Malcolm was waiting for Kevin by the door to the apartment, smiling and tapping a tune with his tail against the wall, he was dressed nice, in a black tux with a white shirt and red tie, black dress shoes pulling it all together, well, as best as it could, seeing that his huge muscles threatened to rip the outfit apart. Nonetheless, he stood there happily, waiting for the date night the two had planned on.

Kevin walked in wearing a nice white dress shirt, a black tie, black slacks and black dress shoes. He smiled as soon as he saw the alligator, trying his best to look good. "Hello there, sir...where are you going dressed up like that, hm?"

The alligator checked his non-existant watch. "Well, I seem to be running a bit behind for my one-o'-clock train, would you care to accompany me to the parlor to wait for the three-o'-'clock?" He winked and held his arm out.

"I would love to, monsieur." He chuckled and put his arm around Malcolm's.

Malcolm opened the door, and as soon as he did, they both heard a phone behind them, on the coffee table going off, the ever-important work phone. "U-Uh..." He sighed. "I told them not to call me unless it was important, tonight of all nights..."

"Oh...oh no...do you think it's something bad...?" Kevin's face turned into one of worry, letting go of him and beginning to twiddle his thumbs.

Malc shook his head and kissed his cheek. "I'm sure we could ignore it... this once... for tonight..." He smiled slightly.

"Yeah, but...what if it's really bad...?" The bull looked pretty concerned.

Malcolm sighed and nodded, walking over to the table and picking up the phone, looking over the messages. Kevin began fiddling with his tie, nervously.

"Uh... this is... unexpected..." He looked to Kevin. "There's a VIP at the restaurant... no reservations, just showed up... a pop star or something...?"

"A what?" His eyes widened. "Who?!"

"Let me check..." Malcolm dialed the restaurant, getting an immediate answer... "Yeah, uh-huh... It was a special night... I guess, yeah... Sure, once in a lifetime... oh, her? I guess... See you soon." He hung up the phone and sighed. "Well, I have no idea who they are... they have a popular song on the radio... red hair or something... but they were asking for the head chef to cook...?"

"Head chef? That's me!" Kevin said excitedly. "I dunno, this could be a great chance for us! For the place!"

Malcolm nodded. "We'd have to reschedule date night, is that okay for you...?"

"That's good! I'm just so excited!"

Malc smiled happily. "Okay, let's go, love..." He grabbed Kevin's hand and they both left the apartment, heading down from their home and out of the building, quickly making their way to the restaurant on foot since it was only a few blocks away, before slipping in the back entrance.

"Okay, all set... I'll go greet them, you get ready back here!"

"Yessir!" Kevin walked in and quickly took his tie off, grabbing his chef jacket and apron and putting them on. "Gotta impress them, yup..."

Malcolm smiled and walked to the front, greeting guests and the VIP guest that dragged them in on date night, if Kevin was happy, he had no reason not to be, there would always be another date night. Malcolm came back a few minutes later with a sheet with their order, pushing open the double door. "Keeev! Order for them, they want you to deliver it personally, too!" Malc walked up next to him. "But I'll be by you, just in case!"

"Oh, alright! Nothing too complicated, right?" He took the sheet with the order.

It was several plates, but luckily, each seemed simple enough, especially given the cooking training Kevin has had. "I think you can do it, Kev..." Malcolm smiled and patted Kevin on his shoulder. "I'm here if you need anything..."
