I've got a lot weighing on my mind. This is quite a rant.

I have some words tonight. You may not agree.
I generally don't support abortion. I generally support gun rights. And generally don't fall with an liberal leanings.
But this planned parenthood terrorist attack is appalling. And an chilling warning to the country.
I'm a 19-35 year old, white, male, gun owning christian.
The biggest difference
Between me and that radicalized terrorist:
I value those I disagree with.
I come from a religion that taught me to love my enemies. To pray for those that spitefully use me. To turn the other cheek to those who attack me.
To try to love everyone.
And I don't. I fall short of this. A lot. But to twist that to justify shooting people you disagree with. People you feel are immoral? This goes against everything that my religion teaches. And it goes against everything I stand for.
Killing people IS NEVER a proper form of self expression. We have so many other means especially today.
I will fight to my dying breath for those I love. And your right to disagree with me.
I will never block or unfriend anyone for disagreeing with me. I welcome that. By the process of answering the questions of those that disagreed with me I have made my own opinions and ideals stronger.
Because I question my beliefs. I find where they aren't so sure. And I can strengthen them.
Our country is radicalizing. Everyone is either a pansy liberal or a redneck conservative.
This division of our country will destroy us. There is no force on earth that can defeat us. Except for ourselves. We can take ourselves apart if we loose our value of our fellow humans. Whether we agree with them or not.
It will start with little things like this. Just rhetoric. Things to fire up the voters to get them to vote. To promote our ideals over theirs. To pass laws and make changes that favour our own ideals.
It turns to people who believe the rhetoric. They defend them online and in person. They become exclusionary. "You're either with us or against us" they'll say.
The silencing of any opposition. Any alternative viewpoints are decried and vilified.
They'll shrink the middle ground where compromise and progress and harmony take place.
The sides will form, then there will begin to be physical violence. Probably starting at political rallies where people are charged. Then loners. "Just nutjobs" the nutjobs are the canaries in the mineshaft. They are the most easily manipulated will be radicalized first.
Then. There will be others, the mob mentality will help. And if the trend is not stabilized and brought to the moderate Center. It will continue to escalate in violence until it leads to violent physical unrest and possibly civil war.
The extremists will turn into warring factions. As they have in Syria and Egypt. You may be killed or exiled for holding a different ideal than the people you encounter. Or failing to swear allegiance to a particular side.
I hope it doesn't get that far.
I hope the rational will stand up to the radical.
This is how 11million Jews were killed almost 80 years ago. This is how the world was set up in a fire that killed hundreds of millions.
Because people were blinded by their own interests to the concerns of others. Those that opposed them. Their fellow men.
The people of our country have never agreed entirely on anything. There have and always been dissenters to everything.
But we have always been United and unless we continue to be unified. We will fall as all dominant powers eventually do. And it will be bloody when and if we fall this way.
To be honest. I'm sad. Sad and livid and angry. Im sad that we keep dehumanizing people. I'm sad that things have gotten this far.
I'm angry that this is happening right in front of my eyes. And I can see it. And...I feel powerless to help.
I've written emails. I've called senators. No one seems to listen. But I'm stubborn. And I'll keep trying. Even if it's just loving one person at a time.

Hang in there buddy and keep fighting the good fight. Godspeed!
I suppose we all have things get to us now and again.
