Why not crack out a guitar or keyboard and try making something? That seems like it could be fun and way more personal, it's up to you though.

I'm not really a DND/TTRPG besides having played BG3, but... If I were to find a theme song... First I would ask myself... Does said theme need to be an instrumental? Or a song with lyrics, once I decided that.. I would make decide on certain elements I liked the idea of of, is it melodic..? Is it fast..? What lyrical content does it have, if it has any at all? And I would make a playlist of songs... and then there's plenty of ways you could narrow it down, you could create a scoring system, you could rate each song.. just spit ballin'...

If I had any musical skill I'd for sure try to apply that skill right now :P

Those are some good directions actually. I'll see how to use them in my searching ^^ I've mostly just been going through lists of music from different things that come to mind and it's not worked all that well sofar.

I tend to actively think about what I type and pay attention to whether or not I actually type it or my fingers fumble on the keyboard and I butcher my words. Also, since I barely get to write in proper English these days it helps keep me on my toes to spell words correctly as I've forgotten many correct spellings over these last few years XD

Producing music, let alone a song, is really hard I imagine. Coming up with the beat, the melody and all that. And then also have to think of good lyrics for a song, I wouldn't manage that in a million years XD He's done a few pieces now so I am real impressed by that.

What sort of person do you mean? It's really not a lot of time out of your life unless you play very often. (Or if you are the DM, then it takes soooo much time of your life)

For me? I tend to type as if I were talking and let my consciousness guide my fingers, but the problem with that method is, that I'm not actively checking what I've put, so as a result, sometimes when I look back at what I've put, it's not always accurate, but it's usually less so spelling errors, but more so I've written something twice, in the wrong order or not included a word in general. It's usually not a massive issue when it comes to friends, since like in this case you were able to piece together what I meant, but for emails and stuff... More troublesome, I usually reread what I've put as well as ask my partner to read it and let me know if there's something I need to adjust. ^^;

You do not need to worry at all you carry yourself with grace and if I didn't know I'd just assume I were speaking to a native English speaker, luckily Germanic languages are quite similar to English, it's sort of cool, I still need to try and focus of course, but I appreciate the similarities.

It's fun enough, it just takes a lot of time, since as you said, you've to consider all those elements. So unless I force myself to sit down and only focus on that task... Yeah... It's very involved and takes time, if you're interested you should try one time, it can be quite rewarding, I'm not gonna say you'll get a hit album out of it, but.. At least a nice little song you can take pride in knowing you made by yourself, you also don't necessarily need music theory to do so, I mean... It helps! Sure... But it's not absolutely key, I mean... If you ever have any questions or where to start, I don't mind trying to help and of course YouTube has lots of tutorials and there's a lot of free software, if it's not of interest that's fine too. : )

OH NO DX please erase those from your mind lol, in terms of music more broadly though, mostly covers, having said that I had 'completed' and uploaded 2 original songs, just instrumentals, but I was proud of them at the time.

It's not necessarily not knowing how per say... but more so social battery and people having different... rhythms when it comes to talking frequency, I have a lot of free time, but that's not always the case for others, so I benefit from knowing where I stand with a person and their schedule, whether they talk every few days, every few months or even longer, y'know? Which... I don't mind, so long as I know, but I wouldn't blame anyone for getting the wrong idea, if they were unfamiliar with how someone operates, y'know?

Related to what I said above I just don't have the social battery, plus I have to be mindful of my partner who has quite high anxiety like myself and given that and other people needing it to work for them and having reliable partners.. I just don't think it would work, maybe one day? But it's definitely not on the cards anytime soon.

There's a lot of great stuff you can take from show/game soundtracks! What is your character like? I bet I could recommend a bunch :P

I'm looking for music for two characters.
- An young Rogue Jerbeen (A Jerboa-esque little guy), that's trying to become more good after escaping the pirates he was kidnapped and raised by.
He's picked up a bully-ish demeanour as a pirate, but really he's a softy who now wants to earn respect the right way.

In a not too gritty setting. (In the Humblewood game setting)

and

- A Paladin raccoon Shifter (and yes, he is ;P) that is devoted to uncovering and sharing knowledge that the world government is actively suppressing and marring him in finding and spreading.
He's friendly, inquisitive, optimistic and persistent but also no nonsense and calculative in battle.

Also a not too gritty setting, but a more savage world

Hope you're able to find something fitting :) I recommend looking through the soundtracks of any Supergiant Games' stuff - Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and Hades all have incredible scores with lots of really good TTRPG music! Also, Arcane Anthems makes some great stuff specifically for TTRPG settings! Also, consider trying the Omori soundtrack if you want to get really unique with it.

Game and anime soundtracks are often how I find them. JRPG's are usually my go-to, as are Undertale/Deltarune remixes/AU themes. Also Homestuck actually has *really good* music no matter what you think about the IP itself.
