Everything you can learn about my "Likes & Dislikes" at FA
10 years ago
IMPORTANT: This journal is meant to teach everybody about my personal thoughts and preferences in art. I don't mean to insult anybody for the things they enjoy and feel open to actually learn what my dudes find enjoyable about certain subjects.
If you would like me to add my opinion about other subjects not covered in this journal please suggest them to me in the comment section. I'll happily reply to all my dudes. ;3
Hiya dudes! (-^.=.^-)
Or rather Hi there! Here is a journal from the silly human witha shiny Totodile as his mascot. I always wanted to write such a journal to tell my thoughts on things concerning art subjects and the things I prefer to browse.
This is why I spent the last few weeks of collecting my thoughts and noted them down now. If you like to get to know more about myself you might find this journal interesting. Sorry already that it's a superlong one. ^_^
Arts that I like:
Things that are...
+ cool
+ cute
+ fun
+ adorable
+ giving you a smile
+ making you laugh
+ positive
+ friendly
+ surprising
+ colorful
What kind of characters:
Characters that are based of...
+ Video games
+ Movies
+ TV shows (mostly anime and cartoon shows)
+ Animal characters
As for animal characters I mostly like:
+ Reptiles
+ Amphibians
+ Dinosaurs
+ Dragons
+ Other monster characters and animals
(all in a friendly and rather non-realistic / toony fashion)
Styles that I like:
...hard to answer since I'm not having the professional knowledge of all directions that art goes but if I see characters drawn I enjoy the more lighthearted animation drawing style like from comics, cartoons, manga, anime and so on.
What art ratings do I like?:
General art that everybody can enjoy
Subjects/themes that I like:
+ Fan art, fan characters and original character art
+ Characters in their daily life situations
+ Characters and their hobbies
+ Characters hanging out
+ Characters in fantastic, over-the-top and magical situations
+ Characters playing around
+ Characters in different sorts of clothes, costumes and cosplay
+ Characters in 'what if..." situations (in connection to fan arts hanging out with characters from other games, etc.)
As for fantastic, over-the-top and magical situations I like:
-things with a more toony logic
-things with a feel of overwhelmth to them
Things I do not enjoy:
- Anything truly mature and adult rated
- Things that look and fair in a too realistic way
- Human body parts on non-human characters (sexual parts of men/women mostly)
- Violence
- Dark humor
- Any sort of bringing a character in a bad situation
- Anything scary, mean or insulting
- Arts reflecting critic, negative feelings and anger
- Things that disrespect the character
- Characters with a set canon changed in their personality
- Characters using or under the effect of the consumption of any sort of bad substances(smoking, extreme drinking, drugs, etc.)
- Characters doing terrible and disgusting things
In regard of all known FA subjects:
I just want to point out that I look at these as just themes and subjects and not as what people refer to as their fetishes because I'm not much of a sexual person in general. I always saw myself as an asexual person because I never really started to develope any sexual interests. This also means that I am not really interested in trying any of these things out in real life.
Babyfurs and Diaperfurs: (+ IT'S OKAY)
There are several sections to these that I have different opinions about, I try to explain as what I learned so far about these: Diaperfurs/ Diaperlovers are characters that like to wear diapers. That also can refer to persons in real life liking to wear and even use them. Babyfurs are characters that like to either roleplay that they are babies again or characters that are babies. That also can apply to persons in real life to imagine themselves to return to infancy.
The simplest here: Babies are cute. I think if you ever see a baby drawn in a cartoon or movie you will mostly say: Aww, adorable! I definitely like them. =3
As for diapers, I like them as some sort of costume on a character, simply adding those on already cute characters adds to them in a silly cute fashion.
I don't like the portrait of diapers getting used or soiled at all. It's rather disgusting to me because I think that body waste material is just something I treat as waste and can't really connect with something positive in any situation. (I tried asking fans of that and nobody could give me a clear answer why they like it; I guess such likes develope subconsciously)I usually only like diapers when the character and context seem cute together because in most parts I am rather neutral to it. I don't think I'd like adult characters in them and especially I don't think I'd find adult human diaper art cute, really.
+Cute fur characters(mainly smaller ones) that seem fit for diapers are cute
+diapers as a costume
- - -diaper usage/dirty diapers
Overall a "neutral" subject; I don't mind playing it with Shiny with the addition if funny
ideas as long they are cute (I actually never actively browse the category at FA)
Subjects I did mix this one with before: Inflation
Bondage: (+ IT'S OKAY)
Geh, that subject is a huge one. I know there are lots of sub-themes for it with all sorts of differences to how they all mix with other subjects and in main I guess people just know it as a kink. Well, hmmm...I'm not sure, really. I am also pretty neutral or rather said mixed on it. I always try to imagine what a character could find enjoyable in certain situations and usually I try to add anything that could make a subject more cute or fun in some way. As far as I know it mainly means that the character is restrained and unable to move.
Since that I sorta like when situations get out of hand and turn out more wacky and unpredictable for a character I can't deny that I find it fun to imagine the character simply being stuck in some situations. I don't like it though when that whole bondage play gets mixed with subjects like slavery, violence, domination and such things which could mean that the character gets treated bad or humilated. Again, I simply can only see that as a bad and not very enjoyable thing.
Bondage situations I found actually fun in some way:
+characters somehow stuck to some sticky substance
+characters wrapped up in bandages (sorta like a mummy)
+characters being stuck between bigger objects
+characters getting tickled while being stuck in the above situations
+characters getting immobilized / petrified
+characters stuck inside of some sort of toy or inflatable cocoon(I don't know what these things are called...Body bags? But really, could just be an Inflatable)
+characters held in place by a hug of a character that is bigger or has a large tail(sorta like a snake hug)
I would answer here that I simply could connect these with other playful scenarios and the importance to me here is that the character should still be able to get free soon enough.
I don't like characters in chains or bondage clothing at all. I also find the whole portrait of a character tied up with a rope or some sort of muzzle or gag balls not really fun.
+In the sense of an overwhelming situation being comical
+anything that leaves the character in a state of relaxation rather than distress
- - - everything that seems adult and treats the character
bad
(I also don't actively browse this subject)
Subjects I mixed this one up with: Inflation, Transformation(Rubber & Latex material)
Digimon: (+ + + LOVE IT)
I love that anime franchise a lot! Monster characters, it has cool and cute Reptiles, transformation of the super hero kind, adventure, lotsa emotions. It's awesome!
Though as an art subject I admit I don't actively browse it. I rather wish for the different series/seasons to finally get a DVD release in my country. Definitely my fav anime series ever because it has so many things I enjoy. It also is hard for me to pick a fav character and Digimon though I always liked the scenario with Takato who hid the adorable Guilmon from his parents. That part of the show always was like a dream coming true and I am sure many could feel into that situation. In main I can say that I like the cute and cool Digimon and don't like Digimon that are portrayed in a scary or too realistic way.
+++Digimon are fun, cool and cute
+friendly Digimon characters are always a plus like all the other monster characters from anime
-any sort of extremely scary Digimon
Can also be mixed with all sorts of subjects really well in my book as long it just are the cute monster characters
Fat Furs: (+ + LIKE IT)
Well, I know there are Fatties ranging from just chubby to immense blobs. My view on it is just that they look fun in a comical fashion going by cartoon standards. I like big characters in main so a round and big stuffed character reminds me sorta of a big pillow type of a plush toy and so looks adorable for the huggable appearance.
I dislike it when they are displayed as terrible slobs, even more with the addition of the subject Vore. I also dislike moobs and too much realism put in concideration when drawing fat characters.
Like with most big characters I find it fun to see a small character getting bigger or in this case gaining weight though I don't actively search for it because me being picky about the way how the character looks often gets in the way of enjoying the subject in main more.
