Achievement Unlocked: Bye, bye fat!
As of today, I finally did it.
After a year and some months of running, cutting back on ice cream and junk food, and consistently flipping off this evil scale for conspiring against me, I did it: I’m down 50lbs!!! That may not seem like a lot to some of y’all but believe me, I’m proud of myself for losing that excess weight and getting my BMI down into a healthy range (body mass index). Mind you, I still want to lose a little more weight and some inches before I completely stop losing weight but just hitting that mark is all the motivation I need to keep going and maintain my hard work.
“So how did you lose all that weight?” Started off walking, then progressed to jogging, and now I run and climb 20-40% inclines on my treadmill 3-5 days a week, 15-30 minutes (sometimes longer, depends on my mood). I also alternate the trails and workout so I don’t get burned out or bored. I occasionally do kickboxing and T25 as well, cooling down with squats, lunges, jump roping, crunches, and pushups (ugh, hate pushups). On weekends, I try to go jogging and running outside, weather permitting. I also do light weightlifting 2-3 days a week. As for food? I’m still eating the same things I always have: I just eat less of it and watch my fat intake.
What I did NOT do to lose weight: no fad diets or diet pills, starving myself, counting every little calorie or gram of fat I consumed, or giving up my favorite foods
Tl;dr- increase physical activity and decrease food portions= fit wolfcat
“What made you want to lose weight?” I’ll be blunt: I wasn’t happy with the way I looked and felt and decided to do something about it. I already have crappy self esteem about how I look; now add being fat to that: yeah, sucks for my little morale. That and my family’s medical history isn’t exactly stellar (high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc) so I wanted to nip any contributing factors that could hurt me down the road. I also want to point out that I did NOT lose weight to impress anyone (other than myself but that’s okay~). I’ve seen and read stories of people losing weight just to get a girl/guy and guess what? That will not make you happy in the long run. However, I’ve ranted about that issue in the past so I won’t go there.
“What’s your goal now that you’ve lost weight…?” Lose MORE weight!
But seriously, I don’t know. Probably just keep working out and maintain my shape. As I told one of my friends, the hardest part is now maintaining it. One of my coworkers invited me to attend bootcamp with her next month and I think I’m going to take her up on it. For 21 days, 5 days a week, 30 minutes a day, I’ll be sore as hell and not able to move an inch! But at the end it preps your body for the summer months so you can show off your hard work (hello shorts and tank tops). Otherwise, the only goals I have in mind are:
• Lose 10-15 more pounds
• Run a marathon. Planning on starting with a 3K and going from there
• Run 4-5 miles nonstop (current longest mileage run without stopping: 3.2)
• Get a replacement punching bag so I can have something to hit…err, I mean practice kicking and boxing with
• Work on toning my legs, abs, and arms (in progress)
• Learn how to use kettlebells and resistance bands and integrate them into my workout regime
• Do more than 5 one, handed pushups
“Are you going to show us what you look like?” Hell no. Silly furries, fa is for furry art, not humans! *laughs* I prefer keeping my furry and real life separate.
Anyway, that’s all that’s going on down here. Otherwise, I’ve been enjoying the snow- a fun break from work and responsibilities for a few days, and keeping busy as much as possible. On that note, I’m off to learn how to stick a needle that's the size of a phillips screwdriver through human bone!
…yes, it’s as painful as it sounds but so much fun to watch- unless you’re squeamish in which case, I wouldn’t recommend it. Later~

...and nope, hugs are overrated. But I will give you a hearty handshake
I'll be right here, rooting you all the way!
On a sidenote, havne't forgotten about you, just been lazy and enjoying the snow; will get back to messaging you later~
Who's forgetting who now! Nah, I tease. I lost about 5-8 pounds, which I think I told you about. But I think that's all I am going to get as the rest of my weight will turn into muscle since I am doing restock. But we'll see.
:) Chat soon!
Anyways, Hello =P I'm sure you are enjoying it yourself, I'm starting to miss the warmer temps myself about now. getting tired of numb ears the second I walk outside lol plus I miss being able to work in my shop.
Well blah, it looks like we'll be back in the 70s by tomorrow *frowns* Damn fickle weather needs to make up its mind: we went from snow earlier this week to now spring weather this weekend
At least you could enjoy some nice weather for a little while =P Its funny going from a place like AZ to MN, I remember considering 70's spring temps. Now spring to us is anywhere from 30 to 65 and anything above that is more like summer lol I'm guessing we will have one more month before we will start seeing spring here.
