Multi millionaires are NOT OPPRESSED!!
My Politics and Social views are ideas that I believe work. If something does not work I call it out.
Some people seem to think that rich people are somehow oppressed due to ethnic backgrounds!
Rich Black, Jewish, gay or whatever you may not be one of the power freaks causing all of our woes but you sure as shit ain’t oppressed!
I just wish one of these fucking oppressed millionaires would make a factory in a poorer area! Make something simple that everyday people could support with their wallets!
Rich Black, Jewish, gay or whatever you may not be one of the power freaks causing all of our woes but you sure as shit ain’t oppressed!

also men don't find themselves nearly as often the victim to sexual harassment at the workplace than women do and in the western world, white people don't find themselves nearly as often the victim of racism at the workplace.
don't get me wrong, Oprah is definitely privileged... but there's a shit load of other women and other ethnic people who have to struggle hell of a lot more at their workplace and in life, because they are a woman or non-white (or both), than there is men... at least here in the western world. that is unfortunately a reality, something we still need to work on to improve ourselves. the only way to do that however is to recognize and admit that there is a problem.
Demonstrate it, do not say "as is demonstrated", tell me which "same kind of job and work" do blacks/women receive less pay for than whites, examples.
Do the guys that did the GTA Remaster: Definite Edition deserve "same" or "more" pay for THIS kind of work? Yes or no?
White people and Asian people often find themselves the victims of hate crimes more often than blacks or hispanics, like the case with the Wakesha Christmas driver killer proved.
So, got better examples?
Activision Blizzard has been making several headlines regarding their toxic and abusive work environment that stretches back and if you're curious, I would recommend simply googling it. YongYea, a YouTuber whose content is about video gams and the video game industry, has been covering this, including the lawsuit that the state of California filed against Activision Blizzard, over the course of 2020 and 2021.
though Activision Blizzard is not the only giant in the video game industry that has come under fire with this kind of behavior as companies like Ubisoft have found themselves under investigation too.
I don't know anything about the GTA Remaster though. its a game that doesn't interest me as much so I am not really following news surrounding it, sorry.
Well, besides Mr. Ybarra having worked at games that sold really well, like Gears of War and Hallo 5, he is also Studio Manager and Corporate Vice-President, two titles that are not in Ms. Oneal's biography. So it is not an one-for-one comparison.
if two people hold the same position in their company and do the same job, they both should get the same pay. because they are doing the same job.
you're trying to justify and excuse giving people who do the same work less pay than their co-workers because "well, those other guys, who get more pay, they gave the boss a blowjob in the parking lot some 5 years ago"
that's not cool, dude
if you do the same job, you deserve the same pay
or would you ever willingly accept and take on a job if you were told to your face "oh yeah, you're going to do the same work as these other 3 guys, but we're only paying you half compared to what we pay the other 3 guys. even though we are going to demand you do the same work and put in the same effort"
would you accept a job like that? because I wouldn't.
I don't like being exploited and being treated like I'm a lesser human somehow...
Sorry, their biography speaks for itself. Stop trying to be a white knight there.
i'm just saying that if you hold the same position in a company, whatever that position is, and do the same job, whatever that job is, you deserve equal pay
what's wrong with that?
you do realize that you're trying to argue that even though Forklift Operator A and Forklift Operator B do the same job, operating forklifts, Forklift Operator B doesn't deserve the same pay because Forklift Operator A gives regular blowjobs to his Boss in the parking lot, right?
1. Halo 5, Gears of War series, Ryse Son of Rome.
2. Skylanders, Tony Hawk series, Crash N.Sane Trilogy.
Which of the above title series were ore profitable?
Why would any two persons receive same pay for putting two different products in the market?
