Holy shit, why'd you lose the job?

I'm currently job hunting, I'm also taking commissions... my living situation is just, ugh. I don't know if you can relate, but you can have an idea, right? =/

Oh, I know why. And it's partially my fault,a dn partially jsut becaues people are cruel. I kinda teasingly said stuff about other people I work with (and if you ask them, I'm sure they'll agree that I was just joking) but people took it seriously and told my boss, and he had to let me go because of that. He's a nice guy, though. so he says he'll try and help me find a new job, but who knows how long it'll take to find one, there's so many places not hiring now-a-days...

Ah, haha... same here, they thought I was lacking "respect" because I just happened to have a good friend there whom I laughed with and cracked jokes with, frig, the customers loved me, productivity was excellent, my sales were great, but y'know. "We can't rely on someone who shows these things so soon," I just... didn't want to cope so meh.

I just think people don't know how to deal with light-hearted, fun-loving people >.<

No, they just don't want to take risks and when something doesn't fit their "profile" they become dubious and question the employee.

It happens a lot, it's actually rare if they discharge you just because they happen to dislike you or something. There's always a reason, but they don't always directly tell you the reason, you've to pry it out of them, heh.

I can't believe they let you go cause of that. That is so wrong! None the less, I can't make any promises, I get payed soon so I'll see what I can do. *offers hankie*

Don't feel so bad, Shinigami. Back in 2k5 I managed to lose 6 jobs in a single year, and by the time I got one I could hang onto, I was down to my last 80 dollars between checking, savings, and cash, and had about 500 dollars in bills coming up in a month. One of the biggest problems people have when they lose a job is that they are generally too proud to just take whatever comes along to pay the bills till something GOOD comes along. Its a big reason why there are the amount of homeless people there are (though not the only one).

Just see if CDX will take ya out for some comfort food for a day or two (I've found that after losing a job, a nice plate of piping hot chinese, followed an hour later by some rich chocolate Ice Cream really helps settle your nerves) and then hit the ground running. You see a job you think you can do? Call the peeps and say "Hey, You're hiring, I'm looking. Match made in heaven, right?" Another helpful tip: If they accept your resume, and don't respond within a week, give them a call and say "Hey, could I set up an interview for "x" position?" They will usually try and help ya set one up, though if they say that the person who does that is out, try and find out roughly when they will be back, and then call back at a later time when they are around.

When I landed my most recent job, I got lucky, in that I called the place after getting out of one of my college classes early, and had 45 minutes to the next one. So I set up an interview for 8 minutes from then (its a 10 minute drive to the interview location), hauled ass over there, had the interview, got the job, and was back in classes with 5 minutes to spare. Employers LOVE to see you hustle for the opportunity they offer.

Thanks for the advice, Allabaster, I'll defiantly keep it in mind. And I am willing to really take anything that comes my way, and I'm already looking for jobs, so hopefully it won't be to long I"m jobless, but living in a college town right next to the mall, it's hard to find openings sometimes, heh.

That sucks. I wish I could help you out but like many others commissions are my only source of income. I haven't been commissioned in a long time. I don't think anyone gives a shit about my crappy art.

Apparnetly you have to be popluar before people will even consider. My art is only wanted if I'm doing it for free. I stopped doing Gaia commissions because I can't afford to keep giving my art away.
