Big journal incoming[/i]🔸Quick update on my laptop situation... its... somehow alright now?
Like I'm still using my other screen right now, but all the weird lines and freezing issues seem to have just... gone?
Its like my laptop just needed a rest lmao. Problem could come back, but everything has been fine with it so far.
I'll probably be thinking about upgrading to a proper tower PC at some point.
🔸My bedroom flooded... along with a few other rooms in our house. We live in a bungalow (aka 1 floor, very long house). Luckily my computer stuff is all the way at the other side of the house.
But damn man this is probably the worst damage I've seen happen.
Long story short- dad is trying to put in a new shower cos the handle of the old one broke off. It wasn't the best shower, so we upgraded.
But it meant he needs to cut back some pipes to be able to fit it, so he took the time to get new valves in too.
ONE of them, the hot water one, has been a pain in the ass.
It burst once on Saturday 13th while I was in the bathroom. Luckily the water was minimal. It did dampen my room (which is next to it), but it wasn't all that bad.
Dad was able to fix it, seal it tight. He marked the pipe to see if it'd move.
It didn't for several says.
Then just yesterday, when he went outside and me n mum were at the other end of the house, it just suddenly burst again. No clue how long it'd been going for, but this time it actually pooled up.
Bathroom, my room and parents room got flooded, though mine was by far the worst. Parents was overall okay. We were able to stop the water at least, and dad had this water vacuum he bought on a sheer WHIM one day. Took 2 hours to clear the bathroom and a further like 2 hours to suck up the water from my bedroom.
So mines a carpet, and every step you took you could see the carpet ripple like water. I was able to move all of my stuff out... tbh nothing of true value was lost. Old college work? Dont care for it really. Some old posters? Bout time I got rid of them.
At worst my wardrobe got wet at the bottom, but nothing inside was caught so thats good.
Right now- one terrible sleep later on a drop down bed, parents pulled up all the carpet so now its just concrete. Apparently that could take all of summer to fully dry up. So I'll be sleeping in a... rather blank room for a while. Not that i mind all that much. Tbh might be perfect for summer.
Only assumption we have with the pipes is that the pressure is way too high. Dad did another test and its like 6 on the scale? I forget what the metrics are. Apparently 5 is dangerous and it should be between 3-4 🙄 Least thats what he said. One of dads friends helped out a lil today check some things. Gonna get a de-humidifier, he bought a bigger water vacuum thing too in case it happens again.
We'd hire a plumber but apparently there's just none in our area, and if ya do get one it'd take MONTHS for them to get to you... like... seriously? Damn I really do need to call the Super Mario Brothers on the double.
To top that all of, after arriving home yesterday in high spirits before the flood, my cars hand brake broke too, joy.
There is no such thing ass perfect day.
I was feeling pretty shit last night, but to be fair- I'm feeling tons better today.
I saw this tumblr post about a story that kinda connected with me. Two Tigers and a Strawberry.
To sum it up, its says even when things are looking bleak all around you, find joy in the smallest of things.
Tbh I can get with that a lot. I mean... I bought some Krispy Kremes to kinda celebrate finishing my work coverage this week, and you know what I did after we sorted the flooding? I ate a fukkin donut and it was delicious.
Life will beat you down, but you just gotta look for the little things that bring you joy to help you through. Treat yourself, be kind to yourself.
🔸 Adopt raffle, yeah! So... it was meant to be for Christmas... yeah... hah... its mid April now. If that doesn't tell you how my year has been going idk what will. But yeah, hoping to do that soon.
Gonna treat it like the last winter adopts I did. So FA is the better place to enter than twitter cos you KNOW how bad that site has gotten. Pretty sure most entries will be lost there.
I'm hoping to have 5 days off soon, so I'll run it during that time hopefully.
More updates on that later!
🔸 Break... Hiatus...
So idk how to really word this, my mind has been a mess lately. But I want a serious break this time.
How long will it last? Could be a month, 2 months, 6, maybe a year, who knows.
I mostly want to step away from nsfw content. Yeah, BAFFLING, I know.
But I wanna focus on some other things for a while, namely my sfw accounts.
I'll probably still be sprinkling a few pics here and there tho...
Like I have the OC challenge I still fully intend to do. And maybe I'll tap into some sfw comic things. Or ecchi at most, basic nudity, but no cRaZy porn.
Look youtuber retirements got me thinking too. I'm kinda thinking of it more like MatPat rn where yes, he's retired from Game Theory, but he's still on GTLive and has other things he wants to do.
I have Lar's story I'd like to possibly work on again. Thats like 8 years old and he isn't even a LATIOS yet.
Juggling a nsfw account and a sfw account is HARD, especially when you have an irl job. And I dont have the same energy I used to.
I'm fully aware now too I aint coloring the rest of that comic, fuuuck that. At this point its 'get the story told' instead of looking nice. Like One Punch Man...
I'm one guy, what do you expect?! Idk how people can focus on a whole comic series themselves.
Take all that with a grain of salt. Cos my mind is still a mess, so it could all amount to nothing.
But a change does sound nice.

Really hope the pipe issue gets resolved without further drama and pain. It might be worthwhile to get a simple rug for your room, at least where you'll get out of bed in the mornings or something like that.

That bathroom and flooding situation is just insane. Least it affected only things that you don't have a use for. Still it could have been way worse, and that's tough to think about.
A lot of rough stuff happening in your life I can see. But glad you can still enjoy the small things. Krispy Kreme is the best imo.

From what you all talked about, I don't blame you for wanting to take a break. And Honestly, you deserve it, especially with what happened.

The bathtub situation just feels like a disaster in of itself, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem much longer.
While NSFW can be exciting and amazing to see, there's plenty of SFW stuff that also holds a lot of charm and wonder. When it comes to art a person should do what makes them happy and what they enjoy seeing. Taking a break also is good.

I hope things go better! I like the idea of finding small good things even if things aren't going your way. I believe that's a good thing to keep in mind anytime.
And, no rush with your winter adopts. There's nothing to worry about even if they don't take place on winter. Winter can be a time that can be thought of and idealized, it's something that people can think about no matter the time of the year. And well, when it's summer in the northern hemisphere, it's winter in the south.
I appreciate your sfw art too, the way you make lore is fun and inspiring. I also think it'll be fun to see the rest of Lar's comic. I recall you telling us about how his story went (on other pics), however, I believe it'll still be fun to see how it plays out in the comic, and see the thrill of his adventure.
I fully support stepping away from NSFW if it feel like too much effort. Non-horny art is still art, dammit!