Besides diversity quotas, that is.
the titles you listed justify promoting them to their positions in the company, that being Co-Lead, but it doesn't justify paying one more and the other less
again
they both have the same job title, the same job position, they do the same day to day work at their job, they attend the same meetings, they work the same hours
that means they have a right to equal pay
out of curiousity
if Jen wasn't a woman but a man named Jack, would you still argue all this bullshit "oh Jack didn't deserve the same pay as Mike did because even though they both have the same title as Co-Lead now and do the same work now, in the past, one made a more profitable game than the other"
I will be waiting to see it.
personally I think she should have filed a lawsuit since apparently she also claims to have been sexually harassed, a common problem with Activision Blizzard who faced several lawsuits as I previously mentioned.
if you want to give it a shot: you got google too. feel free.
you haven't answered my question though:
if Jen was a dude, would you still be arguing that paying him less than her coworker would be justified?
actually, would it be cool and justified if you find yourself working a job where you get paid only half or a third of what your fellow coworkers are being paid, even though you do the exact same work?
The answer is of course that she was a diversity hire with only failed products to her name, but she got promoted to where she was because she had a vagina.
She knows that, at least, and that is why she has not tried to take this to court because she knows that besides alegations she has nothing.
An you and she are free to prove me wrong by citing the lawsuit of hers against the company.
I don't know
I'm sorry if that is dissatisfying.
what I do know is this:
Jen Oneal was offered the position as Co-Lead of Blizzard shortly after the company was hit with several lawsuits for sexual harassment and discrimination, likely as a PR attempt to do damage control by Blizzard following the widespread media attention that these lawsuits received.
during negotiations for the promotion to Co-Lead, Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra were promised equal pay. this however did not happen, Jen Oneal was refused multiple requests for equal pal after having accepted the job as Co-Lead of Blizzard and as a result, Jen Oneal decided to resign a mere three months after becoming Co-Lead, which she cites as her primary reason for resigning from the company though she also claimed in some interviews to have also been sexually harassed.
whether she filed a lawsuit or not following her resignation from Blizzard is something I don't know.
researching this topic usually leads to articles talking about multiple lawsuits against Blizzard for sexual harassment, however they never mention the identity of the people filing the lawsuits. most likely because these cases are still ongoing and information is guarded by lawyers until after the judge has made a decision.
this is the best I can do in terms of answer
now its your turn:
would you be accept a job and be okay doing a job where you get paid only half of what your coworkers do, even though you do the same work and you were promised in your job interview that you would receive equal pay?
Yet you decided to rally the lawsuit point of discrimination against an interlocutor of yours that told you he got discriminated against because he was white and male, refusing to believe him until he done so?
So, what makes the above member of FA untrustworthy in your eyes and the testimony of that woman trustworthy?
Is it because one lacks a vagina? Is that it?
Or is it because he is not just a male he is a WHITE male, and we all know that without double standards, the left would have no standards at all.
Thank you for showcasing your hypocrisy to everyone reading this journal.
He has since explained himself and I have apologized to him since if I had known all this from the beginning, I would not have made the assumptions that I did.
I was clearly proven to be in the wrong and I have since apologized to him for it.
as to why I believe Jen Oneal: her story simply matches with what was going on at Activision Blizzard at the time.
I don't know if she specifically filed a lawsuit, personally I think she should, but the fact of the matter is: if not Jen Oneal then many others filed lawsuits because all these lawsuits that were raised against Activision Blizzard didn't come out of nowhere.
from what I remember, even the state of California began an investigation following these lawsuits and Activision Blizzard was caught shredding documents, possibly destroying evidence.
all of this information is easily available if you google for it
and you still haven't answered my question.
this whole discussion was about equal pay, after all. something that apparently didn't happen at Activision Blizzard and which you tried several times to justify
so please, answer my question:
would you be accept a job and be okay doing a job where you get paid only half of what your coworkers do, even though you do the same work and you were promised in your job interview that you would receive equal pay?
this is a "Yes" or "No" question
Now, like I said, if all things were equal, we would not have this discussion because she would never reach this position if she was not a woman.
Like I said, one was a vice-president at a studio, so he outweighted her on experience on that department alone, plus he was involved in many financially successful titles.
