A fond farewell to a beloved friend

Two hours ago, Frisky, my cat and closest friend for 6 years, died in my arms from a stroke. He seemed just fine, but then he spasm and seemed unable to draw breath. I did everything I could to try to save him, even going so far as giving him mouth-to-mouth, but my friend slipped away. I held him in my arms as the life left his body. I am, understandably, extremely upset. I will probably not be responding to any messages for several days at least. Please leave me to my grief for now. I'll post a journal when I'm ready to talk again
