Going to get straight to it. Having an issue at home where money is short and wondering if it would be alright to request for donations here? I've been on unemployment since I lost my job. Tried UPS but failed the driving portion so still on unemployment. They stopped sending money in October due to an error with my claim and they are dragging their feet to call for an interview.
I still have to pay rent though. There has been a financial change with my aunt so she really needs my help but I'm still unable to find work yet. I need to have $661 by 21st of this month. This doesn't even include the bills I have to pay for myself like my car note. Mostly worried about paying the rent.
I know how rules change. I haven't been keeping tabs here but are donations allowed here?

Project Update/ OH NO!!!
Posted 5 years agoHey, still writing the story for the comic. Developing the Antagonist characters. That's one thing I didn't really work on the first time.
Ended up spilling a little tea on my laptop's trackpad when my aunt's cat decided to take a one in a blue moon opportunity to rub up on me getting between me and my computer and my track pad is having issues. I already paid to have it sent to Apple. It's so unfortunate there are no open physical locations I can go directly to. I miss those days, sitting at the "bar" (which they don't seem to have anymore in the Annapolis mall I went to).
Looking to buy a windows computer. Last one I owned was in my late high school days. Was an old Dell I got from PC Retro. I remember when I first went online with it, I was immediately bombarded with virus pop-ups. I believe my computer was infected by the account used for the desktop which had viruses. This was back in the dial-up days. I hope I'll have better luck this time. So checking out the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop.
This windows is not going to replace my Mac, just covering the grounds my Mac can't. I know for one, I'm tired of those creating games and stuff only doing it for windows leaving the Mac users out.

I'm currently researching, working on my writing and storytelling a bit. Last time, I just went to drawing powered by music and short-sighted visions. When the story starts, the antagonist will not be kept a secret very long like it was going to be the first time.
I thank you to those who took the time to work with me and their characters. Thank you because I can be very meticulous with details. I want the story to be as entertaining as possible but also as accurate to the sources put in as possible.
Not much to say here. Any questions or concerns, comments, whatever? Is everyone getting by okay?

Oh Life
Posted 6 years agoGUYS, a lot of things are still going on. I'm trying to find my sketch book to do something. Ideas are just bludgeoning me up-side my head and they must come out.
It's all the moving around I had to do and emergency packing my things up and throwing it in storage. I don't have a car right now because some idiot slammed into several cars on this street including mine. My car ended up taking the worst of it and is totaled. Getting that situated. Now I have to walk everywhere. I walk about an hour to shopping areas and my storage unit. So far, I've only been able to go once because my ankle was really killing me afterwards. Part of it is whatever is wrong with my ankles and the other part was from not exercising or walking for a long time.
My goal this summer was to find a new job before the next school year but it looks like I've failed as we will have to go back to work this coming Monday (19th) and I don't have my foot in any new doors yet despite all the applications I've filled out. Now I'm going to be using public trans to get from where I'm staying now to my job. I was living in my car but after the accident, I became stranded at my aunt's and my cousins. The crazy thing is my sister was here with me to help get her life situated and on the morning I was going to take her back home to Pennsylvania, my car was struck while I was sleep. What else is crazy is a couple days before that, my car was towed because the temp tag expired and my mom just got it out and then it got totaled.
It's been hectic over here because I have two young cousins who run wild having not grown up in structure. One teenager who stays up in her room not doing anything with her brothers and their mom, my aunt, stays in her room as well while the young ones run around. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get work done and they get into everything so my stay hasn't been relaxing at all. I have been taking these long walks to town to help me be productive and get away from the chaos.
Hoping I get another car soon with better financing AND a better job soon.

Posted 6 years agoI'm starting to notice a trend that I do things in 4's without knowing it. The songs I've done have 4 songs in each series lol. The first 4 under Struggles, the next 4 under the group KAC, and last 4 under Life. There are more for Life though. One is actually in the works. When I looked, just wow though.
Lately: Been trying to apply to jobs using unemployment, which has been the most helpful to me than anything in years.

Taking a break from usual job this summer to straighten out some things in my life I have been neglecting, like my health for one.
Looking for a less strenuous job. Working on my financial situation. Need to fix issue with my car. Unfortunately, I cannot change my living situation yet. There are still more steps ahead of that. When I sacrificed, I never thought it would take this long. It's been a year and five months now living like this.
But hey, how are you doing? Is anyone left on here? It feels like a lot of people moved away. Is there something new I don't know about?

Update of What's Been Up
Posted 6 years agoI'm still around, just struggling to stay afloat in life financially and mentally. I'm sharing with you guys how things have been to give you a little bit of why you haven't heard from me or at least not consistently. Just a little of what's going on.
I've sacrificed so much yet it just isn't enough. I literally don't have stable ground to stand on so constantly moving around trying to find solutions as well as peace.
I don't have emotional support channels which causes me to go in and out of depression after I've taken my fill of troubling events and failures. It's also difficult not knowing at this point in my life where I am headed or where I should go. I'm really stuck where I am and slowly sinking. I only know a change must occur before June or I'll fall further and if that happens, I don't know what sort of state I'll be in so just really fighting hard right now.
Writing to you know because I've been just thinking about being on here more. I tried to come back but things just keep happening that makes it difficult. I'm still working on art when I can.
Well, have to go to work. Until next time.

