Things that I live for in Pokémon! X3

Adorable dance animations! Cute little stories! Fantastic visions of having a cute Mon by your side! =D
As a bonus something Disney that I just cannot else but swoon over:
Hi everyone! Sorry for staying so silent in recent months. Hope you are staying warm whereever you are right now.
Feeling still grateful for the kind share of words, time and talent from you all. I appreciate it also that some of you have simply asked how I've been. I feel really guily at times whenever my selfesteem shrinks and I get the odd delusions of that I'm annoying people more and should just stay silent. I try to be more hopeful and have set a new aim for myself. I want to submit more journals. Having fun message exchanges about random things that made me smile.
Today is Pokémon Day again so we will likely get some announcements for upcoming services, games and potential products. Do you have anything you'd be excited for? Have you been playing any Pokémon of recent?
I have actually started getting into some more Pokémon collecting and started catching up in some of the video games I have not touched because I was busy with IRL responsibilities. Currently started "Shining Pearl" version which I find quite rough in some aspects but it will be neat to just play along with a gifted Pokémon egg of Totodile in my team who I will use for the gym challenge (after the first one). The recent generation had loads of neat QoL elements that I definitely found enjoyable plus I liked the various main trainer characters a lot. I have yet to play Legends Arceus, New Pokémon Snap and various games at some point.
Obviously I did enjoy the re-appearance of Totodile in the Treasure of Area Zero DLC! Got some jolly animations and you can turn on a simple mode of where you can steer your current out Pokémon around. Alongside the photo mode and all a little simple with some more things to be desired but it's still cute.

Regarding the videos above, I love the catchy and adorable things that get uploaded from time to time on the Pokémon channels. Makes me always smile with the adorable sometimes emotional and adventurous takes and of course enjoy the characters all so much (the Disney video is pure nostalgia overload).
Any Pokémon you enjoy of late or a starter you find neato? Happy to listen to you about anything, really!

I mentioned the Pokémon Day. Personally, I am currently quite content with Pokémon, though honestly, as someone who likes to look into Pokémon merchandise every now and then, I would love to see them expand their distribution services. The official online store of Pokémon is only at the UK, the US and well, Japan. That pretty much leaves me with import fees whenever I might see something I find cool. Plus there is the risk always that something might get lost between a middleman service and the transit over to my place in Europe. I have withhold getting much from them because of that, but would consider it if they'd just offer proper international shipping or would open up a service outside the regions they are limited to.
Speaking also of merchandise, I saw they did this new Pokémon TCG set called "Wild Force" which includes the Paradox Pokémon of Pokémon Scarlet; definitely want to get Totodile from that set for my little card binder yet. In Japan they also released a cute little product series called "Bite Squad" for Pokémon that learn the move "Bite". Totodile is part of it in form of adorable lenticular keychains, pouches and notebooks among things. Now if only they'd release a Build-A-Bear Totodile yet...(a funny Totodile addict can dream)

Lastly, I wanna say sorry once more for several slow responses on my end. I often have problems these days to write feedback that I feel satisfied with. I sometimes get lucky and receive such cute and fun chances of Shiny appearing in yours and other artists' illustrations and doodles, and I never feel okay with just a simple thank you. Though I also had people telling me that I overthink things and even some that aren't fond of me writing a lot (you see how complicated it makes for my brain XP). If needed, please just ask me or remind me to reply back to you soon.
As for other things, really, if anyone just wants to exclaim to me interest in having Shiny in any project, let me know. I'm happy to listen to suggestions and am also open towards supporting others with a commission if they come up with ideas that I find fun. I have recently been more and more interested also in potentially getting to read silly short story adventures with SHiny, so if there are any writers among you who like wacky and magical situations, no matter if it's Shiny or his surroundings that could get affected in them, feel free to notify me.
That's pretty muchz it for now. If you want to know what things have been highlights of 2023 for me, I'd have to say visiting the Jurassic World Exhibition (never have been to Universal Studios, so that's been like my personal chance in Europe to see such cool Dinosaur models) and watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie in the cinemas with my good friend as well as a relative.
In case anyone would like to suggest what I could make another journal about, I'm of course open to that as well. You all stay healthy and I read you in the comments and a hopefully soon upcoming journal!
Stay totodily awesome! (-^.=.^-) ♪

