Got flooded, had to leave my home. Finally getting FEMA process rolling. Not actually sure the extent of damage, haven't had the time to look. Still trying to get everything to dry in there. Using all the fans hat I have, and my dehumidifier. Accepting most any help I can get. I miss you all desperately. <3

I am sorry that you got flooded. Yeah, I continuously monitor NOAA and yeah, sometimes Mother Nature isn't nice.

True that. I just wish she'd stop picking on me! This is flood number three that's tried for me, and the second one that's actually managed to hit me. (The first one was less than a block from my door when it stopped rising).

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I try to bright side though, at least I was able to recover after a few years, each time. :)

~hugs the momma dragon ~ Sorry to hear that, hon, but at least it didn't take a Biblical plague for FEMA to help.

They didn't help us, they just came and inspected the place. I'm sure they helped the middle class and the rich, just like they did the last time I got flooded out of my house, over a decade ago. :/

Well shit. And here I thought they had actually changed.

Hopefully they do, and I don't have to be one of the ones 'reaping the benifit' of their changing. The place is now molded, we need to do more repairs than before the flood, And my mother lost her only form of income, leaving us to survive on my income alone. It's just too much all at once. :/

Didn't get any help. Fema told me where to shove it. :(

Because I was living in the garage, and not the main house, it wasn't considered a 'primary residence', even though I was actively remodeling it in order to turn it into something that looks like a house on the inside, while I was living in it.

Ooof. Do you own the house or rent? All the drywall that go wet will have to be replaced or else you'll have mold.

We own. There is mold.

UGH. That's a mess to have to remediate.

Yes, I know. I'm really not looking forward to it. I still haven't had the time to do anything with it, since my mother lost her only form of income, and I'm supporting her as well. No extra money for supplies, protective gear, etc. :/
