Yeah, a lot has changed. I've been through two career change attempts. Finally on on that I think will work out. It has ups and downs. Last year I got really healthy and started working out trying to become a conservation officer. Made it to the initial interview. Which was pretty much the worst experience of my life. There's worse things but that was pretty soul crushing.

I'm about 9 months into a 20 month program to be an A&P mechanic. (Licensed to fix on airplanes)

I've had to cut my work hours back to about 36/week. So i still have medical and vacation benefits. And school is about 33 hours a week.
70 hour weeks have really been wearing on me. I'm often angry and irritable. I don't like it much. It's a short time and it sucks.

Work also sucks. We have a crew of 8 with 4 under a year experience and 2 under 1 month. It's the busiest time of year. The guy they tried to place as trainer and lead tire technician is in the middle of a mental breakdown from the stress of 20-35 orders up on the board by 9am. Trying to make it all work with this crew is hell.

I tried to leave and they gave me a $2/hr raise

Not all is bad. But there's going to be a fair amount of juggling for awhile.


Mff was great as always. Even if I was only there for Sunday. Got home from that at 4am.

I'm beat. I took 4 days off for Christmas. And I need it.
