Maria stares at me for a moment before sighing and shaking her head.

“I understand what you’re saying, but that’s not for you to decide. I had long ago decided that I was with you till the end and there is nothing you can do to tell me otherwise. I’ve already been with you fighting Rocket once and I have no qualms about doing it again. I don’t care about the consequences. I will follow you on this journey to the ends of the earth if need be and don’t care about any consequences of such.”

To further illustrate the point she goes to where my harness is and opens up the pocket where she had previously put her ball in preparation for tonight. She then goes into another room and pulls out a tiny little backpack and puts the ball inside that instead.

“I don’t care what you think of me or what you want, I’m coming with and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. With this, even if you ditched your harness I’d still be able to follow as my ball will stay near me. And as a pokemon you can’t order me to do anything.”

My head tilts to the side. I still consider it in her best interest to not come along, but I’d be lying if the thought of her by my side during this wouldn’t be at least a little bit of comfort.

“You know, I could just dash away and leave you behind. There’s no way you can keep up with me if I went all out and you don’t know where I’m going.”

“True, but I know you better than that to think you’d ever do it.”