Starting up Commissions Soon
Posted 6 years agoSituation's not getting better. My life has been going downward and I could not figure out the cause until this year. I have had a huge burden since winter of 2016 in the form of $15,688.83. Since then up to now, I've managed to knock it down to $12,565.29. By the time it is completely gone, it will be 2020 and I can't afford to live like this for that long.
In an attempt to bring it down faster, I am planning on doing small simple commissions. I know it won't be the answer but I need this thing out of my life as soon as possible so I can get to a better state of living. Seriously, it hasn't been going well for me for a long time.
I am looking to set up 3 types of commissions: headshot, bust, and full body. Keeping it simple for now. Currently working out prices and materials.
I have two commissions to push out first though.
I appreciate you for your time!

I hope I'm not stepping out of line here (realizes the change in management and some modified rules about advertisement here a year or so ago) but life is kicking my but a bit and I feel I need to make use of my artistic abilities since all else has been exhausted and still not enough to push me forward.
What I'm talking about is my future. Money, to be more direct. My job doesn't pay enough for one to live off of, let alone take care of the sudden side quests like car maintenance, bills, including my college tuition. I was planning to find a second job over the summer but it was during the time I was living with my dad who decided he didn't want me to move with him and his soon to be new wife. Mom helped me find a place but the lady I rented under stole from me then kicked me out when she found I didn't believe her story on what happened and contacted the police. That was back in mid June. Still haven't been able to submit a report on it (difficult system). Started back in school August and since, haven't had time or energy to get a second job. Up til now, I've been fighting to stay above water. Been hit with letters about my car registration, tickets accumulated for small things (parked too close to sign) (parked longer than specified time on sign) and they've doubled tickets on me at a time. I have to pay for service fee because all my car lights went out and was pulled over then days later, my lights came back on but still have to get service for one headlight that didn't come on. Just more and more things I have to take care of and I still can't seem to save enough to move anywhere.
I know I can't make a living off of commissions but I need something to help me along. If anyone who reads this is interested or knows someone who would like a commission from a traditional artist, it would help me out a lot if you could direct them or yourselves to me and see what I'm about. More details for those interested. It's not one sided, I hope to help you out as much as it's helping me. If nothing else, thanks for reading.
You'll start seeing a more constant flow from me once things have smoothed out with my life and I'll pick the comic back up.
I've also been working on a way to edit my submissions so that the presentation of the works are more worth the money spent. So tell me what you think. Thanks to all of you who have helped me out so far.

$15 inked and full colored
-$5 on less than full body of any level of detail
+$10 to add another character
If you want background, $ depends on what kind... (estimates)
+$0.50 solid color
+$1 color patterns
+$5 one element (ex. tree or grass only)
+$10-15 fully illustrated backgrounds

Everything is cool and as usual but I come across a "random question" that asks what is the name of one of the tech support staff. How am I supposed to know? I look in the list of staff here and the info isn't available until April. What's going on? Is staff changing?

Posted 10 years agoI want to let you all know that I haven't quit any of the projects I've started here or promised to complete. I still come here to see you other artists do your thing but haven't had the space in my mind to start or continue my things.
I'm dealing with college. Trying to manage my classes and grades responsibly as I juggle work also, which has provided multiple stresses.
My last semester had me so busy, I didn't have much time for my math and I ended up failing it and it isn't even that the work is hard. I'm in the same math class this semester and I keep making tiny mistakes like forgetting the negative sign or simplifying. I know what I'm doing, just somehow, I keep making tiny mistakes that cost me everything because I have to get a 100% in my modules to move on.
I've been running into financial issues with my car and insurance to where I am paying fines and paying to fix my car as it stopped running one freezing night and one cold morning. Lead to me getting a new battery but it still needs to get worked on but haven't made time for that.
I lost my motivation for a year or so but every time I get back in the groove of things, something happens and it's not just one thing. These past few years, it's been a domino effect. First one thing then something else or I am suddenly ambushed by a group of issues and none are quick fixes. I'm still hanging in there. I've been doing a little drawing here and there. I have been trying to start commissioning to help a little with money as my income doesn't allow room for things like outstanding debts.. anyway, as I type this, I have been trying to get a last minute assignment completed for my English course. Where's a snow day when I need one. This is the first winter that I can remember where it's still in the 30's and 40 degree F range. We've had small snow but not much. I hope it's not going to be a long winter this year.
Just wanted to let you know, I'm facing the struggle. I will try to do a better job with keeping you guys updated. I hadn't realized if anyone was paying attention.

