Going to the dogs today
Heading out in a few minutes here, to go to the dogs. The flyball tournament is being held at the York Expo center today and tomorrow from 8am-5pm in Memorial Hall West, and I'll be there today to cheer on the dogs and meet some of them. For those of you unfamiliar with this sport, it's a competitive activity for dogs and their owners, kind of like a relay race. The dogs run down a straight track, jumping over hurdles along the way, then rebound off the side of a box at the end which ejects a tennis ball. The dog catches the ball, then flies back down the runway over the hurdles again, back to its owner. These events are electronically timed. Dogs of many breeds will be there, but especially the herding breed, like Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Corgis, etc. Large and small. The dogs love it, and there is lots of barking. They will be there running all day today and tomorrow. Oh, one more thing, this is a free event for spectators, at least it has been the last several years. And I believe that well behaved leashed dogs are welcome to be brought along (please use discretion). No flash photography (flash distracts the dogs), and of course no fursuits (just common sense).
I had wanted to post this a week ago to give a heads up if some of you wanted to attend, but was anxiously working on stupid taxes... it has not been a good week. But today, the dogs will cheer me up. :)

Have a good time at EFM tonight! Drive safe, and have fun bowling.
