Breaking my silence with a new journal
Hi there, everyone.
Right away, thank you for being curious to have made it here. It's been a while again in terms of me submitting a written journal.
I don't want to make many excuses but one: Sorry if I wasn't much of a great support and got distracted so often. ó_ò'
That said, I feel lucky for whenever someone stopped by to share a message with me. There would actually be quite a lot of subjects that I could spend writing about. If you have been simply wondering how I've been:
I've been doing swimming sessions here and there next to my daily duties between last spring and autumn. It's been mostly two to three times each week for around seventy minutes. I started doing so with the outlook of finding a bit of a balance.
You must know, I once had a bad leg injury and got two surgeries which left me with an inability to take part in many sports. Swimming is in the category that I can do occasionally and as long as I don't overdo it.
Been at it until the winter days have brought in low temperatures while also maintaining a diet at the time. Successfully lost weight from it and received praise from people who noticed it. It's been a pleasant success and I plan to resume things once the temperatures are rising again. ^_^
---
In terms of special occasions, I have been doing a few minor things.
-First one has been me visiting a circus theater show in the neighboring city. The showgroup did a lovely performance, ranging from impressive acrobatic stunts, showcasing body control, rhythmic choreographies and strength, and various comedic clowning about that I just find way lovely and charming. Balloons, confetti, applause and cheer o'plenty, I tell you! I love the atmosphere! Big top magic! 🎪
-A relative of mine got married during summer. Me and my family went picking out a suit for myself and we had a nice time at the party when the day arrived. We danced to music, congratulated the married couple and later also would write well wishes on cards that we let float into the sky with helium balloons. It was a nice getogether.
-During late summer, I got the chance to eat at a restaurant downtown that changed their menu to serve Japanese style soup aka ramen. I had ramen only twice before and was thinking of checking it out because ramen to me has been rather tasty. The ramen I had was quite yummy as well and the soup's taste had that creamy texture that had a nice and mellow flavor to it. Might try it on another occasion again.
-Late autumn I spontaneously decided to watch a movie: "The Wild Robot". I actually was a bit late with that one because it was already its sixth week of being broadcasted in cinemas. Funnily that resulted in my watch becoming a private viewing, because aside from me nobody else was there. Might have had to do with that I watched it around 2PM.
That said, just wow! I had a great time with that one, emotionally and lovely styled, the Robot Roz, Brightbill and Fink had lots of heartfelt scenes and as someone who wasn't actually knowledgable of the book the movie was based on, I thought it was an absolute highlight. From the animated movies in 2024 I'd definitely give it my personal favorite.
-Aside from Christmas season usually being filled with extra shifts for me, I still remember going on a fun day trip to the mall with a dear relative of mine. We were looking for presents for another family member and while touring the various stores, we also took some time to have some sweet treats at the Christmas market booths. I had a dampfnudel (a yeast dumpling, which has a sweet bread texture and usually is eaten with vanilla sauce and poppy; though I personally like it with cooked cherries which add a fruitiness that goes nicely with the sweet) and my relative a crêpe with nutella.
Together we found all we needed and had a pleasant time. Was a nice day then, basically a prelude for Christmas day a few weeks afterwards. Hope everyone here also had some treats during the holidays. 🍰
Regarding this year, I hope I can get several things done. Aside from my random dabbling in creative projects I'd like to clear out some of my older stuff form childhood days, sorting also through my art supplies and some of my Totodile collectibles (mostly my little 2x2-binders).
---
There have been other things that caught my interest here and there but I guess it might be better to save such for more journals later on. I'm not really known for writing all too many and it might not be a bad idea to improve on that circumstance. =D
Anyways, to bring this journal to a close, let me wish you all much joy and love for V-day and say: Before looking for love out there, don't forget to give yourself some well deserved love either.
Friendly Totogreets from your Cupidile Shiny, too. (-^.=.^-)🏹💗

*leaves Shiny around for sharing some Totohugs*
If you need a listener or need an opinion, never hesitate to leave a message.

Also happy to hear you had a good time with your relative's marriage celebration and party. ^^
May there also be joyous and celebratory times ahead of you, Flare.
Ahehehe, hey!
*tries his best to not let the balloon float away as he's laughing and rolling on the floor*
Oh, you only wanted me to hold onto it for you? Okay. I see. Thanks for letting me hold it. I still find it cool you got a machine that can dispense balloons. <X3
Regarding the overhaul of your userpage, you know that you can make use of alt-code symbols, links and icon links as well as formatting codes that the website accept, right? If you want to take a look over on my profile, it uses all such elements to have colored texts, animated icons and mosaics to create a welcoming display.
As for me, I have news. I've been practicin digital art.
Oh, I never saw that cupid Shiny before, he's so cute! x3
Hah, you know me and how much I like any excuse to think of adorable outfits for him to have a happy time in. Shiny cosplaying I can always get behind. =D
I try to see that I get to share more often what is catching my interest in recent times. =3
Wishing you an enjoyable b-day celebration with your favorite people next week. =3
I’m really glad you still remember my name too!