I'm mostly just waiting for the PMD Explorers remakes, though Black/White would be nice too
Oh, that would definitely be lovely. "Pokémon mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness" and especially "Explorers of Sky" were among the reasons why I started enjoying Totodile as much as I do today. It had such an emotional and heartfelt story to it and made me care about the side characters a lot even. Always hoped they might turn the concept into a proper animeted series what sadly didn't happen but the anime OVAs and the game series by Spike Chunsoft I had for the most part a really good time with. I admit, I have still to properly play through the DX remaster at some point but I love the artworks they made for the game.
For a remaster of the second entry in the PMD franchise, I'd enjoy seeing them add even more bonus episodes and perhaps an optional orchestral soundtrack. That would be lovely. Otherwise it's really difficult to get as great as the original Nintendo DS entries which I actually even bought for my Nintendo Wii U in the days of when that service was still around.
I liked the sprite animations in the fifth gen. I still recall that it was the time when I started submitting some of my arts here. Zoroark and Zorua were introduced as that new special Pokémon duo after Lucario and Riolu in gen four. I personally always liked Axew from that gen and also played as that Pokémon in the "PMD: Gates to Infinity" 3DS game.
In general I always love to see more atmospherical details added to new Pokémon games. Stuff that makes the world feel alive, nice stories told and the sorts. I know, Pokémon is often more that competitive game first but I am one who likes the fantastic side of the world and how the people and Monsters inhabit it.
Also, Pokémon Legends sequel! 💚
I am a bit confused over how many Johto things they were dangling in front of my nose. between the announcements. Johto music, Unown and whatnot seemed like anything would have Johto Pokémon featured a bit further than just Raikou, Entei, Suicune and SIlver getting integrated in the mobile apps.
I am definitely interested in seeing the cute artworks of Pokémon cards expanded. Creatures sadly never gave Totodile a Full Arts type card so I again have to stay patient. <X3
I was watching Pokemon anime and playing Pokemon Gold (Totodile was my starter!) up until recently when a wave of depression hit and I've been doing nothing at all XD But I did watch Pokemon Presents today and am excited about the card collecting app and the new Legends game. I'm still hopeful for B&W remakes.
And yes, those animated Pokémon always have so much personality and look adorable. I will have to watch "Pokémon Horizons" for Fuecoco later on yet. He's a funny fellow as much as I have seen in previews.
It's definitely neat for that even that I never really had the pocket money to dwell into the TCG collecting much, you can pull some cards from time to time.
I keep my fingers crossed for the gen V fans. I still remember using the browser for the Dream World side of it and finding Iris's partner Axew in the anime rather cute.
But much like before, I tend to be cautious with the announcements considering the failures they have made prior. But unless I see gameplay of the new game at the end of the presentation, I won't be speculating or commenting on it until later this year when more trailers come out for Pokemon Legends Z-A/ZA.
The concept in itself seems interesting for that if they make a game that is set in one city/metropolis and manage to get the scale of it all right, it could make for an interesting concept. Personally had a lot of fun with the battles and venturing through the Terarium's biomes in the "The Treasure of Area Zero" DLC with all the double battles involved. I admittedly only really have experiences from games like "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag" when it comes to roaming towns and city maps for quests and whatnot, so might be interesting in some aspects for a Pokémon title if you get to display more of the urban feel well.
We'll see. Gotta wait.
As you've said before, we'll have to wait and see what the game ends up being by the mid or end of 2024 I would say.
If this helps, I would like to tell you that personally I think you are an amazing person, so don't worry about having to be silent buddy <3
However if there was one Pokémon I would say that I really like as of late, I would choose Totodile, specifically, your Shiny Totodile dude~ ;3 He is just sooo cute, if he ever told me that he needs a buddy, I would glady offer to have him as my pokemon buddy! 😊
And if I were to look forward to something related to Pokemon I would be looking forward to them making more of those animations and for sure a remake of the Explorers pmd games :3
Also, don't sweat it about the late replies Marc, I understand and I don't mind the wait, I'm just more concerned about you being okay ^^ <3
Ooh! I definitely agree that watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie at the cinemas with my brother and friend is a highlight of 2023 :D
Ah, that's very kind and a praise I hope I can justify to you in some way yet. I am just very self-critical and sometimes a bit of a worriwart in regards of the impressions I possibly give off to people. Potentially annoying people is among my biggest fears. I simply want to share the fun instead of spoiling it.
