Either definitely works and helpless can lead to some fun situations for sure! But I’m a sucker for a willing lee, who happily submits to it because they enjoy it. A situation where both the ler and the lee is having a good time is just awesome imo!

They both have different appeal.
What I like is someone who loves being tickled, and has tickling forced upon them, by someone who enjoys tickle-torturing others and doesn't mind if their victim actually enjoys it.
Having the choice taken away, but it leading to a result you'd enjoy anyways, is a fantasy I adore.
