I head on over to the driver and tell him the final location before taking my seat and lying down on it. Maria holds an arm comfortingly around me. Lumen looks like he’s getting ready to try and say something but the rest start piling in and it’s clear he mainly wants to be able to talk in private, probably about my question. I can also notice that quite a few of them are starting to look a bit tired, as it has been a very long night so far.

“So we’re probably not going to find anything in the last location,” I say once we’re underway, causing them all to look at me. “The last location had all of their balls ready to be hauled away and several files were missing. They know we’re coming. If there is anything to be found, they’ll have removed it before we get there. I think it might even be possible that we’ll find nothing but an empty building in the last location.”

“Be that as it may,” the braixen says, “it doesn’t really change things all that much for us. If we get to the location and it is an empty building than we do a quick sweep and call it a night. Else we carry out the raid. Either way, no fur off my tail.”