Like prior, this only applies to cute furry characters because I think naked and fat humans don't look any cute like that. I also like to think that the characters enjoy being heavy and big and that smaller characters who get into funny situations of sudden weight gain can return to their original weight easily.
It's also nice just to see the characters just enjoying snacks and not being superbig but a lil chubby, too.
+smaller and chubby characters that simply enjoy some sweets
+big and cute huggeble fellas are nice
+fatty characters being friendly towards smaller characters or in cute situations
+big characters that give away a toony plushy look
-characters being a slob and giving away too much human features such as moobs instead
(In regard of toony expansion situations I prefer Inflation over Fat Furs so I don't actively browse this one as well)
I skip the line "Fetish Other" for now since there are lots of subjects I need to cover after the main ones anyways.
Fursuit & Cosplay: (+ + LIKE IT)
Fursuiting in a real life context as well as drawn always look cute to me. I admire the people who put much time and effort into creating them and in some more rare cases when I get to watch videos by people how they are done or how people do fun things like dancing or cheering up other people is always a nice surprise.
I don't connect myself that much with Fursuiting even that I did in fact cosplay for several times with local friends. I think costumes in main are fun and creative. Reason for it is simply me being a bit paranoid about how expansive creating a fursuit can be and the fear of it might getting lost or broken and myself not being able to fix it anymore. So I rather enjoy characters drawn with a costume on or feel happy for the people who were able to went through with their plans of creating/commissioning a real fursuit/ costume.
Since I'm more disconnected to the subject nowadays, I also don't really actively browse for fursuiters much anymore as like at the time I was still considering to commission somebody for something. As you can guess, I find all sorts of Reptiles and friendly monsters especially cool though the classic canine ones always look cute. =3
+costumes plus cute character designs no matter if real or drawn
Hyper: (+ IT'S OKAY)
Hyper is a subject I can't fully enjoy because basically I only like the toony side to it seeing it as some funny way of funny transformation effect. If it looks amusing then I chuckle and can enjoy it as that though my problem is that most people use it in kinda like a "worship that and that certain body part" way. ^^'
I don't know about body part fetishes, really, so I'm not into paws or feets and since I'm not into adult stuff any sexual body parts like female breast or male endowments are simply a big NO to me. I understand that some toony characters even have human body parts on them but I simply don't like thelooks of an animal character with too much sexual features shown and surely not large inflated ones.
The only positive I could take from here is the main growth experience that the subject holds and like I said before I find growth of things fun because it is such a fun concept when things changes into a bigger scale.
+random and toony growth sorta like an uneven Inflation
- - - growth of body parts that just indicate something mature/adult background
(nothing I actively browse either)
Inflation: (+ + + LOVE IT)
Together with Transformation probably the fav subject for me to look into. I grew up with my cartoon shows and like told before, If a character or other friendly looking things get bigger it's always something that seems very fantastic and I can enjoy that. I see Inflation in the same boat as Fat Furs as a variation of the Transformation subject.
The coolest thing about it is that most of the time if you combine a cute character with Inflation the result turns out toyish and remains cute. And the most fun about is that people can use all sorts of fun methods to do the Inflation with a character. It can be a character inflating him/herself(and on the female side I still dislike the breast Inflation thing) or characters inflating eachother, there can be toys like balloons that get inflated, costumes/suits and many other things.
The character can be a balloon/inflatable/plush and when they get bigger they simply look cute. I also find it nice when such Inflation situations turn out over the top and overwhelming like if a character gets stuck because of the Inflation getting out of hand, there being too many toys or the Inflation causes the character for example floating upwards.
Unlike many who seem rather startled by the popping part of Inflation I don't really mind it as long as it leads to the character reforming afterwards and is safe and sound. =3
I dislike it whenever the Inflation is portrayed as scary, violent and in any way adult and too realistic for its own good. I think of it more as a playful transformation and only enjoy it when it is something fun and cute.
Oh, yeah, and I don't really prefer any specific size for a character if they inflate. I just like the toony aspect of it happening as long as the character can also enjoy the situation.
Just to point out again, even that I find the concept really fun I don't feel drawn to have a vast collection of inflatable toys and no fetish for them. I can't deny though that a Totodile inflatable would be way cool in my collection.
+ + + Every creative, fun, cute, and happy idea containing a friendly character to grow big
+ + + Inflatable and other toy characters
+characters playing with toys in a happy manner
+popping as long as it isn't resulting in the character to be gone
-anything that gives the character discomfort
-the inability of bringing popped characters back
(I browse Inflation and Transformation art mainly)
Macro/Micro: (+ + LIKE IT)
It's much like Inflation to me. I like it really much when the fantastic situation occurs that a character gets very big. Here is a large BUT though. I only like gentle giants or hero characters that grow big to help out others. Characters that grow big and treat smaller ones bad, destruct everything simply to feel powerful and even step on other characters to harm them make me sick. If there are big and small characters being friendly with eachother
it is something that definitely makes me smile. Something else I don't like much is if characters just draw bigger and smaller characters together so that the smaller characters can worship the bigness of the giant. I find that somehow not so comfortable. I rather like it when characters no matter the size difference are equal to eachother still.
In regard of Micro...I never cared really much for it. To be honest, I find the whole situation more scary than fun to imagine.(Blame "Honey, I shrunk the Kids" XD)
In the end I can say that growth in main is cool and no matter if combined with Inflation, Muscle or Fat Furs it can be very nice. I don't have a fav size here either. If they turn out to be bigger than the planet I just don't want them to break anything.
As for both I dislike it if the change in size stays permanent and leaves the character in a lost situation. For example imagining a shrunk character stuck somewhere where nobody can't find them or a big character accidently destructing things feeling guilty are rather nightmare scenarios in my opinion. <:3
+ + + Gentle giants and friendly characters growing large
+ + + Big characters helping out smaller ones or being heroic
-Characters ending up in a helpless situation
- - - violent, destructing and bad giants
(I don't actively browse for Macro/Micro because of there being too many bad giants mostly even in the general section)
I like to combine this with: Transformation, Inflation, Muscle, Toys
Muscle: (+ + LIKE IT)
Muscle is kinda the same for me as Macro. If the characters look friendly and the muscle growth doesn't seem too overdone I can enjoy it. I like it in a toony fashion of a character getting stronger to help somebody or just for a fun side effect of the growth. I don't really care for muscle worship. or a character just getting strong to feel more powerful than others. I dislike it if the muscled character is somebody who uses his/her power to treat others bad.
+ combined with growth in main in a friendly fashion okay
- hyper muscles that make the character look intimidating
- - - mean muscled characters
(Since I don't care that much for muscles as a subject I don't actively browse for it)
It's neat combined with Transformation, Macro, Inflaton, Fat Furs at times as long as the characters keep looking nice.