The only titles she was involved with were moderate success at best, or catastrophic failures at worst.
So, if she had not been the correct gender for a quota-filling, she would never receive that position, a position her resume never indicates to this day she deserves to have!
according to the interviews, they both insisted on it as well. and they were promised during the interview that yes, they both would get equal pay
they signed the contract and accepted their respective promotions because they were promised equal pay during negotiations
a promise that Activision Blizzard didn't keep, even though it was agreed upon during negotiations... or job interviews or whatever you want to call it.
Yes, Blizardctivision is a scummy company for this, and for not equalizing them but at no point she was promised an even contract with her contemporary.
She put her signature willingly there.
I read somewhere, I don't exactly remember where, it was another article about this, but i did read that they were both in an interview for the position and were offered equal pay, hence why i felt the way I did.
but apparently that wasn't the case
'course it doesn't change that all these other lawsuits were filed and happened though i didn't follow them that closely if i'm being honest.
I mostly made up my mind as Activision Blizzard being a real shit company run by absolute scumbags who use every opportunity to exploit their workers, stopped supporting them and moved on with my life.
plenty of other video games made by other companies to play, after all... I recommend Elden Ring. its really good.
As a straight white man I have been skipped over for promotions in spite of being the more qualified employee, why?
Because they needed more blacks or women in higher positions!
Whites, especially straight white men are discriminated against a LOT more than you might assume!
And yes, men do receive sexual harassment as well. Granted not as often, and ugly dudes even less.
Women think if a guy looks at them sideways the guy is making a sexual advance. But then if they’re interested in a guy they can just walk up and grab or touch him. I have personally witnessed and experienced this to be true.
Same with domestic violence, as shown by the whole Johnny Depp / Amber Turd episode.
its more likely that you either didn't suck up to the right guy, you're a victim of nepotism with somebody deciding to promote their kid instead, your boss prefering to keep you working in your current positions to make their life easier thanks to all your hard work or, last but not least, if that comment about "because they needed more blacks or women" is any indication, then there is also the possibility that you've been denied a promotion because of your attitude towards women and blacks.
i'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that you probably don't have any evidence to really back up your claim of "i wasn't promoted because they wanted more women and blacks", am i right?
because if you had evidence to back up this claim and to prove that this was indeed the case, you would have gotten yourself a lawyer and sued for discrimination.
but you probably don't have any evidence. you got skipped over a promotion and simply decided to put the blame on women and blacks.
i gotta tell you, if you had that kind of attitude at my workplace and my country, which is predominantly white, you wouldn't get promoted either...
hell, if you keep that attitude up, you might find yourself being let go because of it...
but yeah, sure... keep blaming it on scapegoats. whatever makes you sleep at night.
In hushed conversations over lunch at Toscana Brentwood and cocktails at the San Vicente Bungalows, some powerful producers and agents have started to question the commercial viability of inclusion-minded films and shows.
They point to terrible ticket sales for films like “Bros,” the first gay rom-com from a major studio, and “Easter Sunday” a comedy positioned as a watershed moment for Filipino representation. “Ms. Marvel,” a critically adored Disney+ series about a teenage Muslim superhero, was lightly viewed, according to Nielsen’s measurements.
So you got evidence that he is lying? Otherwise YOU are liar and I am calling you out here.
"for three years, we hired nothing but straight white men" said a senior film executive, who like many leaders in the industry is a white male.
see?
super easy
so
does this "senior film executive" have a name?
who is it that said that?
I'm asking because the article you linked is bugging me about a subscription before i can read it and i'm not going to do that XD
So can Hollywood sue them for false allegation of discrimination against whites, right?
