Oh my god, this is the most hilarious thing I've heard recently. I actually had to do a double take on things to see if I was reading things right. And the fact that things pretty much reverted to how they were before.
Along with how FA wasn't supposed to be taking donations anymore now, but instead people are to be goaded into purchasing a subscription service now. And if you end up buying into that, I don't care who you are, you're an idiot....and looking into it more now, because I thought it was something else, I forgot that it's been a thing for almost a year now. So yeah, either way, you're an idiot if you're throwing money at the site.
This site has always been a nightmare and is only as popular as it is because it's been around for so long and is so large, not because it's run well. Far as I ever saw things never improved while it was owned by imvu and now that 'neer owns it again, things will just be shit once again. He's never been trustworthy and never had anyone's best interests in mind. I've seen countless times where lies were thrown about or people weren't helped because someone popular was involved. I mean hell, look at some of the people that have been on the main admin list for years.
I'm just almost speechless over this. I think also from the stupidity of buying back the site either way. Because it could have even been sold to someone originally that would have done things better, but no.
If imvu owning the site wasn't the beginning of the end, then this surely is.

This website isn't held up for free. You're using this website to write this journal to bash it. You know you could've taken your services elsewhere, but here you are. I'm just saying, you're being a little bit of a hypocrite in those regards.
The point of buying back the site was so the control over the site remains in the fandom and doesn't fall on investors who may one day go "This isn't a worthy investment anymore". It's financial freedom.
And you're another 'ship jumper' in that regard of "If this wasn't the beginning of the end this is". Honey, no. They've been saying that since the ORIGINAL founder stepped down. That was over a decade ago (And then some).
Everything is fine. If you don't like the site, you can always go somewhere else. But some of us furs will gladly support a site we enjoy. Even if it's not the best it could be, sometimes that's just how things are.
And a reminder. You can always go to Ink Bunny, Furry Network, Weasyl, So Furry, etc. But you won't. You'll stay here. You'll complain. And nothing good will come of it... And you'll advocate against supporting this site, you refuse to leave... in trying to sabotage the same services you're using. I've seen it many times.
Just chill? Okay? This doesn't harm you. This doesn't harm anyone. Why does it bother you? You can choose not to pay them. But bills are bills, sites don't magically maintain themselves.