My Little Pony/ Brony: (- NOT A FAN OF IT)
I see why that franchise is popular. I personally think the main design of the "Friendship is Magic" series looks nicely popping in its colors and it's definitely fun to look at. Though even after recommendations and watching a number of episodes I must admit I couldn-'t get really into it myself. Personally I always prefered the more story-driven first two and last two episodes of most seasons that featured an antagonist of sort. The lil Dragon Spike was actually fun to watch and that antagonist Discord also was pretty fun with his over-the-top trickery. And I guess Shiny and Pinkie Pie would get along really well since both are into having a blast with a party. X3
Since I'm much more into Reptiles than mostly other toony animals Ponies aren't really interesting to me. I only remember the actually pretty old 'My little Pony' show or rather that there was a movie years ago with some Human children and some withces casting some sort of Ooze or Goo curse over the magical place...Has been a long while though. <X3
+the popping colorful art
+some friendly and crazy characters
(I am not really into the characters so I don't browse for them; though might try watching the one or other episode of that show someday if the characters I found interesting enough before get some screentime again)
Paw(s)/Feet: (- NOT A FAN OF IT)
I like my feet but just because the give me the ability to walk around. They aren't attractive to me and that also doesn't count for drawn feet or paws. That's why I'm rather neutral on the subject and must admit the whole worshipping somebodies paws thing that goes so far as one character sniffing and licking them is a bit much for me. I am never so sure what to think of it though I guess lil Shiny would just feel rather flattered but still confused. ^^'
Silly concepts I've seen with paws and found amusing were when characters inflated or got some sort of growth to their paws because to me it has that toony feel to it. It surely also is quite fun when a character gets their feetpaws tickled because there is nothing as cute as some friends laughing together. =3
What I find uninteresting are pics with characters kinda holding their paws into the face of the viewer. To me the character as a whole is more appealing to watch instead of just reducing them to their paws. <:3
+nice with some toony or generally cute elements to them(growth, tickling)
-feet worshipping and direct view on just paws
(I once browsed the FA search for some hyper feet and inflated feet paws but in most cases which turned out to be fun but most times I don't actively show interest in the subject)
Actually fun combined with Inflation, Hyper(toony sort of uneven growth)
Pokémon: (+ + + LOVE IT)
I like Pokémon since it first came out. It's a cool and diverse franchise with all the different genres that it covers and I like a lot of the designs and for example "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon" and the anime series made a lot of Pokémon grow on me. So fan arts, cute designs and fun interpretations of Pokémon are never wrong in my book. You can combine them also with all the magical and funny other subjects of FA and it will still turn out fun to me as long as the things keep the way I enjoy them. Sure thing I like Reptile Pokémon a lot but there are many Pokémon I find cool and cute.
What I'm not into is showcasing the fighting since for me the friendly personality and the all sorts of happy art of Pokémon is what truly makes me like the characters.
I'm neutral on the whole anthro Pokémon thing though I mostly prefer the original designs or at least the Pokémon keeping with their size when they get drawn as bipedals.
+++fun and diverse monster designs that I have a good relationship with(especially Totodile as my mascot character)
+cool and cute, fun and silly situations simply fit it great because the cast of monsters has so many different elements to them
-fighting
-too much humanoid features on anthro Pokémon
(I rarely browse it actively but if there comes a time I enjoy looking for specific Pokémon I definitely look them up via search to get more direct results)
Cool combined with most other general rated subjects, as fan art and as how people invent their own fan characters and mascots based on them; has also much in common with Digimon for me
Pregnancy: (- NOT A FAN OF IT)
While I find Inflation toony and cute in some way I can't relate the same to the whole subject of Pregnancy. In real life I only can say I have the deepest respect of all the things mothers have to endure to bring their children into the world and the more I know about it the more rather inconvenient and harmful it seems to me. I can't see the enjoyment of the subject but maybe it is because of people mixing somehow aspects like a hyper belly and Vore to create the Pregnancy image. I only see characters, even male ones, sporting a big tummy which kinda reminds me of Fat Furs but that's mostly it. So that's why there is pretty much no interest in the subject for me. ^^'
-just reminding me of what mothers endure
(nothing I browse because it simply isn't cute or cool to me)
Sonic: (+ IT'S OKAY)
I wonder why Sonic has a category but the whole bestiary from the Super Mario franchise hasn't, hehe. Ah, nothing against Sonic fans. I myself find quite some of the games really fun and enjoy the cast though as in fan art I didn't watch that much into it myself. I don't know why...I guess they are just like the Ponies from My little Pony not as diverse and appealing to me than other characters.
My fav character from the Sonic universe definitely is Vector the Crocodile. He and Team Chaotix are silly, fun and cool somehow. I enjoyed getting to know about them in "Sonic Heroes" and Vector does a lot of things I find fun. He likes bubble gum, music, helps out others and is a big and strong fella. Sure thing I needed a fan art of him and Shiny simply hanging out listen to music.
If I'd have to summerize what I find not that appealing about Sonic fan characters mostly it would probably be that they are often to similar to Sonic and his friends. You see, Sonic and the others all have set personalities and plot lines, plus their powers all have a unique feel and importance for their story lines which is why it kinda makes not much sense for them to have like another character with nearly the same powers and appearances. I don't mean it's impossible to create a good Sonic fan character based on the universe and the design but many people look too much on the fighting aspect rather than a unique feel of the character and try too hard to copy Sonic and his friends who should stay unique in theri own way. In Pokémon creating a character with a unique personality is easier because Pokémon rarely have a set plot or personality given with them so you can simply add all that yourself plus, even that they are monster characters with powers all those powers are pretty random and normal while Sonic and his crew are meant to be special and sticking out compared to the regular Mobian inhabitant. All kinda reasons why Sonic as a franchise isn't too much interesting except for some fan arts if I stumble over them.
+cool designs so fan art is neat now and then
-most fan characters and the whole fighting aspect in Sonic characters isn't that interesting to me
(nothing I browse actively except when I like a certain game and character)
Can't say why but it doesn't really give away that toony and fun setting to me so I'd not say combining Sonic characters with any other subject gives me really much enjoyment because to me the Sonic franchise was more cool and serious(okay, the Chaos as an exception XD) one
Transformation: (+ + + LOVE IT)
Like said before, my fav subject next to all the toony stuff and to be honest, Inflation, Macro and all the other things that bring out a change for the character or the situations act like sub.categories of Transformation for me. I grew up with all sorts of shows containing TFs, from regular people turning into super heroes to toony characters getting turned into animal characters by a magic spell to inanimate objects turning into living ones. It's such a fantastic, overwhelming and often cute and cool subject as a whole that I can't say else but that I enjoy it a lot.
I prefer mostly it when a cute character changes slightly to look a little different but just so that you still can make out their original appearance after the change still. It's just pretty cool if you can see the change doesn't give away a too big distance to the character you had beforehand.
In the same way I love it when changes are kinda applying some fun things to characters like extra abilities during that state or any other aspects that bring joy for a character.
What I don't like are mid-transformations of humans into other character, mainly because I don't like human body parts on cute characters. It just seems really weird to me then. That's why I usually rather like one furry character to change into an other one.
What I also don't like is when transformations are showcased as some sort of bad experience with the character getting frightended, harmed or mind-changed. So making a Transformation into a terrible curse with no way of the character to turn back later on is something I hate because I like TFs as a fun and surprising thing that brings the characters joy.
What I also find cool about transformation is that you can set so many different silly and adventurous things along with it. It simply mixes well with all sorts of other subjects and characters.
Something yet I am pretty neutral about are gender swaps though in most cases when people add human breasts to a gender swapped character and sexualize the character I tend to not like that aspect.
+++fun, surprising and fantastic changes
+++toony and silly, lighthearted changes
+mixes really well with most other subjects
+often gives a character oppurtunities to try out other abilities
- changes into humans or having too much human elements on the character's body
- gender swaps of characters with way too much human elements to them
- - - curses aka TFs that can't be undone
- - - changes that frighten or harm a character
- - - changes that change a character's personality
(I often like to browse general rated TF art because it often has a really nice and fun feel to it, especially sequences of a TF can show the overwhelmth of the process really well)
Like said, I see other subjects already as sub-subjects of Transformation and combining all sorts of things can bring out funny changes in a situation whioch is why I enjoy TF as a subject really much
Vore: (- - DON'T LIKE IT)
From a subject I love a lot to one I learned to fear and hate a lot. ^^'
Sorry but the whole Vore thing is simply one big nightmare to me at most times. I simply just don't like the thought of putting a friendly character equal to mere food and no matter if a character does eat another one or gets eaten, I always tend to imagine the character lost and scared in such a situation. Might simply be that my picture of the inside of a mouth/jaws and stomach are mostly just gross and therefore not enjoyable at all.
Though I found out that if the characters who get eaten are willing prey and actually can get back out later on with no problem then it becomes much more acceptable to me.