I expect to see the lawsuits from Hollywood incoming any moment now.
https://vdare.com/posts/hollywood-i.....iversity-hires Here's another link.
which is why I am asking you if this senior film executive has a name
I want to google him and verify whether or not what he said is true
So, if NYTimes is lying, I expect Hollywood to take action. Simple!
we don't know who it was that said that thing, we don't know if he had a big or small studio, how many people are affected by that decision, etc...
so its really hard to investigate and figure out the truth
so far he hasn't, which is a little sus...
especially since there's a million reasons of why someone doesn't get promoted
maybe the person that gets promoted was simply better qualified
maybe the person that gets promoted gives better blowjobs in the parking lot
maybe the person that gets promoted helped one of the bosses dispose of a dead hooker
maybe the person that gets promoted is some kind of friend or relative to one of the bosses and its a case of nepotism
you get the point
there's a million reasons why someone doesn't end up being promoted
its not always just about race and sex...
So, yes, as a white man I was discriminated against because of laws employers have to comply with in order so support “equality”
As to your pathetic argument of why didn’t I hire a lawyer?
Because, and this may SHOCK you, but I didn’t have an unlimited budget to pay an attorney over a suit I’d be guaranteed to loose anyway over a job that didn’t pay well enough for me to give a shit if they collapsed due to shitty promotion practices.
Keep scapegoating white males and claiming that you yourself aren’t prejudiced.
I currently work in a position where everyone working the same position are paid the same after a short progression to top scale. Yay union!
that answers the question at the end of my last post, lol
I'm happy you were able to find a better job at a different company... and with a union too :D
well done
I wish you the best of luck at your new job and your future career :-D
that being said, I am proven wrong and I apologize for the things I said.
I was wrong and I am sorry
I sincerely hope you were able to find a similar or better job at a better company
'cause the company that did that and admitted it to your face sounds really shitty
You'll see this common practice in construction, airport businesses, facilities, etc.
No, it isn't fair to anyone involved, but it is how these contracts often work.
The object is to try to make steps towards evening out our long history of institutional racism and discrimination, not to put unqualified people into jobs. That would be self defeating. It's not like there's an actual shortage of qualified minorities.
To get a contract to operate a restaurant at an airport, for example, it is not unusual at all to have a requirement to be a minority ethnic woman owned company. The airport would have a requirement to have x% minority owned businesses to meet quota, and would find themselves with people that have never worked or owned an appropriate business, being incapable of providing the service effectively due to no experience or training. This is fairly common in airports, Construction, transportation, really anywhere such government quotas are pushed.
It all nice and good to think everything is being done equally, but that isn't reality. The best person for the job is frequently overlooked in favor of check boxes on a form.
Real world example: White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre. Her qualifications for the job were race and gender, not background, training, or experience. And then results are very apparent.
I want the best person for the job. Your position is that everyone should be considered equal for any position. Your position is why those projects have to be redone.
A person with no credibility as you have demonstrated by refusing to even back up your own comments will have a hard time finding anyone else to believe them.
You had your chance, you refused. It was your own credibility you wouldn't defend, so we have to treat your position with as much value as you do...
NONE.
If someone brings up Activision Blizzard, They literally cannot pay people different for the same work. If 3 people are Janitors and one is a white male, a girl and not a white male. They all get paid the SAME. It's a Law. One of those three cannot be a supervisor unless they get paid more for it. One of them can't do paperwork the others don't or they get paid more. You no longer can negotiate your pay. Over Time probably still has an exception in the paycheck numbers. Hmm.......
In pretty much every facet of life women and most minorities undergo discrimination that denies them equal rights, pay, etc. The data and stories are there, all you have to do is look.
Or how about that since the covid pandemic began, women were far more likely to have to lose or leave their jobs and still haven't regained their previous share of the workforce?
Or how about the recent anti abortion ruling and its continued repercussions?
Or possibly the fact that the average black family has one tenth the wealth of the average white family?
Those are just a few off the top of my head. Do your own homework.
If you choose to be ignorant or bury your head in the sand, don't blame me.
There's really not much point in debating a topic with someone who can't agree to live in the consensus reality of the vast majority of the people. You are making it abundantly clear that you'll never agree with any facts I present.
