Unexpected.

Well, I guess Halloween's over. Man how time flies...I do however have some very important things going on in my life right now. For the past month my Great Grandmother on my mom's side has been in the hospital for fluid around her heart/breathing difficulties. Just the other day my mother got a phone call saying the doctor was going to put a feeding tube in my grandma because it was the only way she could eat at this point in time.
I'm worried for her, but also for my mom because her grandma was like her second mom. They've always been real close so if she goes this next week (like everyone keeps implying around us) then I don't know. It'll be really sad..I love my grandma too.
Sooo I picked up a "Get Well" card for her, and an "Unexpected Death" card for my sister's best friend's mom.
On October 29th, around 10pm my sister's best friend was found dead in his bedroom. He hung himself...we're all still in shock about it. He was such a sweetheart, so gentleman-like and he was a kid that could be trusted. I always knew as long as my sister was with him, she was safe. Safe from the bullies/mean girls who picked on her for being the new girl in this town..and those who called her a "skank" or a "slut" because she had a guy for a best friend. (Yesterday that same group of girls visited my sister and hugged her, apologizing for being b%tches to her before.)
So yesterday afternoon Victoria(my younger sister), Mom and myself got dressed and went to the viewing of his body. Poor Victoria...I mean, I was crying hard and I didn't spend every day (literally, they spent everyday together) with him. Of course she hadn't actually seen him dead when she went over, the cops were already at his mother's house questioning everyone/everything. So she gently moved the collar of his shirt down to see where the (whatever her used) had left its mark. God, I cringed at the sight...and she broke down in tears. I held her close to me and rested my head gently atop hers...rubbing her back and holding in my own crying whimpers. After a few minutes had passed, we came to a solemn agreement that hey...at least he looked peaceful, and he was dressed in what he normally would wear. Victoria said he wanted to wear suits more often..but that what he had on was best suited for his personality.
We told her we would let her be alone with him for as long as she needed, so my mother and I waited for her out in the lobby of the home. There were some really nice photos of him posted by the visitor's book. I could see why he liked wearing suits, they looked good on him.
After maybe 5 minutes she came walking out and went straight out the door to our van. It was a quiet car ride until we were in sight of a Starbucks. I saw her face like she wanted something from there, but she was crying too much to tell us. So I kind of tapped Mom's shoulder and nudged her to look over at the sign. We went through the drive-thru and left her order whatever she wanted. For a moment we got kind of irritated at the girls who were working the window. They were laughing and joking with each other instead of finishing my sister's smoothie. Like one girl was holding her unfinished drink and laughing.
"Look's like they're hard at work..." My sister rolled her eyes and stared at them.
I think they got the stare and finished. XD
So after that she told Mom that she was going walking, we were already running errands and asked her if she wanted to tag along but...she wanted to be alone so that was fine. When we arrived back home we noticed a white SUV pulled up by Victoria and a few other teens. I can only guess were his friends and then his mother was driving the vehicle. So yesterday around 8pm Victoria went over to the family's house and they had a gathering with a preacher and lots of fun stories/photos of [her friend]. We waited and waited for her to come home, but later we found out she decided to just stay the night at the close friend/neighbor's house.
The funeral service is this morning/later this morning and I don't know what we're wearing. It was unexpected.