Makes me thinks any other ways to reach you? Modern ones like telegram or discord perhaps?
Ah, much appreciated there. It is sadly something that permanently affects me (been at the hospital five years ago). I cannot kneel down for too long or do activities that would afford me to leap around much. I can occasionally dance and run for short distances.
Swimming is a good alternative as you can do it in your own pace and the buoyancy in the water does carry you while also training muscels with its slight resistance. I assume the one other option one could choose is adding gelatine to water and you'd have a level more of resistance, though swimming in slime is usually a teensy difficult to keep clean, haha. X3
2. If you feel the need to make content on here, do it at your own pace...Whatever you wish to make, that is on you.
It is pretty much the reason why I never caught up on whatever might have occured on such platforms. Lucky me, hehe. X3
Ah, I guess it's mostly a mix between that I simply have lots of spread out interests and I get easily distracted. I feel lucky for whenever someone enjoys a chat about whatever has been on their radar and I simply want to follow the example by opening up more often even if it might result in not as much feedback. I know how busy life can be and I want people to not feel forced to listen to big-jaw-me. XD
Same for me...The excitements I once had 20 years back is now the same nowadays, although I still hope to have it happen at some point in my life, even if it's minor. I somewhat get distracted, but that's due to losing track of time that, before I know it, it's already 12am/3am in the morning for me, and then having to go to sleep by then...Again, it's just a nice way for me to say "Take your time with what you wish to work on, or spend that time just having chats" type of thing...Which, to be honest, doing chats does help clear people's heads and gives out other life experiences that I would have not experienced (also, the Japanese restaurant you mentioned...I've eaten Oodles and Noodles/Top Ramen for years and it's my top favorite, but never the actual ramen at a Japanese Ramen shop/food place...I've had Sarku Japan and Top Ramen, but never the actual ramen in actual japanese shops...If I do find one, if I can afford it, I will try it and taste it; see how it tastes and feels compared to the ones I've had before...That one you mentioned made me feel envy that you have one conveniently in your town....Glad to see things have changed in your town since last time).
"I know how busy life can be and I want people to not feel forced to listen to big-jaw-me. XD" PFFTT!!! Nonsense, I don't care if you're gone for years or months at a time, so long as you enjoy what you love, that's all that matters. Heck, dropping in to tell others how you have been doing is a great way to keep up with who your favorite artist is doing at the moment, even if it's a minor update.
Hehe, I know it might be different from person to person but I tend to just only gain more and more inetrests over time, and it can be a bit of a juggling act to jump between them all. I definitely wanna go the route of sorting my inspirations and note them down at some point again. It's fun to brainstorm and see what may come from it, whether it's just mentioning them in a journal or putting them otherwise into creative projects.
In terms of conversations, I had it happen to me that some subjects I was excited to exchange over didn't cater in much reactions and that in itself can be slightly frustrating if you are in a situation you might be the minority of giving something obscure your appreciation and lacking folks to hear some new facts or personal attachement stories from.
Like with the restaurant I mentioned, most people I know just look at me in awkwardness thinking I have a werird taste. Europe is a place where you find all kinds of different restaurants and while some seem way popular some cuisines are just ostrichized by the general public. I might have to fear that random restaurant's change to Japanese dishes might not be around all that long. I definitely need to visit Japan someday and try more dishes you don't find at home. =3
And I appreciate the encouragement, Matt. Thanks.
Is there anything in particular you wish to be informed of? Maybe I am mistaken who you were referring to when saying "favorite artist" here, but for me personally, there exist lots of talented folks around the creative community. I personally might not have been able to follow around all sorts of galleries, but in the end I tend to find it neat when people have their unique tastes, styles and are likely particularly good with drawing certain designs or have a way with specific features in a subject.
Thinking of it, it would likely make for an interesting observation on what particular aspects in character art I find appealing. Though I actually already made a journal that goes into a few general points here:
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6992422/
Ohhhh That makes more sense now....I guess I never knew which continent you were actually from, and that part makes sense now....That makes sense now....I mean, it's more of a delicacy or something out of the ordinary I don't see too often, although we might have one in Randolph New Jersey that's a Japanese restaurant, but I have yet to find it or be able to pay for it (It's not cheap if you ask me)...But all in all, it really just comes down to what the person has been up to really, even if they're away from the platforms for a while.
When I mean "Favorite Artist", I only say that in general of "People who prefer (this person) to be their favorite artist are less likely to be picky about what the artist brings up instead of those that are brand new to the user" type of situation. It's not really anyone specifically, just in general that's all...Sorry for the confusion in that part....I think to me it just comes down to where artists go from there after taking a hiatus from their artwork and such.....
Again, when you made this journal, it feels like it's been 4 years since I've last come across your journal or earlier/later than that, so it's been a while since the last journal I would say and might have forgotten about the stuff you've mentioned last time....That's all it is...But again, even if someone were to disappear, I can find someone else in the mean time to occupy my time instead of just waiting for years for someone to return.
