Axis of Conflict - Chapter 1: New Forever
HELLO! THANKS FOR STOPPING BY, AND A WORD OF WARNING!
I always yell at my students when they start a presentation with, "this isn't very good, but here's my piece..." and now I'm going to do almost exactly that!
Although I love this chapter because it sets all the important stuff up, I do also appreciate that it's excessively rigid and descriptor heavy. I ask you to bear with me, and know that each chapter gets much smoother as you move on. I will be re-polishing chapter 1 when the whole first book is complete. Nonetheless, I am extremely proud of this chapter and I hope you enjoy it! Comments and feedback are always welcome.
About this chapter:
S'celbak is one of the rare tera kin of the guilds, and is perhaps the very last of his kind in a world ravaged by the Bliyt – a highly infectious pathogen that has devastated the planet. Preferring seclusion, S'celbak did not ask to be the face of the great riots that brought down the Kypers, or to place his mark on the end of a period of longstanding peace. He is stuck with an unexpected passenger, a female pardus girl named Turnteyl whom he has resued only by accident when fleeing the Kompleks, though she was perhaps better off without him. Now they must draw out the Kypers to ensure that the others may survive, and face the wrath of his old friend and now foe, the mighty krokody, S'carpto'ott, or else all the kin will pay the price.