You're not going to agree with anything I say, and I'm not going to accept your clearly brainwashed conspiratorial disinformation.
And your resorting to antisemitism just puts the icing on the cake. I think we're done here.
And I see no victory here, I just feel pity for your self deception.
You can't hear it, but I'm *CLAPPING* my hands in support of what you typed!
(scared the cat. he will get his revenge, I've no doubt!)
Please provide that source? If it us indeed true, I will have to reconsider your position.
Please provide your source to be verified, or don't bother bringing it up at all.
It is your credibility at issue otherwise.
Much as I appreciate hard sources, I don't expect anyone to do that for me. This is commonly available information. I've given both of you plenty to go on for further research if you actually care.
If you actually care about your position, you would have this information ready. The fact you don't and are not willing to back up your comments shows you have zero credibility.
If you make a claim, back it up. When you don't, as you've done here, you present yourself and your position as meaningless.
So that's that. People will treat your comments as those by a person whom either has no evidence or is making it up.
We're done here. You had a chance and you threw it away.
How about we go back to where this crap started and have
This just isn't worth my time.
"True Western societies"...
So getting your comment removed for antisemitism wasn't enough for you. Now you feel the need to engage in racist dogwhistling as well.
You just continue to dig your little fashy twit hole deeper.
We've really drunk the right wing conspiratorial Flav-R-Aid, haven't we.
I could be a judeomarxist, like you! Oh yes, I forgot you are an "anarchist", the commie's creation at the 3rd Communistic International.
And you're liable to get this comment deleted for antisemitism as well. You just don't learn, do you?
We have two guys.
1. Kanye West
2. Jeffrey Epstein
One said mean things about the jews in Twitter.
The other had orchestrated and held an enormous child-trafficking ring.
Only one of them had his bank account terminated.
Care to guess which?
Keep diggin' your hole, bub. I won't stop you.
Thank you for showcasing everyone here how much merit we should put to your comments.
Nobody's claims should be assumed as facts out of hand. They're all just a basis for further research.
And you've got absolutely no ground to stand on where it comes to facts. You only make this too clear with your consistently loony and conspiracy based comments.
You've shown no ability to determine a fact from clearly propagandistic hate or a lie.
Anything you are not telling us, Mr. "Sik" "Fock"?
Epstein was a serial abuser whose religious heritage has absolutely zero to do with his obviously despicable behavior.
And if you think my screen name here, clearly meant to be silly and humorous, is some kind of big "Gotcha" relating to my personality you're truly clueless.
Keep digging that hole of yours mate, it is funny watching it.
And this time I am the one done with you.
It's pretty damn clear who's done more real world damage here, and it certainly had nothing to do with either person's heritage.
See, thing is, I've been here before. And I've been repeatedly burned.
I earnestly post reliable sources, either in the first place, or after some work on my part in response to someone I'm having a discussion with, only to be blocked, blown off, or ignored.
It's not like I'm posting vague conspiracy crap here, I've given you clear and concise statements as grounds for further research.
Why the fuck should I be expected to do your homework for you?
You can look up my claims and confirm them for yourself. If you'd like bonus points and giggles, try looking up some of KJ's B.S.
I may not be perfect, but at least my claims are reality based. Are you really saying that you'd believe that crap over what I said?
The real question is: Do you actually care about facts and truth? Or do you really prefer to play childish "Gotcha" games?
But still interesting to see how other people view the world.
OMG!! SENPAI NOTICED ME!!
Sorry, had to.
In any case, I assumed so about the afore-mentioned person.
And yes, I notice folks. Roos especially. :)
Or you could actually put some time into it and do the work yourself and look up the specific things that I pointed out and perhaps you might be convinced by the overwhelming preponderance of facts.
Try it, I dare you. I'm guessing you probably won't.
We could potentially have some interesting conversations if you actually did.
Sorry, you did it to yourself.
But I can't judge something like that second hand, I'd have to see the original quote to make a reasonable evaluation. That was what I was pointing out.
