. I really liked DKC:TF though, I played co-op with a stranger and we beat the hardest level together totally fine (we worked together well!). The "new dynamic camera system" gave some great views while playing without frantically panning around like in the classics to keep up with being fired from barrels and stuff too, so yeah. Awesome~
We were all given a medal too, celebrating the year of Luigi and his 30th anniversary. Might take a photo and upload it to my scraps later, it's really cool :3
If anyone else got to play these games too, let me know, I'd love to talk about it!