Not to mention, sharpening my skills. The pressure is what I need to get myself back on track here. I never dreamed of being inactive for this long.

I came to ask you guys to join in on this new site called Beast Keeper (please use the link here http://beastkeeper.com/register/3555 to register, it will help a really good friend of mine out if you did). The site is in Beta so it's developing. You get to do things like train, breed, and battle creatures as pets. I didn't think I'd like it at first but it's fun and doesn't take too much to get into. My love of fantasy creatures, leveling up, and battling keeps me satisfied. So take a look before passing it up.

Posted 13 years agoI have projects I'd like to try working digital but I don't know the first thing about how to work on top of a drawing. I'm trying to get this going as soon as I can so if anyone has advice, please share soon as you can, please.

Posted 13 years agoJust want to let you all know that advancement of the comic is kind of slow because I'm working more with scenery now which is also a new thing for me. I've been doing researching and sketches to build the next "set".
I'm not really customed to using backgrounds or building environments so to make things short and easy while still gaining the experience, I use "sets" like for a play that shows only the areas important for the story. Also explains not many wide shots of areas but I'm working on using more of them.
Anyway, progress jumped from 14% to 16% and now 18%. The speed should be kicking in before too long.
Have a nice week, everyone!

For those following my comic and interested in knowing when's the new page coming, keep a look out for my "current news" colored in blue. If you look right now, it should say "artist profile14% of 100% until ready to submit" under it also in blue.
For easy and quickness, I will put the word "new" in bold yellow words on both ends of the "current news" heading. After three days, I'll remove the new (to give those who weren't on the day I first put new news on a chance to recognize that I have something new). Also, if any still don't have a chance to see it by the three days, you can simply look at the date. I always put the date that I put the news up so you'll never have to wonder if you missed anything. I'll also update it every 6 days meaning after I take down the "new" signs, there will be three days before the next update. Got it?
Now, information regarding the comic developments. I apologize for the huge hold up but I lost my flash drive November of last year with ALL my FA work, gifts, references, stories and soon to be stories with it. I did copy the references onto an external hard drive before I lost the flash drive but the External hard drive broke and then my world spiraled down before me. I lost a ton of work from the comic and had to start over, but not from scratch as I have the foundation built into my mind. Even so, I was discouraged for a while and I don't know if that lead to my art block but yeah, since then, I haven't been able to draw. Over the long period of time, I was working and living my life the best way I could. In April, I moved out of my dad's place and into a house with roommates. I now have my own laptop but no scanner so I'm afraid my drawings may not be as quality as before but I'm working on a solution that will bring better results. I promise it wont hold up the date when I upload because once the pages are finished, they are shipping off. Another thing is that I was using a PC before but now have a Mac and I don't have MS Paint so the dialogue balloons may change again but not a big problem. Still, I had my art block until my wonderful girlfriend saved the day when she gave me inspiring words and as I started working on a project with her, it got me back into drawing again :D As mentioned, I am 14% close to submitting and I know, it's less than half but do not worry, it wont take as long as it seems, just keep checking back on my page to see the percentage rise. Updates will not take more than six days. The biggest hurdle and as a part of retrieving lost data is the setting for the next scene. I'm working on that at this moment and so far, I've zeroed in on a great location. Just need to sketch and map things out and before you know it, the story will continue.

I've been working all this time I was away. Last month, I moved out of my dad's and in a house with room mates. I'm like FINALLY!! My own room and privacy. Most importantly, my independence that I have been reaching for for such a long time since I graduated High School.
For the longest time, I've had art block and just now coming out of it.. beginnging to. Although I haven't been drawing for the 8th Venus comic, I've been writing so when I start drawing, the pages should come more fluently. I need a laptop though to get back on it and also a way to scan. I'm on the computer at work right now, I will let you guys know when the comic will pick back up. Sorry for dropping out without a word.
What do you masters of technology think of me getting an Acer or a toshiba computer? I'm trying to find one that best suits my artistic needs as far as downloading art programs.

Page 21 has been taken down for editing purposes and will be resubmitted soon as possible. The computer hasn't been set back up since it was moved for remodeling. I don't know when or where it will go when everything is complete. I know, I'm on it now but I can't connect the scanner as a cord has to be found. Things have a knack for getting lost around here if messed with. I had nothing to do with it getting lost but I means to find that missing part. I'll let you all know what's up in the next update.
In case no one knew, my birthday was yesterday (May 1st) ^___^

Has anyone here been playing The Michael Jackson Experience on kinect? My sister and I are killing the score with 5 stars on Advanced Performance mode. Reaching over 150000 points, we can't be beat! :D Once I get the money, I'm going to post up videos of me playing it. I've been a big fan of Michael since I was a kid and it's so exciting to be put in the performance.
We both play on her profile so you wont see but 2 achievements for me if you check my gamer tag. That's going to change in a while though.
