MATERIAL LOCATOR! Before asking "where did you get ____?" check here ---> http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7608239/ (If you still can't find it feel free to ask. I don't bite, I promise!)
Let me start off by saying once again that this in not an attack on any of my commissioners. This is taking the opportunity to remind people of my requirements as they are constantly not met.
When it comes to commissions the one area there seems to be issues EVERY time is when it comes to the DTD. I have a list of very firm rules when it comes to DTD's as they are what determines the ultimate fit of your body suit. For your sake and my sanity READ through them carefully and make sure they are met.
In this case it was once again a DTD that was too thin. Here are some thing that will help you determine if it's too thin.
*If I can see light though it, it is too thin
*If it weighs less then four rolls of duct tape, it is too thin
*If the painters suit is visible, it is too thin
Take fours rolls of duct tape, and put them on a scale. If your finished DTD weighs less then this OR even better if you have any of these four rolls left. IT IS TOO THIN. IT should take more then four rolls. Please also take note that I am talking about 45yard rolls and NOT the 10yard rolls that come in pretty colors. If you use the colored rolls that are 10yards it means you need A LOT more then four!

Duct Tape Dummy Requirements and Tutorials

http://www.roofur.com/commission/dtd_info.php Note: This tutorial was made by another fursuit builder and varies slighting from my requirements!! You must build DTD on a painters suit and not pajamas!
*DTD's must be at LEAST three layers thick. If they are too thin they tend to fall apart and stretch making them useless. Note: if you hold them up to the light and can see any light coming through them they are too thin! You should not be able to see any of the material from the painters suit coming through the tape. Another way to know if it is too thin is if it doesn't weigh anything. DTD's should take up at LEAST four standard rolls of duct tape.
*DTD's MUST be taped back together, NEATLY, before being shipped to me! If a DTD arrives that has not been taped together or has been taped back together weakly (as in it will break apart if I stuff it) You will be charged a $50 service fee for me having to take my time and materials to assemble it. If It is too thin and I need to add layers there will have a $100 service fees. If you do not wish to pay these fees then be prepared to make and ship another one! (Or just do it right the first time..cause it saves us both a lot of hassle!)
*They must be made over a painters suit, not pajamas or other clothing. Some clothing can be elastic and will warp the duct tape. If the painters suit is not long enough for your arms and legs you can use things like paper towel or plastic bags to extend it.
*The DTD is REQUIRED to go down over your heels at the least. The entire foot is preferred.
***ATTENTION!!** DTD's must meet standards to be used. If it does not, it will either need to be repaired or be thrown out and you will be asked to make a new one. If I have to repair it there will be a service fee. I have received too many that have been unusable or would not provide accurate dimensions for the commissioners body. I am not willing to put my time and your money into something that very well may not fit due to the inadequacies of poorly made DTD.

But yea the last two DTDs I got after making this tutorial were perfect and built like goddamn bricks.
I think I'll add in a note about taping feet in addition because I do like when the feet are taped too but I don't require it.
Question, would it be alright if I modified your tutorial slightly to meet my own requirements? (I would give you credit of course, if not I understand) Before I open I want to set up an E-file that requires a signature confirming that they have read my TOS and requirements and I would love to add this to it.
I actually put it on my quote form that
Have you read my TOS?
Yes is the only answer and it's required XD
I meant it's actually a question on my commission/quote forms
"have you read my TOS?"
Bodysuits cost a few hundred bucks and are very difficult and sometimes even impossible to alter, it is just not worth it to at all botch the dummy process
"You must use at least 180 yards of cloth-based duct tape."
Would it be possible (only for my own use, not for a commission) Only to make one side of the body a DTD? Because the legs and arms have the same lenght.
I am afraid I wouldn't set the markings perfectly enough on both sides of the DTD. Would I only drew the markings on one side, they would look perfectly symmetrical.
Also I am not sure if a half DTD would be good enough for digilegs. Do you think it would work?
Because I only find tutorials of full DTD. But I think a half DTD should also fit, or don't you think?
Or would there be any problems?
And I was thinking about drawing the markings on the DT while my boyfriend has it on. Just right after putting the DT on him, and then drawing the marking lines on the DT and cutting them off.
So I won't need to sticking and stuff the dummy. Do you think that would also work?
