Great Lakes fur con review

It is Monday morning. I have a flat tire. mu compressor is bust. I have to return to a job that I hate with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.
BUT!!!!
The
Review.
Very nice. And not in just that polite way you say it when you're just being nice by sayin "very nice" this convention was just that, very nice. It had a pool, pfft, not just a pool. An AWESOME POOL OF WATERSLIDE. annnd also a nice hot tub to relax everything you threw out whilst suiting and other shenanigans.
It was very well located. Just off the highway right next to a mall with mall stuff that I didn't see or use. Because let's be honest. It was colder than a polarbear's nutsack this weekend. So not many people suited outside the con. Maybe next year when the apocalyptic ice storm from hell is back over Alaska where it belongs.
But it is located well. The convention that is.
It was...small and it had all the advantages and disadvantages of being a first year small con. But it worked in its favour to make a chilled, relaxing sort of convention.
Sharpe had a couple panels. I reigned in my peanut gallery commentary as best I could. Which was actually poorly. She did great. Had a cold and can't speak now. Which has its own advantages and disadvantages. *ducks frying pan*
I luv u dearest. Ur the bestest.
Oh ummm the dances kindof sucked. But I think they were expecting more people to show up to do DJ competition. So. What happened were: the dance started at a rave pace. Which is wayyyyyyuuuu too fast to dance in suit without dying. Which I did. Fourty minutes after the dance started I was dead. We danced to dubstep in the artists alley instead
Speaking of which that was open till about midnight. Or later. It was awesome.
Umm. Details are getting fuzzy. I saw a lot of people who I wil need prompting to remember. It's not you it's me. I always have been fuzzy on remembering people.
Heh. Fuzzy.
Oh yeah final note. The hotel staff was wonderful, we had the receptionist sing puppy love and who let the dogs out as sharpe and I danced in the lobby.
The guests, that was a grab bag from "what the hell?!" To "hey listen to my Elmo voice" and "so. Is there like some sort of contest?"
Anyways. Fun times and a good break from the midwinter blues. Now back to nuggles before soul sucking work.

Sounds like it would've been nice to go to. I had the time but no one to go with, or a room, so that idea got shot fairly quick. MFF overwhelmed the shit out of me and made me feel pretty lonely, to be honest. I'd probably have preferred this from the sound of it.

Not to say I didn't have fun at MFF, but winging it solo like I ended up doing for MFF didn't really work out so great; at a small con it sounds like it has higher chances of working out.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun, even from those of us who were staff...I was in Ops most of my time, but even as I worked, I played...You should definitely try to come next year! And if the weather decides to play nice, unlike this year, the con will be a whole lot more fun. There was some stuff that got scrapped due to the wild, wacky weather. I was watching the weather the two weeks leading up to the con lol. Everyone seemed to have fun though.

Heh, my problem is finding people to go with, more than anything. I had the free time, but no one willing to let me tag along with them. I probably wouldn't deserve it, though. I dunno.

Don't say that! Doesn't hurt to ask sometimes either. There were people there this year that had trouble finding roommates this year too. Think positive!
