What better way to absolutely destroy one's sleep schedule than to have passed out to heal during the daytime. Of things to note: Thener are a manufactured species. They are not something that could have evolved in any regard. Haven't gotten to a point where it comes up and don't know if I'll have the characters go into it at length, but Thener were designed to basically be a somewhat aesthetically pleasing telepathic sentry. Something to look imposing, possibly do a bit of manual labor and protect their charges from any sort of threat, telepathic or otherwise. That is until they developed their own religion and morality and eventually were set free as their own race. But this act of having been manufactured is why they have the relationship with their tails, the extremely powerful telepathic abilities, the ability to self-heal from most injuries, albeit slowly, and the ability to feed on energy.