I saw all sorts of kinds of Vore subjects in the past from the characters getting taken in from all sorts of body openings to them simply getting absorbed in a way and I must admit that I find absorption much more fun as the regular kind of vore. I always see absorption more of like the one character whom does it acts kinda like a Goo character or a living costume and helps the other one to transform here.
The same more positive combination I got from it is when the predating character actually is rather a toy character than one made of flesh. If the character is an Inflatable one or made of plush it's also simply like if they act like a suit or sleeping bag for the smaller one slipping inside.
So to say, as long as Vore seems dangerous, ultimative and realistic in giving the prey a food role in it I hate it. If it's something absolutely harmless and lets the smaller character enjoy the game then I like it.
+harmless playful vore with toy characters instead of flesh ones
+situations that give both characters equal ways to act still(like costume and wearer relationship)
- - - anything that treats both parties non-equal
- - - harming, scaring and getting rid of characters
(since most of Vore is scary to me I never browse it; I tried to find special cases in the past that I mostly couldn't enjoy to the fullest though)
Is alright combined with Transformation, Inflation, Goo, Plush and anything that is more toony and friendly
Water Sports / Scat: (- - - HATE IT)
I put these two together because it stays the same for me with both. I don't like them. Why? Because in real life it's already inconvenient if you need to use the toilet everytime when something important is going on. I can't see what else but feeling some sort of relief inside your body is well about getting rid of unneeded waste from former meals you had. To me that sort of stuff containing sexual bits, just views on downer regions of the body and the addition of stuff that is just disgustingly gross material I simply can't enjoy that stuff.
Like already said about diapers I can't stand really watching characters playing with body wastes because the material itself simply is just awful. Sorry but it's absolutely nothing for me to enjoy. And adding cute characters or mixing them with other subject doesn't much change it. Seeingany character wetting themselves looks rather depressing than fun. <:3
- - - The material itself, the focus on downer body regions and sexaul bits shown is gross to me
(You will laugh but when I didn't know at first about the containment of the subject I actually thought Watersports was about going to the beach, surfing and all that summer fun stuff. Nothing I'd ever browse again. >_<' )
Other subjects that aren't main ones or as Fetish Other ctaegorized will come next. I try to cover as many as I can think of.
Flattening: (+ + LIKE IT)
It counts to the same toony stuff as like Inflation. I kinda treat it as a form of deflating or simply making a 3D character into a 2D one. It's silly and I personally find it fun to look at. As long as it doesn't happen in a too violent way so that it turns out to be a surprising-amusing form of TF I'm more than fine with it as a subject. <X3
I dislike it if the flattening or other form of squishing a character ends up with the character getting forced to stay that way for too long. I prefer it when they can pop back in shape or get help from a friendly dude with a pump, maybe. =3
+toony and fun look for a cute character
-violent and forced situations with larger characters treating the other one not equal
Melting: (+ + LIKE IT)
I am not sure if Toon is an own category but if so I count that one as well as a sub-subject. Like said before, in transformation I find it fun when characters' shapes change in a silly way so a character melting into a puddle definitely looks fun to me as long it stays in the toony fashion as I've seen it quite some times in the past.
Maybe it can connected with some other sort of silly TF ideas by using the puddle with a mold or some colors. It's definitely something that is quite over the top. X3
Like before, I dislike it whenever characters are left with a feel of inconvenience and discomfort. I rather like to imagine that process kinda like if there the stress is also melting away then.
+Silly, toony, creative
- anything that harms the character in the process
Toon: (+ + LIKE IT)
Well, I should tell you at least about Toons as a whole that I like how lighthearted and friendly a lot of the things are in that subject. Toons have such versatility and can do so many fun things. It simply means that there are lots of ways for the characters to enjoy things without having to fear that they could get hurt. There are simply less dangers for how they can evade things and pop back into shape even after somebody surprised them with all sorts of mischief. It's cool.
The only thing I dislike in cartoons are crude and too violent materials like in adult cartoon shows that try to make fun of real life persons or showcase harm towards the characters. That's just not very enjoyable to me. ^^'
+++ friendly, happy and amusing characters in a fun style and with versatile attributes to them
+++give all sorts of ways to create unique over-the-top situations
-not fun when used for adult or crude humor
Gas: (+ + LIKE IT)
It's another of those mixed content subjects I could find compromises with. I mean I hate the disgusting feel to what Scat as a subject holds and in in Gas I definitely dislike it when the characters use their stinky gases to torture other characters so stuff like facestitting and grossing other characters out aren't of my likes for sure.
I rather treat the subject in connection to an aspect of Inflation as that characters inflate or deflate by passing gas and also imagine for those toony characters rather act like a balloon and don't release any sort of terrible stench.
Besides that I like the aspect of that gases or clouds of gases can also have a sort of physical shape and get also a growth spurt by it multiplying. You see where I am going with it probably already. It is again that feel of overwhelmth and simply stuff getting out of control I find fun about here when the situations are seen in a playful way. <X3
I also prefer the focus on the gas that the character creates rather than the body part where it comes from when shown in the subject.
+cloudy, mass that the character can interact with in several toony ways
-used to create crude and disgusting situations
-focussing on the character's butt instead of the humor or effect of the situation
(Don't browse much for it but it's cool when done in a amusing way)
works well with Inflation and generally toony situations
Gore: (- - - HATE IT)
That subject belongs into horror movies. That's my opinion. I find anything that portrays characters in agony and harm is just something to make you feel sick inside. I don't want to know why there even are some people who find it nice. I guess Torture as a subject and this are quite related to eachother and show that some people enjoy it to give their sorrows and bad thoughts in some form of harm towards a fictional character they don't even care for. I hate that since I love art for focusing on what makes us feel good. Art should make people happy. It's okay to feel all sorts of emotions and let them out in some way but harming anybody even if it's just a fictional character...I find it not fair and shouldn't at least in our fantasy things be more fair than in reality? <:3
- - - showcases harmth and torture, even death of characters and simply only makes me feel sorry for the tragedy of what artists do to their innocent characters(I'm that sort of person who avoids such thngs)
(happy when I don't stumble across that stuff)
Porn, Masturbation and other sexual content: (- - - HATE IT)
Again, no. I tried to be open for that at the very beginning when I started RPing with some of my dudes and in the end I can't enjoy it. I know it has to do with relief and real life matters but I never felt any greatness behind that what is just some sort of biological processes. I like arts for creative, fun and cute aspects and not for seeing characters in rather private intimate moments.
But like said before, I'm not into sexual things to begin with so I just stick with simply what is fun to me. ^^'
- - - shows characters in ways I simply don't want to see in
(I tend to have the SFW filter on so I can avoid such content and whenever my dudes ask me about anything adult nowadays I tell them Shiny is nowadays meant to be innocent in that regard. <:3)
Mind Control / Hypnosis: (- - DON'T LIKE IT)
The way I've seen that subject in the past it mostly held the aspect of a Master-Slave relationship in it. I am not really sure how to judge things because I always try to imagine the players kinda want that uneven roles in it though that isn't for me, really.
For me, every character has the same rights and I prefer them treating like friends eachother.
The one thing about hypnosis I find truly scary though is the fact that there is a character with a one-of-a-kind personality, something that should be a treasure to everybody and the whole mind control thing just screws that over. Free will, personality, memories, everything can be erased and overwritten in that subject and that is like a dark terrible curse that I find in no way enjoyable. >_<'
Well, if I can I kinda would say it can turn out to be fun if the aspects of it can be toned down to a harmless grade like if the hypnosis is just of a brief effect like how in a magic show people just get hypnotized for a lil while to reveal something they forgot about, to behave like somebody else for laughs or an effect that comes into work when the character hears a bell ring. Such sort of scenarios that wear off quick enough and just get used for nicer and playful situations.
Sure thing, there can be "What if..." kinda scenarios with a character and treated like if they aren't even canon to your character but really, I would only do these just to compromise with a friend who likes the subject.
