Fictional or not it's based in reality which is why it deserves respect. These conversations can absolutely ruin relationships between people and have before as babystar herself has said. It may be fictional for these characters but this is honestly a best case scenario in real life.

Essentially this is a moment in fiction where someone's is potentially dealing with a death and someone says "Hah! Guess the truck really got her first" and you say it in a room surrounded by people who've lost a loved one.

Case and point when doing a scroll through the comments.

...If this is the best case scenario then I've literally hit the jackpot with my luck, my whole family accepts who I am as a babyfur and most of those who I told do as well.

Truth. I lost a great many friends and though some stood behind me when someone outed me in a community cus they saw some of my art, I was doing. Some people I have been close to for over 15 years, all jumped ship and attacked me for my work.. This can seriously make or break a relationship. I have told a few folks and they were cool with me being into abdl, most are" Hey not my things but we good still. and life goes on. Others can get violent and abusive. So if you have had good luck, then I'm sooo happy for you but know it can turn on a dime in the other direction, too.

yeah sadly it is one of those make or break sort of revelations, Stars been lucky so far but the reality of the situation is that not everyone has understanding folk around them, my best friends marriage crumbled because of this stuff, a friend of mine was kicked out of their parents house when their folks found his stuff and he was honest wit them why he had it all. Reality is a bitch a lot of the time.

Things are alright, but that fear, that feeling never seems to go away. They are active people in the roleplaying community and it feels like they have a loaded gun to your head when you run into them. How are they gonna tell, are they gonna make things worse? it's scarry, but there are those that know and don't make a big deal over it.

I know for sure my parents would be the same if they found out anything of what I'm into. They've made passing comments on what they think of this stuff by pure chance.
I'm lucky I made it through to a safe environment with a partner who is somewhat into the same things as me, my teens were paranoid af.

I was such such such a paranoid teen, to the point where I felt if I showed any sort of mushy emotion then my cover would be blown. So i wouldnt hug people and no one would see me crying or angry. I just became this weird blank slate teenager for fear of being exposed. Its not like anything could have beene xposed. I had no stuff to hide and the internet wasnt a thing so no search history or any evidence whatsoever but i was still incredibly paranoid of my folks finding out.

I like that Elly is being honest here, its very common for ppl to say things like "You can tell me anything it wont change how I see you" but the truth is that a lot of things like this will change how some people view you and that is not always a bad thing, they might just view you in a different way that is more aware of this side or such

Yeah, it’s kind of absurd to imagine this not changing how you view someone. Even as an ABDL, if someone I knew told me they were into it, it would change how I saw them.

I don't know which way I hear it one time I read it I hear it the good way of maybe she just wants to see what it's like and how it makes you happy and another time I read it I hear the bad way what she's like I can't promise this won't change how I see you because it's weird

Given Star's "Oh.", I'm guessing Elly's tone of voice was not encouraging. It could be the kind of voice you do just to throw someone off, like right before tickle time, but I rather suspect that Elly now sees Star as less of an adult, and not in a good way. I definitely don't see her "Mommying" Star, nor do I see her participating, getting diapered herself, not that either would displease me.

I hope I'm wrong that within the next few pages, Star and Fee will be tapping on Kim and Martin's door, asking if the offer of the room is still open. I don't see Elly so much kicking her out as just being weirded out by it. (esp. given the response when it came up earlier in their lives, when Star lied about her fantasies, saying "spanking" instead, as I recall. Elly blabbed what the secret was when she had just promised to keep it quiet (alcohol was involved, I think,) and everyone roundly kink-shamed our community.

I do think that with Star telling the truth, Elly's respect level went up.... Star didn't know that Elly had the note from Manda, but confirmed it anyway. Had she lied, I think it might have not quite gone as Elly portrayed it, that she just let Star think she was keeping her secret. She would have, but her trust in Star would have been shaken at minimum, possibly broken.

As it is, if they part ways, I do hope that they do so as still friends, just who don't live together anymore. It's wrong to judge someone on their (harmless) kinks, but that does not change that it sometimes happens.

It doesn't have to mean a negative tone, it could also just be a more serious one

It could also be a play in the voice to throw Star for a loop in an attempt to lighten up the mood, we haven't seen enough from Elly to have an idea how she handles tense situations like this.

It would also be very possable that Elly simply has no clue on how to go forth from that situation either (considering it has just been a couple of hours since the discovery) and they have to figure that out together

To the flashback scene: It's easier to judge something if you don't have the full picture/just see the extremes. The example given was someone who didn't have their life together in contrast to someone who has it like an addition to functioning life, so the situation is very different.

I personally don't see them part ways because of that, a couple of days for Elly to recollect her thoughts at most, but we will see

Ahhh jeez I really hope Elly means that in a positive way :( its lovely to see her honesty and the way she's handling the situation since she clearly knows its sensitive and means so much to Star, so I'm really holding out and hoping she accepts this and views Star positively for coming out and admitting/accepting this.

Best ending I can think of is Elly wants to learn and research about the kink to be more knowledgeable, staying friends with Star and being someone Star can simply say "I'm going for a playdate" rather than having to lie and keep this part of herself hidden. Its nice to have someone who may not be into "your thing' to still be aware and fully accepting of it.

Sometimes that's the best sort of friend, the one who tries their best to understand even if something isn't for them, it means they are being open minded and understanding

I swear if this starts off with her acting all serious, and the basically ends with her meming on star/being accepting but making fun

The fact that Elly was going to let Star believe that whatever lie she could come up with is a positive point. Sure, this changes how she sees Star, but that she was going to let Star think it was still a secret does imply that she's at least somewhat accepting of it.

This line. She was willing right then and there to let the conversation end, give Star a way out. This tells me that no matter what Elly is about to say next, this has not changed how much she cares about Star. I think that is one of the most important parts of this conversation.

As for the last panel, my speculation is that she's about to say something about how this shows Star can let herself be vulnerable to others in the right situation. There might be a little hurt in that its not one of her best friends, but I think Elly gets it. Entirely speculation here of course, but that's the fun of seeing a cliffhanger, right?

Honestly, I'm kinda thinking of when one of my friends found out about me some years back. It wasn't this exact scenario. They had done a commissioned piece for one of my friend's and found out later it was for me. We had a talk about it, while this isn't their thing, they've been known to drop the occasional joke/tease in a friendly way since.
I kinda think it made our bond a little bit stronger.

I don't think it's a surprise for a decent sized revelation to change how a person views another.
The question is how much they let that change in view change how they feel about the other person.
A friend who likes weird things is still a friend.

That is understandable. You can't just demand that friends or even relatives accept it. But that's life. The most important thing is. Star makes it happy and you can grow from it
