A musical interlude...
First off, I want to send a MAJOR thank you to wolfbrother9393. I'm not sure how many of you remember my latest commission of Whisper "Do you know where hell is...?" by cylnx (artist's and original copy posted here. Well...Wolfbrother was kind enough to do a musical piece to accompany the art at the request of cy:

...I have no words. As much as I love music, it really goes along well with the mood and emotion of the piece. It's official everyone: Whisper has reached the point of epicness and is ready to kick butt and ask questions later, lol. But in all seriousness, I am truly humbled and really want to thank both cy and wolf for their combined works in this commission- it really is my favorite piece to date. Please feel free to go to both their pages and see their works
And to think this journal was going to be a rant but seeing that just made my day! hmph, darn you life, bursting my ranting bubble *shakes a fist at life* Fine, fine, I'll -try- to keep this journal upbeat, but only because I'm in a good mood dang it!
You know you're a geek when...
So I get off work and before I can even get my house good, my dad calls me to come down to his house (he lives only three houses away from me). Apparently his computer has been acting wonky so he spoke with norton, his antivirus company (that's the first mistake he made; he used norton as his antivirus), and one of the Symantec IT reps took control of his pc (that was mistake 2 & 3) to fix it *facepalms* so I'm not even out of my workclothes, I'm tired and cranky but when I heard that I was like "no, that's not gonna do..." so I drag down to his house and sure enough, this guy is controlling his pc. I took over the keyboard and when the guy found out I was computer literate, and a female? Boy, did his tone change! LOL. I'll admit, I suck when it comes to internal pc components and repair but I can handle most minor issues or simple trojans/viruses. So me and the techy guy had a nice little chat about how my dad's pc had way too much lag on the bootup screen, installation issues and drivers- and somewhere between discussing a bsod and trying my damnest not to throw my dad's pc out the window for being slow as molasses? my dad calls me a geek...
*blinks* I have to admit, I wasn't sure whether to laugh or feign offense to that since my dad's never called me one before- only took him, what 27 years to catch on? Ah well. After raging and toying with his pc and chatting with the IT guy, I finally called it a night, because, well to be blunt I was tired, hungry and have work in the morning. I'll rip norton off his pc this weekend, install something better (and more reliable) along with purging his pc of gah knows how much other junk is on there that needs to be off. Unfortunately, my dad is not very computer savvy so he's probably got a ton of unnecessary crap on his pc that shouldn't be there.
Stay tuned for the next journal when I take on installing my first video card! Err, maybe. One of my friends was kind enough to send me a video card to replace my current one (identity withheld unless he/she chooses to be credited). I haven't decided yet but I -think- I might try to fix it on my own this weekend depending on my mood. I'm feeling oddly brave and geeky right now *pulls out a "Video card installation for dummies- now with pictures!" guide and skims over it*
...yeah on second thought, I better check and make sure my old hp still works just to be on the safe side. Anyway, have a good one y'all~