Oh, my! Happy that you seem to find Shiny entertaining. I always have liked to see him as my personal inspiration and way of expressing what things I tend to find fun and playful yet. Ranging from fanarts with "What if...?" kinda gettogethers in that Shiny could be seen with other cool characters or get put in some funny cosplay, to things that just showcase fun and carefree moments between him and other friendly Furs he can become dudes with.
I adore the Nintendo DS version of "Explorers of Sky" for how well it refined all the mechanics from "Time/Darkness" and put all such cool minisodes with the other members from the Wigglytuff guild and fellow characters in the story. The sprite graphics I think look way pretty to this day. The one thing that I feel could slightly add further atmosphere would be possibly something like added anime cutscenes and orchestral music. I swear, the music in the game still hits so different, especially in connection to the emotional writing in the plot. What I mean is....If ever a remaster happens, I hope they can convey the qualities well and nothing gets 'lost in translation' how they say.
I gotta add in context to the The Super Mario Bros. Movie, I have been a vivid enjoyer of the franchise for many years. I think Nintendo has that certain 'Nintendo-happy' charm to their games. With all the characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, I think the setting and characters both look toony and very likable. It sure does help with how Nintendo markets the Mario characters as the varied and lighthearted acting characters that sometimes get into grand platforming adventures, sometimes have races and parties and generally, it always comes down to a fun and fantastic time with power-ups and positive leitmotifs as outlines.
The world and cast of Mario are simply a great time and capturing that personality along with many potential references made me very excited for the movie right as it got announced. And having such a video game experience faithfully transferred to the big screen, that in itself was making for a supernice time. Catchy tunes, fun jokes and on top way nice displays for the characters made the movie for me an absolute hit! I am highly looking forward to when they might have a sequel including Yoshi; and then there is of course that already announced The Legend of Zelda movie.
Thinking of that, I sure had also a great time in 2023 with "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" which had a lot of atmosphere, exciting moments and many neat puzzling segments.
And you're welcome Marc, I'd be happy to share some things with you buddy and don't be afraid to share some stuff with me too, I may not always see it right away, but I will see it eventually :3 😊
Also Marc I hope you know that you are indeed a fun person to be around and I can really see the fun you're sharing, my totodude! ;)
Hehehe of course! He really is a little cute entertaining totodile! Sometimes he just needs those dudes to have fun with so he can know that he is very much loved! <3
Hehehe I know right?! I really think that sprites look very good considering it's on the Nintendo DS, I really like how the music fits well with the environment of the mystery dungeons, but yeah, considering how good the Explorers are in the DS, I do hope that they don't change that if they ever do a remake ^^
Overall I think the cinematic animated movie was well made and it actually felt like a real Mario movie! I also like the races and parties in the Mario world and I am also looking forward to both the sequel and the Legends of Zelda Movie ;D
Okay, I will remember that, though gotta add, there is a lot of info already present around my gallery and journals. I never really delete anything so if you are interested in me and the things I find neat, you just need to browse through there and you are likely to find loads of stuff, hehe. X3
Of course! Shiny's dudes are pretty much like a family to him so he gladly comes back for them whenever desired. He loves the happy company lots.
The atmospherical shots like the beach with the Krabby letting bubbles float away, or the Illumise dancing above the great water fountains as lights illuminate, even the stormy shot of the Sharpeedo Bluff, Treasure Town among other scenes, such are all just sticking with you as the player for how lovely they have been painted. Definitely one of the various highlights for me. The world is simply very captivating.
I know a bunch of people critisized with the Mario Movie that they found the story not engaging enough. I personally didn't feel that way at all, I admit. I guess it would have been nice to give Luigi a few more scenes though I found the brotherly dynamic between him and Mario very nice and thought he was great in how he rescued Mario when Bowser tried to attack Mario with fire when Mario was going for the Power Star. Simply hope the characters will all have lots of fun and quirky interactions in the sequel again and as said, Yoshi being the honeybun addition that people generally enjoy from the games either. Bowser was superfunny in a lot of scenes so it would of course be great to go there. No idea if and how they possibly could add Junior into all of it yet (perhaps Bowser finds an egg and adopts him or it just simply isn't addressed) but I could imagine that being another amusing addition for a sequel.
Oh and speaking of Paper Mario, does this remind you of Paper Mario? :3
