No cons for Leo in 2017?
OK, well, thinking out loud here... time for a bit of an update, lest this page get too stagnant with the glaring lack of submissions.
I've been thinking a lot about my convention plans for 2017. I did have them. But FurThe'More kind of snuck up on me this year; I knew it'd be in the springtime, but that was a long time away and... now it's one month away. Made no plans, now it's a bit late for that. But considering a number of factors, I may not be making it to any furry conventions this year. Really need the money for funding something else, for someone else, for them to be able to seize an opportunity this summer. Also, Leostarr still exists as only a partial, which is starting to feel lame to me. Now don't get me wrong, I like partial suits, in fact most of the partials I've seen are done very well, but I've been doing this one now for the past 5 years, and it's always the same old thing, and really needs more. I still give Snap two paw thumbs up for making my head so good-looking, but I'm ready for a fullsuit to go with it. I've had the material to make it for years now but have not figured out how to make it the way I want it yet. Designing things sucks. So I might not attend another con until I have the fullsuit... when I go to a con I want to bring something to contribute, you know, something new to show off.
I am attending two other non-furry conventions this year, so I need money for those (can't go to everything). For one, I'll be at the Central PA Comic Con this Sunday (April 2) with Kaya Cheetah... I'll have the Leostarr partial with me, but may or may not cosplay with it, depends on the atmosphere and activities. I did wear it last year, and it was a pretty decent hit. Original characters seem to bother people at Sci-Fi/Anime/Comic Cons though for some reason; they want to see characters cosplayed from TV or movies that they know... if I had the fullsuit, I'd cosplay as Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia, but I don't think the partial is going to look right for that. This con is easy for me to attend because it's local and no hotel stay is involved, so is inexpensive.
If any, the one furry con I am going to shoot for this year is the New Year's Furry Ball. No guarantees, but we will see. Sorry to say, as for the rest, I won't be attending FurThe'More, Anthrocon, or FA:U in 2017. I will miss them. But there's always next year.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, last year there was a BC4C group photo on the stairs in the pool area. I don't believe I ever saw those pictures. Do you know whatever happened to those?
I'm attempting to make a partial. I have the head 95% done. Just need to install a screen in the mouth. It's for the Fairie Festival. I went to it last year as the pi-rat but it didn't seem to fit in well. This year I want to do a fairy tale based outfit of the Frog Prince. That's close, right? :D
Wishing you success on your partial! Hmm, I would have thought the PI-Rat would have been great at the festival, especially with the elaborate costume and the sword. I've never been to that, a coworker was showing me pics and telling me about it and I was interested until I found out how much the parking and admission was. Not sure Leostarr would fit in there either. Hope they appreciate your new frog prince partial!
But cons and the Fairy Festival will always be around in one form or another. If you miss a year, no big deal. I skipped a few before myself.
Are you making the body?
Not sure which I will get to, FTM plans didn't work out, no room, might try to go on Saturday, back problems currently have me unable to make plans for anything at the moment, FAU may go 1 or 2 days, if I can.
Yes, I am making the body myself. No small task for a picky perfectionistic person such as myself.
Sorry to hear, hope your back feels better!
Made my body with a hand cranked 1906 singer, I patterned mine off a pair of pants and a shirt or sweater, didn't feel like making duck tape dummy, didn't want tight or form fitting, was gaming weight at the time too. I planned on a front zipper, but tried as 2 piece after seeing how 2 pieces blended together on the pile, and kept it that way, no one hasn't really noticed. I ended up using the zipper to fix a jacket.
Had also considered zipper around waist to hold top to bottom but didnt bother since it seems to work for me how I have it.
I'd love to go to a bunch of cons this year but really do have to carefully watch my expenditures here. Maybe next year I can do more. But, last minute change of plans today- I will be going to FTM after all (it's next weekend). So I will at least make it to this con this year!
Wishing you the best with your pursuits- the YouTube thing has my curiosity.