As for what I find actually good about hypnosis, it is nice whenever hypnosis can actually help a character. Take for example a nervous person who is afraid of talking in front of many people. Use hypnosis to take away his/her fears and they become more confident and are helped. You see that I try to make the most positive out of most subjects whenever I can think of something.
- - - Not respecting a character's personality and trying to forcefully eradicate it
- - - often gets used to enslave characters against their will and for doing disturbing things
+ can be okay in "What if" situations
+ alright when it's only brief and with lighthearted fun ideas in mind
+ can be helpful when used in a good way
Latex: (+ + LIKE IT)
The whole aspect of Rubber and Latex characters is something that I rather see from the same perspective as other Toy characters. In an innocent way they actually look really cool. I love the shiny style on them no matter what cool colors people choose for them to have.
As you might have guessed it, I don't really have anything for suggestive parts on these characters and changes. I mean in connection to clothes and TFs that are shiny latex it is just only nice whenever the character can turn back whenever they like to. Besides that I could imagine it is quite the fun way to affect and give the character a unique look for once in a while. =3
+has a unique and fun look to it
-not really into it whenever the character gets forced into adult situations with it
-or when the whole appearance gets sorta suggestive and adds things that aren't enjoyable for the character anymore
(sometimes look it up and find it pretty cool when people can draw the shiny finish on the characters well)
Nice combined with Wam, Bondage, Transformation and other toony subjects
Super Mario/ other video game franchises: (+ + + LOVE IT)
Really, it might just be me but to me the whole Super Mario universe and its characters are much more diverse than Sonic could ever be plus there are lots of ways to create own characters. Take for example all the Koopas, Yoshis and whatnot character designs you can find in the franchises' bestiary. The characters have no set plot and are open for own design ideas and for developing a unique personality.
I always found that universe with its good and bad guys very sympathetic. And really, whenever can you say your bad guys can also be good guys in a way. That's why for me Bowser is like the best ever baddie, a character to be likable even when he does his scemes from time to time. <X3
But that also counts for many other franchises and I find it still cool how some of my dudes have characters based of furry characters from games that I know. Just thought I add that here. ;3
The only times I don't like these would be when they get combined with unfitting situations or try to force romantic relationships between characters that make no sense. ^^'
+ + + cute and cool character designs that remind me of many things I love in gaming
+ gives the oppurtunity to create own fun and nice fan characters
- when forced into suggestive and unfitting scenarios
Clothes/ Costumes/ Cosplay/ Crossdressing(in regard of drawn characters): (+ + LIKE IT)
While in real life the biggest priority for myself is that clothes are convenient to wear and that you have just enough of those I definitely am a fan of cute drawn characters with fun and diverse outfits. It simply is like the icing on a cake to me.
As for costumes, disguises, and cosplays: They are all much fun and give the oppurtunity for pretty awesome crossover scenarios and "What if..." situations. Dress up your fan character as one other character you like and it looks simply amazing. =D
In real life, too, it's something I always admire. People who can build and design, measure and sew outfits based of characters they love are absolutely stunning though also very costy. So rather than spending thousands on a costume for myself I prefer having lots and lots of cosplays for my character instead. <X3
I mostly am neutral to the subject of crossdressing. I mean, in anime some male characters definitely can look amusing when dressed up in a maid outfit though I'm no fan of make-up, extremely overdone dresses and suggestive kind of clothes.
+ + + can add a lot of a unique, cool and cute look to a character
+ they cost less in artworks than you'd pay in real life
+ you can combine characters from different franchises through costumes
- clothes that are suggestive and adult oriented
(I don't really browse for specific kind of clothes but sometimes like the surprise whenever I find some fun cosplay and costumes art with characters that I enjoy)
works also well with toony and TF scenarios depending on if the costumes might be magical or living ones
Master-Slave relationship: (- NO FAN OF IT)
Often seen with Bondage, Hypnosis, TF and rather suggestive kind of scenarios I witnessed that form of roleplay in that people enjoy to treat eachother unequal on purpose. I personally don't like it much to tret others worse or better so it simply isn't for me. I guess it is fun for somebody to play king for once but making others work or worship you. Nah, nothing I could enjoy. It would rather feel off. But I guess as long as the characters swap roles now and then and don't treat eachother in a bad or suggestive way there isn't much to say against it.
+neutral to it as long as characters treat eachother respectful and not all the time unequal
-when characters treat eachother bad and without respect
(Nothing I browse for since I simply am not interested in unequal relationships but simply general and friendly ones between characters)
Vomit: (- - - HATE IT)
Long time since I've spotted something of that subject anywhere but when remembering Watersports and Scat I also remembered that some people like it when a character vomits. I definitely can't connect anything enjoyable with this subject myself. To me the process of that subject is just not only inconvenient but a sign of that you are feeling sick so how people can like it...I couldn't find out why yet. ^^'
- - - just shows how a character is not feeling well
(just like the other subjects Scat and Watersports, I'm happy to avoid it)
Plush & Toys: (+ + + LOVE IT)
Plushes and toys are things everybody can enjoy, I find. They simply are created to warm up our hearts so I love it when people create so many really cute and fun scenarios with characters based on toys, toys based on characters and simply add to their already existing characters by letting them play with their own personal toy collection.
I definitely like it how Plushes and other sorts of toys can be combined with all sorts of other subjects and help even to make some more innocent and cute in the end.
I don't really like it whenever people use toys for suggestive and matters to scare or treat other characters bad. If it's used in TF it also should be possible for the character to turn back. It's simply not so nice when a toy gets treated bad as well.
I like to treat even inanimate toys like a friend for the character they getting to be owned by. X3
+ + + add like costumes much to the cuteness of a character
+ + + can create lots of unique and happy memories for a character
+ simply look innocent and friendly
- suggestive and abusive usage of toys
- toy TF that isn't reversible
Wam, Goo and Quicksand: (+ + LIKE IT)
When thinking of simply fun and cute actions a child-like spirit of a furry character could do, playing with all sorts of funny substances definitely counts to me as something cute. Paint your character in different colors or pour cream, or slime on them and they get a silly and fun look. I definitely always found that sort of thing rather toony.
Imagining a character like that also can have lots of diverse and silly situations with it from a character accidently getting petrified in cement to a character being able to shower in chocolate it never stops to look silly, fantastic and unique in its own way. As long as it is something simply playful and friendly I always think it can turn ot fun.
Personally I dislike about the subject when people use too many of human and too human-like characters and try to make the subjects look suggestive.
As for goo I don't like it when itself acts like a suggestive character but like stated once I actually don't mind the stuff to act in a friendly and playful way. It definitely can create a fun method of TFing a character in many ways.
Quicksand means for me simply the effect of an overwhelming situation in which a character sinks into a substance. As long as it's treated in a toony way and the characters can get back out later then it also gets enjoyable for me. I don't like it though when people use it to distress and get rid of a character.
+ creates the feel of overwhelmth well while being playful
+ can also be combined with several ways of TF from Inflation to Fat Furs to Absorbtion and more
- when not used with characters who just play around in a friendly fashion
- when situations turn out to be dangerous or inappropriate
(I like to search for the subject since it doesn't get done that often; I'd find it fun to add more of it's friendly non-suggestive side and collab with people on it there because that often failed in the past)
The subjects can all be used in many playful ways so they can be nicely combined with many other subjects
--- I gotta add that I deeply hate it when a character is shown drowning or suffocating. It's simply a horrific thing in my eyes. I had the one or other time stumbling across it and it just makes me feel distressed not being able to help the character somehow. >_<'
Torture: (- - DON'T LIKE IT)
I don't like it. It's pretty much the same as with any other form of violence. Treating a character in a bad way to make them feel terrible simply is an awful thing I can't relate to. I heard about some people enjoying the feel of receiving and inflicting pains but to me that simply sounds terrible and I'd feel awful for creating inconvenience, even if just to a fictional character.
