Signed. The whole concept is ridiculous. The last time a candidate won the popular vote but lost thanks to the electoral college, we had 8 years of Bush!
It's as effective as gerrymandering. It works to the advantage of the party, but doesn't represent the people the way our government was meant to. It's the same reason we'll never have a third party candidate win the election!
The state I live in (Illinois) is historically a blue state, but outside of the Chicago area (also where I live) is by and large conservative, rural and Republican. Even though I'm glad our state wasn't given to Trump I know that if it was up to the voters in the rest of the state it would've been. The people who don't vote were right this time around- our votes don't matter. And we have the electoral college to thank for that.

Do keep in mind that popular vote doesn't really mean too much. Anything electronic can be hacked, and paper votes can be rigged. Yes, Hillary won the popular vote, but we don't know if it was truly the American People's wishes to vote for Clinton, or if votes were rigged.

The only reason I bring this up is because I had a couple of friends tell me that the machines they used didn't let you vote for Trump. Literally, pressing the button for Trump did nothing, whilst Clinton votes would let them get through. Not saying that the whole election was rigged like this, but if there were more machines like this, there'd be quite a few votes that were meant for Trump going to Clinton.

I'm sorry, but this will do nothing. Back in 2000, Gore won the popular vote but lost the electoral one. That's just how America works until the college is updated or reformed.