I guess I like a lot of different types of content overall. If it seems like a neat imagined and fun-and playful display of a scene, idea or characters, then I don't mind too much how skilled an artist is. It surely is best when you can recognize the characters and you get nice expressions.
And yeah, as said, would depend on what subject we are talking about. I can of course try to cater to some of your interests and think about what artists come to my mind that I found depicted it quite well in my opinion.
So yeah, it depends on how well the person does the projects or if it interests me at all, otherwise, not bothering to watch or read what the person has in mind.
Good to know, I have my preferences and which artist I like the most...If only the artists or individuals wouldn't close out their accounts and relegate it to archival status instead of deleting the submissions/content on their page...Just saying.
Of course...And uh, ShinyTotodude, as a person who doesn't explain things too well, not to mention being obese and tired, my mind has other issues to deal with or always sleepy, so it's hard to explain what I really have in mind if you ask me. And second, I'm not asking you to cater your work to my interests, I'm only saying to you that "Whatever you wish to make on your art page is up to you and I would be willing to see what you have made" type of thing. I'm not saying to cater ALL of your work to my interests, that would be insane. I just like to see what others work on, and even if I don't comment or favorite it, I at least bookmark the page so I don't forget what I looked at in the past.
No worries, I usually tell people when I'm not fond of an idea. If I try something then udually because it felt like an amusing idea.
In my last comment I was more so referring to that based of the named subject I could try remembering what other artists I ame across that might have submitted something that I thought looked well done.
I see...Again, I didn't want my comment to sound like as if I was putting my mentality onto you that is, that wasn't the purpose of that comment...So confusion can happen if you ask me.
Ahh okay...
For me it is personally all about the joy and passion of the characters. Whether they just have a pleasant relaxing time or have a surprising, sometimes silly and wacky circumstance; if you can imagine things ending up in a way you and the character can still feel amused by, then it is enjoyable i my book.
I like magical and toony concepts with characters being depicted in a soft and friendly manner as well as expressive fetures i terms of posing and their faces. And whether it's writing, drawing or crafting I can enjoy all of them as long as the charcter and their personality are depicted well.
I see.
For me it depends on how the series ends up, so mine doesn't stick with one franchise for too long, and becomes more casual as the years go by (I just don't bother watching TV shows sadly).
At this point, pretty much any of my questions or comments have been answered already, unless you like to mention something more you wish to share.
Much appreciated that you replied back that much and I wish you a lovely day yet, Matt. Much success with your short story writing among other potential plans. =3
The journal I made last time was to mention my tenth anniversary since I've been on this platform, and why I stopped uploading as a result of certain things that has happened in the past.
Thank you. And as always, feel free to chat with me via notes or something and we can talk again if you like. Take care. =D
Hiya Blacky! I wish you lots of joy and success with your potential convention trips and gaming and livestreaming. =3
I do have to say that i should been write you more often too ^^"
Sweet to hear that the marriage was nice ^^ I always wonder what will happen with the ballons afterwards. They will either pop or land and not that some person gets like 20 or 40 cards out of nowhere ^^"
Hmm, I assume the wind likely scatters them around enough that the remainings land on the floor comparable to autumn leaves. The cards are actually only as big as normal playing cards so that the helium balloons can carry them.
Well, I may not be the most chatty guy at the moment, but I'll still check in from time to time, when I can. Especially while in online school.
Still, I missed you, little guy.
Hiya Rupert. It's a pleasant surprise to see your name popping up in my messages.
Ah...I guess that description fits. I was definitely surprised. <X3
Oh, I definitely find it flattering that you missed Shiny. If ever necessary, pick up the conversations and tell me in which way you think he's not been seen often enough. Knowing you it's likely connected to his occasional description of little Totodilooner. I remember how you liked to poke at him with flustering treatment calling him cute in such moments of him admring big toys every now and then. It sure is an amusing image aside the cheerful and bouncy times. =3
It's really nice to hear from you again <3
I'm glad that you're trying to get a pretty good balance for yourself!
Despite some sad things happening like your leg injury, it is nice to know that you've still had some fun moments recently ❤️
I haven't seen the wild robot yet but I have seen the trailers and they looked pretty good ^w^
You deserve the love to be sent right back to you, buddy :D
Much appreciated and I am happy for all the enjoyable times everyone is sharing with me. Best wishes to you and all you hold dear, Case. ^_^💛
I took a glance over to your journals. I hope things will end up positive and that you can keep avoiding negative changes in your living situation. Much luck to you, Caleb.
Haha, yeah, I am around though because of daily duties, my relatives and other things popping up, I tend to get sidetracked from engaging into creative projects. I still try to help out folks and be supportive whether they like to have a friendly chat or just wish to listen about a fellow community member's joy for character arts and exchange ideas and suggestions. Glad to help feel friendly folks welcome. =3