Okay, the probably most harmless forms of Bondage and Torture might be one character tickling an other one and that can look fun and cute but just because the character is just a little stuck or laughing. I rather call it teasing than torturing which is fine as long as the characters know the limits of their dudes.
+ just teasing without harming
- abusing and treating bad
(I only have seen the harmless form of torture so far and that just randomly because I never actively browsed it)
Is probably good combined with playful situations, maybe also something for fans of Hyper Paws
Pet Play: (- NO FAN OF IT)
That one reminds a little of the Master-Slave subject. Here one character wears a collar and acts like the pet of their master who is responsible for the pet in the same way you might think of it in real life. The master gets something to care for and cuddle while the pet is living in a loyal way with the master.
Sounds okay but personally I am no fan of that form of roleplay. I mean I prefer it when both characters can be equal and get the same rights because in some cases of Pet Play I've seen the master teaching and training the pet which seems too forced in my book.
+probably okay as long as the characters just play it and swap roles
-masters treating their pets bad
(As that collars aren't really the type of clothing I favourite I also don't really browse for that sort of RP)
Science Fiction/ Aliens/ Robots: (+ IT'S OKAY)
While it's pretty awesome what in Science Fiction can be used instead of magic as a way to change and create unique scenarios I must admit I often connected it with some sort of odd humanoid-looking aliens, flying cars and other planets. Well, Robots are surely also something you definitely could name there and all sorts of inventions that are extremely futuristic.
As while some people can create really cool looking futuristic designs on all these subjects I somehow always felt more interested in fantastic and magical stuffs. I can't deny though it is fun to imagine a character using the advanced technology side-by-side with magic.
As for Aliens, as long as they don't look too humanoid or scary I can like them the same way as other monster characters. =3
+ gives room for interesting scenarios, usage of advanced devices and cool technology
- at times scary and too realistic scenarios with focus on fighting rather adventuring and having fun
Disney: (+ + LIKE IT)
It's something I love as when people do fun "What if..." or simply fan arts based of the cool franchises all around the huge company that has so many sympathetic and fun characters.
At the same time though I don't browse and want to see these characters in any unfitting situations and a lot of the toony situations even seem at times not so fitting to some of the characters. It's simply no fun to see characters with a set plot and personality kinda forced into a scenario just because a person is a fan of the design.
The problem here is the same as with Sonic characters: Creating an own character based of a Disney franchise can be at times rather difficult unless you use characters that are just loosely based on a furry character from a cartoon instead of being based on the more important ones most people know.
Instead I prefer seeing characters just hanging out for a cool fan art or an artwork quoting the role the character played in their movie/ series.
Disney characters are meant to make people smile, I think, which is why abusing the characters is just disgusting to me.
+ memorable characters looking great when done justice in fan art
- - - characters used in an unfitting way
Food: (+ + LIKE IT)
Food is something nice to showcase what kind of meals a character prefers. In some funny scenarios it's even cool to use with TFs like the character being made of candy or simply enjoying lots of the snacks they enjoy the most.
In regard of food I need to repeat myself with saying that I deeply dislike it when characters are treated equal to food when they actually aren't food. I also have the opinion that furry characters should live in peace together and not eat eachother. For example a Cow character eating a Steak would look like cannibalism, simply wrong and more of a weird connection to reality instead of friendly and enjoyable. ^^'
+ Can add to a character and showcase their personal likes
- Furries eating meat
EDIT(because I just thought of it):
Modular: (+ IT'S OKAY)
I haven't seen much of that subject in a while which is probably why I forgot about it at first but for whoever might revisit my journal and reads all my thoughts I add them here.
Modular is also a rather toony and a bit over the top thingy. I played it even once in an RP and while it was a bit funny to imagine I think it's something that can be quite silly and cute. The concept is simply that your character's body parts act just like they can be sticked anywhere. I think the most popular modular character is Rayman with all his floating bodyparts. Another fun character I know is the Pokémon Porygon and its evolutions.
As for what I don't like is when you actually see the bones of a character if they are detached. I like when the characters just have a silly fun time and don't try to harm eachother. Just share the fun equally even if it's a prank, okay. ;3
+toony and magical fun scenes like characters switching body parts or just playing around
-Anything that involves other adult or mature scenes along with this toony subject
Tentacles: (- NO FAN OF IT)
Hehe, there is another subject that seems mostly be known for its adult usage which is the side that drags it pretty down in my personal likeness.
Really, I don't mind a friendly character with tentacles or coils to wrap itself around me lil Dile to give friendly hugs. That's actually cute. As long things stay in a playful and happy scenario I'm always okay with tentacles. Such for example fit really nicely into all sorts of ideas containing fun experiments like plants' vines or gooey creatures holding onto you to keep you from running away because maybe they are actually very nice. That's at least how I like them to be.
+friendly creatures giving hugs or playing around in a silly bondage-like way
-any form of treating the character bad
Phew, so much written and I wouldn't wonder if I missed some typos. Gotta check the text another time later yet. XD
In any way, I hope this journal gave you more insight to understand the things I do like and what not.
If you have any more questions towards me and would like to know more about my opinions I'm an open book to you and happy to reply.
+++fun, surprising and fantastic changes
+++toony and silly, lighthearted changes
I can't understand what mild innuendo is meant when you talk about it. You mean a character kissing an other one and blushing?
The main problem I got with it is that in many scenarios people treat it like if there'd be a need for predators in the Furry world which seems pretty gruesome and like cannibalism in my ears. I rather like to think of it as some sort of game activity between the Vore fans.
Also, I prefer the Furry world to be a place where everybody can live in peace with eachother without such problems that are there in the real world. I like to focus on things that seem positive mainly. <X3
Haha, I understand that but I gues it's the mix of tton + TF + Bigness and funny surprising possibilities that I enjoy about Inflation. And since it can be combined with lots of other subjects it gets always new and fresh for me. I just recently saw a pic of an Inflatable Dinosaur with lots of plastic balls inside of his timmy. Sounds like a rather fun place to land in (as long it doesn't end with the character inside to turn into more plastic balls. ^^')
I also thought of silly scenarios in which a room gets floodes with water slowly turning into an aquarium or a machine keeps spitting out balloons or bubbles. Simply all sorts of over the top and crazy things that you don't often see used are exciting with thei feel of overwhelmth. =3
That reminds me somehow that it's quite silly how some people rate a pump to the tailhole on toony characters already as mature. I find it's pretty much a toony thing, gives the character the oppurtunity even to talk while inflating so I think it's legitimate for the characters to use the rear end instead of the snout to pump themselves at.
I don't know why but that actually reminds me somewhat about the concept about a Water Type Pokémon's Watergun or other Water generating move going hiwire so that they accidently infalte with water instead of spitting it out. X3
Well, let's say, Shiny is a SFW character with toony traits to himself who often gets in all sorts of magical and silly adventures. <X3
Though I must also tell you that I can't always reply right away because of seleeping times and daily duties, Xavier. =3
Shouldn't you be at EF? Did you bring a laptop?
And it was so damn awesome! Can't wait until next year <3
Gonna upload some pics of Chibi soon :3
Used my 3DS for Twitter during the EF, browser is not useable for anything else xD
I'm just a guy obsessed with boots myself. ;w;
As for your obsession, lil Shiny loves the pair of boots you gifted to him and I am sure they fit really well to his outdoor outfit:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14012432/ <--- upper right corner =D
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13817536/
Glad you enjoy those little boots, even if only in winter! Means a lot to me! >w<
Myself, is it weird that all these themes and subjects, I feel I'm still trying to figure out? Like, it's a strange interesting world y'know? I mean, I feel like I do like and dislike these various subjects. But a part of me feels like I'm still going through some sort of experimental phase and trying to figure everything out.
