Critique Requests - November 2010

Welcome to the November 2010 Critique Request journal! This is a place where artists can request open critique on specific piece(s) of their art. Posting does not guarantee you will receive critique, of course, but could make it much more likely. :) All are welcome to participate (you need not be a member of i_love_critique) but please read the rules before posting!
RULES:
1. You may submit ONLY your own art.
2. Fill out the form (below) for EACH image URL, and cut & paste it into your comment.
3. All art types are welcome (visual, music, writing, etc.) just please make sure to specify the medium (watercolor paint, short story, Maya, cello...) in your request so people with expertise in that medium can find you more easily.

Other Notes: This is a finished commission, but one of the best backgrounds I have done to date. What could I have done to make it better? I tried to bring in colors from both halves but I do feel that this suffers from feeling like it's too images spliced together which was not my aim. I won't be redoing this piece, but i do want to learn from it where I'm lacking.
Secondly, I know it's suffering a little from smeary face (it's much more obvious if you hold up a mirror or flip the image) does anyone have any tips for keeping the faces from smooshing to the side? i worked with a mirror when sketching and thought i had fixed it...but didn't realize how bad it still was until I colored it.

Other Notes: I wasn't sure that going with red for the building in the foreground was a good idea, should I have gone the more timid route and used a light gray instead?
...that way you'll avoid hiding a lot of comments, [looks bad also :3 ]
This is very well done..... the proportions are well applied in my opinion.
I'd like to say that the arm looks rather broken after the elbow, not sure that's how a arm falls over. I'm still in the process of anatomy drawings, so i can't add more to it.
Other thing is shadows, IMO there should be shadows of her tail, and of herself on the floor, the darkness reflecting the intensity of the light source you have,

You could use more crossing in the fire coming out of the dragon's mouth, make it more like layers, one flame in front of the other flame.
Ohh I didn't think of changing the fire like that, I'd be willing to bet it would look better that way.

Any specific areas you want help with: I very rarely draw canines, so some feedback on that would be nice. Most importantly though, I'd like feedback on my human anatomy, and I'm kind of clueless when it comes to folds in clothing.

Other Notes: I'm very VERY new to digital media. This is only my second digital picture. Ever. So if you could give me any tips, that'd be wonderful. I'm kind of clueless of what my program (Photoshop Elements 8) is capable/what all of the buttons do. Also, I seem to have some difficulty with feline anatomy in general (which is PATHETIC because they're what I draw 90% of the time), so if you know any awesome tutorials or have any awesome reference photos, PLEASE share them with me!
