hmm not much to say, except a word "disappointed" =.=
the problem is, what kind of fur is considered as a CUB. Literally speaking, all fur-characters under the age of 18, or have a look like that, is considered as a cub.
And if that applied to FA's silly AUP, at least 30% submissions on FA will have to been removed, and what we have left is a bunch of beefcakes or O-so-tasteless clean stuff... enjoy the living hell, puppies >:D
oh and one more thing, Inkbunny has Alertpay, and they never (haven't?) get dropped even though they have so many naughty cub pics. I can find more living examples if you want. So, what have you done, FA? What have you done to bring yourself such discrimination?

But I will agree with you here... it IS kind of fishy that Inkbunny is still going strong and FA is suddenly in the hole. >.>;
But there's also rumors going around that this was just an attempt to ask for site donations by scapegoating cub porn and saying that AlertPay dumped them so people would feel 'sympathetic' and would throw money their way. :x I don't really know what to believe anymore, to be honest, but I'm pretty sure the admins wouldn't stoop that low to get money for the site. I just hope things get sorted out soon and hope that FA doesn't die off. It'd be a real shame to see it go.

Just hit up google for 'alert pay horror stories' or something along those lines. You'll find quite a number of them.
I've thinking of trying moneybookers (or something like that). Gonna be looking into it eventually.
And when it comes time for me to get my own account to take commissions, I'd go straight for a merchant's account/license. I've heard about it and basically it gives you free reign on whatever you'd like to do, so long as it's not illegal activity. I'm not quite sure of the site, but all of these pay sites like paypal actually go through them.

Can you tell when it's real or not? Now I don't mean something stupid like saying a drawing is the same as a photo but in relation to what created it.
For instance take Frank Gembeck JR, once a beloved artist to many with his girly-boy men/mid-teens characters.
Only they weren't entirely characters as the guy was using actual child pornography as reference material for his art and went to jail for it.
Now I'm not saying all cub artists do that, but you can see why companies [and many people] would want to stay the hell away from such a hugely risky area that even -could- be involved in the real sick shit and that's mere association holds such a life destroying stigma.

Just because some states the age is 16, doesn't make it ok for the entire nation.
Not really an exception to the rule, more of an anomaly.
In those states where people can give consent at 16, they still can't vote.
So they're not considered adults nationally.
If they went to other states and had sex, it'd still be illegal.
there never is a nationally, it's just the concept in each one's own mind. you can't measures mind, it is something abstract and can't be calculated by a single stupid number. the only thing measurable is the law, then. Which means, even if you don't think it's right it is still a stupid rule that you have to OBEY (or jail yiffness awaits >:D)

Not everybody can be pleased, only the majority. The majority believes that 18 is the coming of age year, therefore, those people are pleased.

Actually, if you reread the AUP, anything that even LOOKS underage can be banned "at admin discretion" and as we all know, the admins are dicks and love deleting/banning.

And heck, almost every single one of my submissions has a completely naked creature most of which are definitely under 18, but my stuff won't get pulled for being cub. :)
depends on the artist's art style and the viewer's esthetic, a single pic can turn into many different versions. then how to you tell it is completely not cub?

On the other hand, the AUP and the TOS are things we agree to and we're told things can change (heck I've seen changes occasionally on other non-art sites).
After reading the post by Dragoneer (today's post from the time stamp) I understand the situation. It boils down to keeping the site running and funded by sacrificing some of the content member's post.
I'm a bit of a "Gray Mussel" as some would say who know me, and I can remember similar problems for Non-Furry media (specifically radio stations back in the 1980's who were targeted for boycotts by certain goodie too shoes). From Dragoneer's post... it's similar.
My feeling is that we have to roll with it. When there's such a gray area, and it's affecting funding it's a classic "Fish or Cut Bait" situation.
I understand the frustration of my fellow FA'ers but I also understand Dragoneer's position and appreciate his forthrightness.

Even if it's 30% of all porn, I don't think 30% of all adult submissions are cub.
It still won't make 30% of whatever's left, honestly. Otherwise, I'd have seen a LOT more of it. XD
I understand because they're looking out for themselves. They want to keep the site going and all that hooha. making money is a big priority, and if that means getting rid of something that is frowned upon in the fandom and the general populace, then they will do it.
I DON'T understand how they're even going to go about this. I'm seeing it as this: This might end up chasing off a lot of members if they decide to be really strict about it. But if they're too light about it, they might lose even more people. It's really a lose lose situation for FA. I personaly like some cub art (including you, Darkgoose. ^.=.^) and I just really think this isn't going to be any good to anyone.

one funny fact is that, I tried to draw a char with standard body but much smaller head, it looks like adult, but when I increase the proportion of the head, it looks like cub. so who's going to judge that and what standard they'll use? After reading ... yes .... THE ENTIRE post here I'm one of the few, who will gladly admit I love your cub pics(and a few other well known artists who do cub ) <3 they are all amazing and will be throughly missed here by me. So (if not Inkbunny) once you decide where to start posting your new work I'd love to get a message from you , or to see a journal entry saying where you're going to be posting them.
For me is cub art with a age under 14.

I also am personally against cub porn because it's technically a depiction of child pornography, which is illegal almost globally. I don't mind the fact that it exists, just don't go posting it on a popular website where the majority of the demographic is against it.