What is the factory making? How many people will it employ? Will any of those people be from the community? If so, will the working conditions be good? Will it maybe be a collective? Will the pay be good? Will the workers have an opportunity to rise within the company? There are an awful lot of factors that might make it a good thing or not.
What's your point?
If people don’t have jobs where do you think money should come from?
Notice that you said "Used to". Those days are behind us.
Everybody deserves a rewarding job that pays well. A good start towards this would be to rebalance the wealth that has steadily concentrated upwards for the last half a century or more.
This is an incredibly complicated thing to do, and factories are but one small piece of it, and how they're administrated and run is as well.
Globalists don’t care about their country or the people in it.
I would tend to agree about the effects of corporate capitalism, which I think is a much better name for it than "Globalism". That term has some rather unsavory connotations.
As a bit of a side note, I'm rather amused at
I'd reply to him directly, but he blocked me a while back. I've got no idea why, I've never said the least unkind word to him, and I've always been sort of inclined to like the guy, even if I don't always agree with his opinions. I can only guess that he misperceived something I said as an insult, or just doesn't like me 'cause I'm a lefty wingnut. His prerogative, though.
Personally I don't block people. I believe in communication, even with those I might disagree with. I don't mind criticism or opposition to my thoughts or opinions.
No, I disagree with your statement. People deserve the opportunity to *earn* that job they want. If you don't work hard and earn that job, then you do not deserve anything at all.
If you believe in deserve a rewarding job, then YOU need to earn that job. Just being given that job for doing nothing more than breathing makes that job not rewarding, but meaningless instead.
Earn that reward. It should never be a hand out or it's worthless.
But how about we look at the counterfactual: Suppose someone is handicapped, or mentally challenged, or is of a population that is consistently underprivileged and undereducated, etc. Should they be denied a fair living, a job, medical care, or such? Should we just let them die in a slum or on the roadside?
I don't think so. Our society can clearly afford to take care of everyone. We're currently the most wealthy empire in the history of the planet, and we provide less for the public benefit than many countries with much more modest means.
Wealth has been steadily concentrated upwards over the last half century and more, to a literal handful of superbillionaires. A fair rebalancing of this wealth as well as not spending close half of our treasure on weapons, war, and aggression would provide a high quality of life for everyone, with those few whose exorbitant fortunes would be somewhat reduced barely noticing it. We need to actually care for and about EVERYBODY. We would all benefit from this. Just think of the increased productivity from the full employment and health of everyone, if you'd like a particularly capitalist example. And I think the moral rewards would be even greater.
By your very own comments, this person should be allowed to fly a commercial passenger jet without any training or skills simply because the "deserve" the job.
Please let me never be on a plane flown by someone whom "deserves" to have the job because they have a pulse.
And don't you love the way one individual seems to find it his prerogative to take over the comments section of your Journal?
An alarming percentage of California's air pollution is crossing the Pacific to get there, so the Governor doesn't want them to buy gasoline automobiles any more.
I had one idea!
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is made in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. Not even if they gave it to me.
And don't get me started on variety vs. monoculture -- that's the way to death. If you don't have some variety, a virus or parasitic pest can wipe out a whole ecosystem. That's why I can't tolerate anti-miscegenation segregationists. If you breed a 'pure race', you're asking for trouble. (* mumbles something about inbred royalty, hemophilia and Habsburg jaws *)
And we won't discuss which part of themselves the person is exposing.
It's pretty much all they can do at this point and why I left their party. They have unrealistic expectations of reality as is. Toxic positivity is what is basically. It's partly why they tend to hate black and hispanic conservatives. They don't kowtow to the narrative they are an oppressed class today and they liken every conservative area as being the equivalent of the deep south here in the US. Hardly the case at all.
Being rich in the US isn't something just anyone is going to attain. Having the skills to even get an opportunity to be a multimillionaire is hard as is but also requires the skill to retain it. Most people just aren't capable where in other cases opportunities are simply finite.
