UPCOMING! 12/5 Louisville Parade, 12/6 Boulder Parade, more!
Hey y'all! I know I've got a lot of Denver/Boulder area watchers, so I thought I'd shout out about some upcoming events! Because, of course, the bigger the crowd, the merrier!
troj and I made it to this event last year! We pretty much just entertained folks on the sidelines, but it was still fun! I'd love to be able to participate in the parade this year, so I'll see about getting there a bit earlier. Whether you'd like to walk along or watch on the sidelines, either is cool!
I've been watching this event almost every year since about maybe 2003 (and got to participate in it in 2002!), and it's always been a great community-style event: lots of local businesses and community groups represented, and it's always been fun to see people's floats. It's been worth the hour's drive northwest for me, every time I go.
Last year, I got to suit on the sidelines! feathergills ended up handling, and we also happened to eventually meet up with troj (who, well, we wanted to meet up with before)! It was fun waving to a lot of the floats!
I've been thinking this year, though, that maybe I might also want to actually walk in the parade in suit! I would only have three days left (i.e. until November 19) to submit a $35 fee for a community group, unless they've already reached their 60-entry limit, but I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in walking along in the parade as well! [If so, if you're able, any possible contributions to the fee would be most welcome, but don't shy away if you can't contribute either!] [UPDATE: Scrapped this plan for this year; this is something I need to organize farther in advance, to get a better idea of who can participate. So I'll be on the sidelines!]
If you want to come and remain on the side to watch, suited or not, that should be fine, too!
Just one note: last year was super-cold that evening, so if the forecast looks the same this year & your suit isn't all that padded, you might want to consider wearing layers!
Just like the event we did back on September 20, except it should be much cooler and much better for suiting, and folks should be in the holiday spirit! Of course I'll be attending.
I've been attending this event since (I believe) its second year, and it's always been a fair amount of fun! There is a dress code, but I thankfully was able to find some super-extra-large formal wear for Luno (my wolf character) to wear, having to sew just the pants.
I'm actually considering getting a hotel room this year, because if I can find three other people to split it four ways, I'd only have to pay ~$25 (+ any taxes & fees) that night. And it'd be MUCH more fun than getting suited up outside in what's been a bitter cold in previous years. [That, and I'd have a break room right there in the hotel, and can just sleep afterwards instead of driving back.] We'd have until Monday, Dec. 1 to reserve a hotel room at the $91 (or $99?) dollar price -- so, anyone willing to join in?
If we have enough fursuiters there, then we could also do a photoshoot at some point!
And that's about it! Lot of stuff going on, and here's hoping you might be able to join in, too!
Also! I should mention that I'm considering making Weasyl my primary furry social media account! Granted, I still have to set up there, and I know many more people here, so it made sense to post this message here -- but I'll let you know how that progresses. In the meantime, here's the link to my Weasyl account; I only have one favorited item there thus far.

Hope you can gather up a group for entering in the parade, 'cause that would be awesome! Last year was very fun indeed, despite the cold!
The Louisville one miiight be doable, though. And Paws at Pearl most likely!
But yeah, there will certainly be no shortage of potential fursuiting events, whether here in December, or in the future.
