What's up wolfcat?
"...right now? the sun's up of course!" [feels the glare of a certain dragon for such a reply- was worth it though]
This journal's mostly an update for some of my close friends or watchers that know me very well but heck, any of y'all are welcome to read it; I have nothing to hide- it just might bore the hell out of rest of you. It's mostly in regards to my job, gaming and other stuff I've been up to since I've had a few people note or ask me what I've been up to lately yet I've been either depressed, busy or tending to real life matters. Basically it's like a "Q&A session" only with ranting included
What's going on with your job? Did you get laid off?! and if so, what will you do
Without going into details- the hospital I work at will be converted from a state to private facility. Meaning people in the area that aren't able to afford insurance, medications and other health programs? Will now have to pay out of pocket or some form of aid will have to be offered for healthcare and their needs because our wonderful governor is too proud to accept help when it's offered to him- but I don't like discussing politics so we'll skip that. Point is, with a few exceptions, ALL state workers were laid off from the state hospitals- from Civil Service to be exact, and had to reapply for our jobs under the private company that bought out the hospital. The new company informed us that only 90 percent of us would get our jobs back (...). How...reassuring.
Anyway, after six interviews, I'm happy to say five managers were very interested in me: one turned me down because she point blank said "You could do this job...very well actually. But you'd be bored out of your mind doing it and probably underpaid for that matter" and recommended I either keep my current job or find something more challenging and then went through the jobs I applied for and told me what to focus on or turn down based on my qualifications *blinks* How many managers are THAT honest with you? Such respect is cool in my books. Another manager told me if my manager didn't offer me a job by a certain date, she'd gladly have me (...). Huh. In the end, I had two serious job offers but decided to stay with my current job because it was best for me and my sanity- and I even got a little raise, will have full benefits (insurance, life insurance, 401K option and all that fun stuff) so yay for that.
So...if everyone got laid off, how's the hospital running?
I've been asked this question so much I'm sick of it. It's actually a simple process- the layoff doesn't take effect until October 1. Right now we've been handed layoff notices- in which time we have three options: reapply for our jobs (and hope to get it back), retire from the state or find another job. On Sept 30 at 11:59pm, the transition will take place: the hospital won't shut down or stop running- it'll just go on like normal only now it'll be considered private *shrugs*
So tl;dr- I still have a job (thank gah) and everything's okay now- thanks for everyone that's been concerned about me.
Anything else going on in your life?
Nah, just work mostly. Otherwise all is nice and quiet. I've mostly been quiet due to stress and depression regarding my job but now that things have settled down a little, I should be -slightly- more talkative. Uh...what else? I have been working out ALOT and am proud to say that so far I've lost nearly 20 lbs over the summer and dropped two sizes! *wolfcat flexes* I swear it doesn't feel like it though but everyone says they can definitely see a difference in my appearance. Dang right, considering I've been waking up at 5 almost every morning to hit the treadmill, hmph. And yes, I plan to keep this up; it's not just "Ooh, I need to lose weight to impress some superficial dumbass or squeeze in a tight pair of pants that I'll only wear a few times!" I'm doing this for ME so I can feel better about myself and boost my self esteem.
Still raging over games? What games are you playing right now?
I have been playing the new Final Fantasy XIV mmo- though I probably won't be playing much since I don't have a free company (guild) or friends to play with so it makes doing instances horrible- kinda like WoW; there's only so many bad pugs a person can take before I want to smack the crap out of someone. So I'll probably go back to Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2 or grab Castlevania on steam. Played the demo and loved it
...
I don't rage dang it. I just play very seriously. My keyboard, mice and controllers just feel the blunt of said seriousness sometimes.
How's your love life?
"How'syour lack of love life being single and drama free going?" There, fixed that for ya! I've come to terms with being single and I'm not trying to find a guy nowadays. Now that I know my job's secure I'll either get a dog or bird to keep me company instead; more reliable and loyal that's for sure *nods*
How's the beast (aka- computer from hell) doing?
Fine, fine...I think I've been pushing the gpu and video card quite a bit with all the gaming I've been doing lately but otherwise it's running fine. I'll probably buy a new case or fans for it down the road so it can breathe a bit better
There, that's all for now. Feel free to ask me anything else but now? lazy wolfcat is lazy, time to do something relatively constructive for the day...like work.

sucks about the hospital though :(
...oi.
Anyway, how have things been on your end? Liking your new job?
I'm hoping they will hire me full on but if Isa gets a better job than me, I can go to work for Wren at his store he's opening up full time...so, I may have 2 jobs soon, but the repair shop will be only 3 days a week for a while.
*nods* well the hospital will be opening all the remaining jobs we didn't get to the public shortly- not sure what type of job he's looking for but let me know if he wants to apply for something here; I'll try to put in a word for him.
Also, shame about the job, all the workers get cut on my sister's bday; if we lived closer then I'd have dragged you to a casino with us. xD
Yeah, things have been...rough lately but at least I still have my job. And heck yeah! I would have loved to have get away for a bit and destress at a casino (seriously why don't we live closer? blah)
...anyway, what you been up to lately? any new games or things going on in your life?
Uhh... I enrolled at a uni, started working in a zoo and went on a ketogenic diet? (I'm sure there's a lot of other crap that I can't think of). XP
...what the hell?! We don't talk for what seems like a few weeks (maybe months) and you've done THAT much? Someone's been busy! Nice to hear you're in school...and even got a job working at a place most furries would love to have (what are you doing there if you don't mind me asking?)
Huh, ketogenic diet huh? Haven't heard of it, will have to look it up. I've just been eating the same thing as usual, just in smaller portions and working my butt off, trying to exercise 30-45 minutes, 3-4 times a week. It's working, slowly but surely
I poke around "the site" occasionally, but that's about it.
One of the good things about uni (I suppose) is the constant walking around, shit knows I need more exercise! XD
...eh, I need to get on skype sometime and just poke you there- comments aren't enough to catch up on weeks and months worth of news
Sorry I haven't had time to properly reply to you on messenger but whenever you message me, I'm either tired as crap and gone to bed early (that's been the norm nowadays) or busy gaming, ha. My only free time nowadays seems to be the weekends; we'll have to eventually sit down when you get some spare time and catch up- I'd love to hear how you're liking your job so far