I was at first surprised to see you were okay with bondage. But I read what you said, and y'know, I've never thought about bondage like that before. The thought of a character getting stuck in a funny situation IS pretty fun, haha. Though does that really classify as "bondage" though? The term "getting stuck" comes to mind more. xD
I've always loved fatness. And you explain a lot of why. ^w^ It's about the fun and funny, hehe.
Though is it weird that I tend to look at both fatness and inflation as kind of the "same"? I guess I always looked at simply as a subject of "get big", regardless of the method. Getting bigger, like you said, can be pretty fun/funny. And I guess I see fatness or any inflation as branches of "belly growing." Either way (and in different ways), you'll get huge and feel funny, and the whole situation would be hilarious.
I'm a little confused on your stance of Pokemon fighting. You say you love Mystery Dungeon, and the franchise in general. But don't all the games (even the anime) showcase Pokemon showing off their abilities as fighting moves? In the games/anime, it's like a sport, or a defense mechanism. In Mystery Dungeon, I always felt the characters were kinda like superheroes with their abilities. Fighting always seemed like a big part of the conflict in the storytelling. If you meant "fighting" as in senseless violence, I can understand.
How do you feel about characters who enjoy a good bit of sparring? Or a friendly brawl? Like, a fighting for fun? Are you okay with that at all?
I do agree with a lot of what you say in terms of Sonic. Personally though, I never felt Sonic was particularly strong when it came to character (which is fine) or plot. For me, Sonic stood out more in terms of gameplay. And in that regard, I have enjoyed a handful of his games (1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, Colors, Generations). I do like Vector as well! Though my favorite character is probably Tails (he always stood out more than the others to me). And yeah, Sonic always tried to go for that cool vibe (very 90s attitude, lol). As for serious... I always felt Sonic did better when it tried taking things more lightly and silly, rather than serious. I always felt Sonic got way too silly and self-indulgent for me to handle whenever it got too serious (which was a fair number of his games). xP
I've noticed you've brought up "human" many times as a kind of con to a lot of these subjects. I wanted to ask, do you see humans in general as any sort of welcoming identity in FA?
I can see what you mean in terms of the joys of transformation.
But the dislikes you listed for transformation made me think they'd belong and be enjoyed in epic stories. Like, a character who learns to cope with a curse, or tries to overcome it. I suppose this is perhaps a change in topic, but what do you think of storytelling like that?
I tend to approach vore in more clean ways. I guess I always saw vore as kinda like another form of a hug, if that makes sense. One being inside another, and they "hug" each other happily that way. I know it's weird of me. xD Plus, I never really think much about the more "gross" sides to the stomach and whatnot. Maybe I just don't approach vore in a realistic manner? I always looked at it as pretty cartoony.
I do love absorption though! lol. Again, I guess I see these subjects as a type of hugging. ^w^
Yeah, I'm not big into water sports either.
Though perhaps somewhat close, I do find a character in the situation of needing to pee to be kinda funny. I guess kinda like the whole "stuck in a silly situation" kind of way, if that makes sense. Nothing graphical of course.
I don't know if you feel the same way (and this is probably immature of me), but in terms of gas, fart sounds can make me giggle. They just sound funny to me ^^;
Yick, i'd keep gore away from the horror movies as well. xP Gore ain't scary. It's gross (and is sadly used too much in the horror genre). x__x
I see mind control and hypnosis as 2 different things. Hypnosis I find to be a rather neutral subject. Since it can either help people, or hurt people, depending on how it's used. Mind control on the other hand, I feel lies more along the lines of "dark sorcery."
Wam, Goo, and Quicksand is a new subject to me, but that sounds fun! O=
I think Teasing can certainly be it's own subject. =)
I think Pet Play is another form of subject which is pretty neutral, and isn't inherently a good or bad thing. It can certainly go either way. I don't think a collar always shows up in this sort of subject. I can understand how the lack of equality can turn you off. But I do think there's such a thing a Equal Pet Play. Where like, the "pet" acts like a puppy, and has similar mannerisms, and loves their "master." And the "master" enjoys the warmth and bond he/she has with their "pet." I'm not sure if what I've described would necessarily classify as Pet Play. Heck, I feel a bit iffy with calling the "master" a "master" (I feel like there should be a better word to use). But anyway, what I'm getting at is, I do feel like there are genuinely friendly sides to this subject, which do support equality, and can bring a certain kind of happiness.
Food is lovely~ ^^
That was an excellent read, Marc! It gives a lot of good material to think about. Thank you~ ^w^
Sorry about that Marc ^^;
As for other emotions, I don't ignore them and I know that there in fact are no bad forms of emotion. They are all important and it's the same way okay to cry as it is to smile. Though lets take an example of when something really sad happens like you losing somebody close to you. Would you focus on showing the character mourning and crying over it or rather show the one lost in the way you want to keep them in your memory and your heart? I simply like to rather focus on the things that make you happy even in sad times. <:3
But I can tell you there exist quite some arts of Shiny with all sorts of different expressions of emotions shown and I can tell you, whenever I see a sad Totodude I feel sorry for the lil fella and want to cheer him up. <X3
Oh, I'm still open to learn the one or other thing about everything there though I got some experiences with some of those subjects from the time I've been here now and with every new dude I meet and every subject they reveal to me it's getting more clear for me what aspects are more or less enjoyable to me. =3
Well, Bondage is sorta about restricting the movement but I guess you can have it in a way that people mix it with all sorts of things from special types of clothing to special roles set to the characters and so on. Lil Shiny simply finds it fun to play around so if one of his dudes would wrap him up like a mummy Totodile he'd surely not mind that and he already met a friendly Robotcario before who showed him about those cocoon /bodybag thingies that made him stuck for a few hours.
Yeah, that's my opinion as well. I see the whole expansion aspect is what makes them all related in their own way. I just always found it neat that there are so many ways to make a character grow and in Fat Furs it just was my only pet peeve that some people draw too much human-bits like moobs or belly buttons on characters that shouldn't have them. ^^'
I'm more of a peaceful soul so for example I don't really can enjoy arts showcasing for example two characters hitting eachother in the face or them looking hurt.
There surely isn't anything wrong with adventurers or sparring partners showing off their moves. In froendly competitions though you rather see me enjoying the characters who are cheering for their friends rather them joining the fight.
You can see that well with Shiny. He rather uses his moves for playing around with it or doing good deeds than going to a gym and training for Pokémon battle competitions.
While I like the story in adventure type RPGs I sometimes do prefer it for the characters actually to find peace and a happier lifestyle. It really depends on what the pic is showing when it comes to the subject of fighting. I only dislike the focus on violence.
Can't argue with you there. I definitely enjoyed the stories of "Sonic Adventure 2", "Sonic Heroes" and also "Sonic Unleashed" was pretty fun in my book. I also enjoyed the "Sonic X" anime(I never watched the 4 Kids version that was so much critisized).
Let's put it like that: I don't mind people just using a human character for themselves but in fashion of everything that is meant to be toony and out there with the subjects I find fun, humans simply look kinda gross to me there. Could just be me because of my disconnection to attractivity towards humans...
In any way, if people draw humans I prefer there to be just simply character art of humans like anime characters along with a furry guardian and such but nothing that tries to make a human to look out of proportion because that simply looks not cute in my opinion. ^^'
(the only human drawing style I ever found acceptable were the ones in some anime and cartoon shows. It depends on the drawing style for me there.)
