Recently I discovered that Lance Elliot (a former friend of mine) has been posting AI “art” on Twitter. His fursona is called Samantha Vixen, but I’m just gonna call him by his real name. I was friends with him on Facebook up until around the last quarter of 2021 due to some things he posted. It’s not like it matters anymore because he has been supposedly banned because of one of his commissions contained nudity. I never really interacted with him over the next 4 years. Fast forward to today when me and Humphrey Blackwell (one of my mutuals) discovered that Lance has been using Stable Diffusion to generate “artwork”. Lance has also been using Grok to generate “animation”, and it looks significantly worse than the shit that I took yesterday. Using Stable Diffusion or any other generative AI program does NOT make you an artist; it makes you a fraud, a bullshitter, and a clanker. Lance even has the audacity to throw real artists under the bus on his Twitter. Did you expect anything less from someone who has “social media influencer” in their profile? Humphrey made a post calling out Lance, and I’m including a link to the post. He also posted about this on Bluesky. The fact that Lance would sink this low is where I draw the fucking line, and I had no choice but to block him. There’s no fucking way I could ever forgive him for this.