Only so many spaces on sports teams, for example. So some excellent players just end having to find something else to do and because they likely put their efforts into getting recruited failed to build on a secondary skillset of equal value. Hell do a trade... those people often make 6 figures soon after graduation. But it's incredibility hard work which seeing today's more...progressive-minded folks... are deterred from doing because its hard work and long hours and you know they need their mental health days every orher day :p
Life is hard work. Sure, some are lucky to be born into wealth. Pretty much why the "eat the rich" crowd are really just angry that life at its core is not fair... at least for the people they have eyes for cuz they sure aren't talking about Obama having his wealth stripped away. For people preaching equity they sure do like to play favorites based on the very things they say they are against.
So yeah. Unless the government is actually taxing minority classes more because they are minority classes (which isnt a thing anymore) then yeah no...the rich of any ethic background are not being oppressed.
Now, before you/anyone starts piling-on the kindling and wielding the pitchforks/torches and start hollering to 'Burn the Heretic!'?
I remember when we had our first 'Gas Shortage(s)' during the 70's. It was at this exact same time foreign vehicles took hold, and haven't looked back, since, due to their far greater MPG and even craftsmanship (though everyone knows this did not apply to all Makers/Models!).
'Detroit' and 'Co.' (ie, ALL of the American Automobile Manufacturers), lost their g-damned minds.
This was when 'I' first started paying closer attention to big business and then big government and how they work in concert (Also, for further info., research 'Tucker' and what happened to THIS creative genius and his highly advanced design(s) for automobiles).
Now take automobiles out of the equation.
Unions were a good thing. Raising the levels of safety/pay for us everyday blue-collar workers is worth acknowledging. Then they went sour, and are now the bastion of 'Seniority Clauses' which protect workers who don't produce, don't earn the pay they're getting, and have zero accountability for any of it (ie, see what's happened with our 'Public School' systems, across the nation, and the abysmal performance/test scores that have resulted from it).
Covering more...
Take every industry, including military/space (I was living in Sacramento, CA, when they shuttered THREE major bases within a sixty mile area, devastating the local towns/city due to the sudden loss of business/revenue, and even NASA/Aerojet was hamstrung.).
While this did begin opening the doors to the very wealthy private Citizen/Businessman/person and foreign nations, that hardly helped the hundreds of thousands of American Citizens with the loss of their jobs.
American Businesses began their mass exodus (Again, notably starting in the 70's/80's), abandoning America and opening up in foreign countries. The same countries that do NOT have Unions, and who pay a wage/income that is mere pennies above actual 'Slavery'.
Said Companies and those who own/ran/run them raked-in the $$$, while the core of American Business was gutted, and we now see cities and suburbs that look like something out of an apocalyptic horror movie, but IRL.
Now we're living the results of this 'Virus of mysterious origins' and the two year shut-down of our economy, while simultaneously realizing the utter lack of domestic manufacturing for even the most basic of commodities/products.
Waking up yet, my fellow Citizens?
I have little pity for the ultra wealthy, but I will grant them this- THEY know how to make $$$ and wield it. I've just been a 'Grunt' all my life. Blue Collar and not ashamed of it. I also realize my ignorance(s) about 'Wall Street/Big Business/Foreign and Domestic policies', but have to accept that with all the red tape America and its Judiciary/Legal System/Unions covet, trying to start any business these days is almost doomed to failure (just look at the percentages of small businesses that don't make it, for starters).
I would LOVE to see the wealthy American Businesses/Owners invest their $$$ into starting domestic manufacturing, and reducing our reliance on foreign products, but there's a valid reason why they don't.
American red tape vs foreign ease and vastly lower wage system(s).
How to fix it?
Not sure how to 'Fix' greed/immorality with mere polite words. Given these traits are inborn and part of humanities gene pool, short of cutting out the offending strands we're left with our consciences and common sense, but those too are in short demand, now.
Big change happens when big challenges are faced.
America and her People have been coasting for many decades off the momentum of earlier profit/success.