I have witnessed all sorts of adventure stories which surely at times also contained curses and black magic. While I can enjoy such darker stories in video games to some degree as long as that they are exciting and entertaining enough to follow I still can say I rather like to have some simple and fun stories myself there as well. Let's say I like to avoid all the drama and depression that comes within such sort of stories. I'm that type of person who fevers along with the characters and even starts to cry when somebody you started to feel connected with doesn't make it to the end. ó_ò'
Yeah, I guess as long as things are clean it's okay. That's why for the scenarios I rather like to have the predator to be like a synthetic or toy character one. Maybe I just saw too many horrid types of Vore that made me feel intimidated by the subject. ^^'
Well, I guess it depends, really. I am not a fan of crude humor mostly but when things come off as pretty random and hillarious reactions then I get cool with even such stuff. For example "DragonBall" had always quite the silly humor with characters like Son Goku who doesn't know about how to act in front of other people or Master Roshi who is an old pervert but nontheless a good person. And even if such characters do sometimes stuff in the anime that make you go like "What?! XD" you still can't help but laughing for how much surprised you got by what they were doing.
I also tend to take such things with humor as long as people don't do things like farting with the purpose of grossing others out and to make them feel uncomfortable. So some characters simply giggling about the silly noises isn't anything I'd find a bad thing. =3
I won't argue with that either. I just simply feel sick of the sight of that subject and can't find enjoyment of seeing characters in harmed states. >_<'
Hehe, funny fact, Shiny knows how to avoid hypnosis or mind control to work. After seeing how many friendly characters were turned into disgusting or evil ones I set it as a default canon for him. I would never want him to get hypnotised unless it's something just silly and amusing or something in a "What if..." scenario that I agreed to. =3
Well, in Wam aka wet and messy I think the characters just enjoy to get dirty instead of clean from time to time and do that with all sorts of funny substances. To me it is simply something that most kids can enjoy as well and it looks funny and cute with the right characters. I still remember an episode of "Winnie the Pooh" in which Tigger and lil Roo didn't want to take a bath and instead found it more fun to play in mud which looked like a blast, haha. I have quite some arts of Shiny playing with slimy stuff already and would pretty much enjoy it for him to have more of such silly messy situations yet just for the sake of having a fun playtime. X3
As for that quicksand subject, Shiny would never be in any danger, since he's a half-toon. He can't drown and even if he disappears in some sticky stuff he always has the one or other dude who might come and get him out soon enough. I simply like it for how silly the situation seems in a non-realistic way. ;3
Oh, I'm sure there are friendly sides to a many roleplay aspects from characters playing a different gender to also the master and slave thingie. I just can't really see the enjoyment myself there yet unless it's something you desire in some way. I don't think I would like to call somebody master unless I'm joking around. <X3
As for food, yeah, it's nice. It's a fact that eating something yummy makes you happy and seeing a character enjoying a yummy dessert for example is always a sweet thing thogh I guess that also depends on if you like the same type of food like your character.
Funny enough, I already saw characters that were living food like Furs made of cake with cream on their head and other fellas who look like they came straight from Candyland which actually can be pretty cute in their designs. =3
Well you know, gotta take the bad with the good right?~ Can't be such a thing as happiness, without the sadness and whatnot to balance it out yeah?~ ^^ Making one who is feeling bleh, feel better, is always wonderful. =D
I can understand why human-like features like moobs or belly-buttons can be a pet peeve of yours.~
Myself, I tend to giggle whenever I see that. Maybe it's cause it's so silly to see a character get into such a silly situation, to "grow" that way, hehehe. xD
I myself enjoy "fighting," but am very much a peaceful guy too. I guess you could say I'm sort of like Goku from Dragon Ball if that makes sense? I guess also, action in fiction can also appeal to my angry side in wonderful ways, where I want to cheer the heroes on to succeed (kinda gives me an adrenaline rush~). And yeah, cheering is fun too! But yeah, I get you. It's better if such subjects involve some level of friendly enjoyment, rather than just blatant violence for the sake of violence (which isn't mature. It's childish).
I always found Studio Ghibli's anime film, Princess Mononoke to be very masterful in the execution of handling gore or violence (and wish more works could take note from it). Princess Mononoke has a constantly moving visual narrative. Every scene adding something to the narration. The bits which show violence or gore isn't there for senseless reasons. They tell a story. They show the brutality of the conflicts, and why it must be stopped. Even the more gruesome bits of the film are quick and minimal, giving a bit of a shocking moment of some of the brutality, while not overly focusing on it, for the sake of focusing on it. Imo, it's a very unique sense of beauty in animation, which I admire.~ And I feel really helps encourage the desire of wanting a peaceful and happy world.~
Oh I can see why people would like some of the stories in Sonic.~ I just feel they get really ridiculous and messy a lot of the times, lol. xD For me, Sonic's best story to date, would have to be Sonic Colors.
From the sounds of it, your issue seems to not necessarily have to do with specifically humans themselves, but more with the style of how they are drawn. And more often than not, humans are drawn in styles which don't quite click with you, compared to the preferences of what you normally enjoy finding on a site like FA. I believe this is what you mean?~
For me, when it comes to narration, I do expect there to be conflict, if I am to be invested in the story at all. And with the characters, I enjoy experiencing a variety of emotions with them. How the characters end up in the end... most of the stories I have enjoyed have happy hopeful endings. Some are even bittersweet. I normally don't really follow stories which are meant to end hopelessly (unless it was REALLY good). My main concern for a narrative is to finish it, feeling satisfied by the experience (even if sadness is a part of the ending). Rather than feeling like the story was upsetting or unsatisfying, if that makes sense. I feel it's all about execution really~
Hahaha, glad to hear you love the humor in Dragon Ball! I always really loved it myself! X)
Shiny has a nice power, being able to be immune to mind control. =) I should seriously introduce you to my friend Tom. Tom is my gorilla plush whom I got on the day I was born. So we've been together ever since.~ ^w^ Tom's mind is very clean and innocent. And he means a lot to me. Some of the stuff you've told me reminds me a lot of him. =D
I can definitely relate to getting stuck in the mud, and playing around in it, hehehe. I love that! xD
The dessert/candy thing sounds amusing. X3
As for stories, I can enjoy several kinds. From stuff that is practically just slice-of-life with the interesting traits of the character who you are joining in their lifestyle to fullfledged adventure stories that are set in worlds quite unique and fantastic no matter if peaceful or at struggle with terrible forces. But what I definitely can say is that I hate bad ends for any story.
Uh, is Tom a living plush, Alex? Can he move and such? Or is he a regular plush toy? I also wonder why it should be interesting to him that Shiny knows how to get immune to mind trickery. =o
Tehehe, I must admit I simply love to think for Shiny mostly about what kind of things most kids would probably enjoy and what stuff even some adults would envy kids for being able to do. That way I try to find out what can be truly enjoyable for everybody in a lighthearted way. It mustn't always be so strict nor there have to be a great amount of restrictions always. Sometimes all we want is to let our fantasy take us to the most adventurous and fun places in the things we enjoy. =D
Oh he's not particularly interested in Shiny's immunity. It's more that it kinda reminded me of Tom, who also happens to have a particularly innocent mindset, much like Shiny. =)
I agree Marc~ Such adventures are wonderful~ ^___^
And the reason why Diaper and Baby Furs are just an okay on my scale is just because there are often too many things shown in the catergory that I find not very anjoyable to look at. If you like to show me a soaked and full diaper I prefer the poofypants just having a lot of plushy layers or being soaked by water instead of body waste. ^^'
And it's not like I'd dislike the subject. I simply just see them more of a fun type of clothing for cute characters to play with. All the baby play around it isn't very interesting to me there. <X3
But yeah, I'm completely fine with it and it's understandable as to why ^^
Thanks a lot!
If you can think of more there yet or would just like to tell me more about why you enjoy certain things maybe more than me I'd feel happy to learn from your experiences, Bash. =3
Take Bondage as an example. I am not much into all the belts and gag balls or other stuffs that feel like one is trying to enslave the other one but I'm fine with overwhelming experiences where a character might get stuck yet is doing well nontheless. In Shiny's case I can think of lots of rather funny ways that make it maybe not as what some might think as kinky but rather that still does make people feel amused seeing that he's having a fun time. =3
