2017 ==> 2018
7 years ago
2017 started out normal. Can't report I had any significant accomplishments this past year, other than playing music in the Talent Show at FA:U, which went reasonably well. Made it to two furry conventions, FTM in April, and FA:U in August, which I enjoyed very much. Things started changing as Fall approached. Company I work for was bought out in September, so not sure what the future holds there. A month later my mother died in October, and I'm still in the midst of the estate stuff- will be glad when this is over. So some extreme change brought a twist to the end of 2017 for me.
Christmas was wonderful. I love it so much, the music and lights and decorations, and memories from long ago. I was so involved with the holiday spirit that I went offline from about December 23 until after New Years. Got some nice presents including a really cool new camera, a little figure of Everest from Paw Patrol, too much candy (stocking was overflowing), a nice zip up sweater, Xmas socks, and a DVD of the movie Princess Mononoke (which we just saw last weekend). I love this holiday very much, but it burned me out this year (I'm actually sick right now, finally succumbed this week). Hoping I'll be well enough to go to the local meet this weekend.
As I head into 2018, I once again hope this will be the year I can get a bodysuit fabricated for my lion. I think I've about got it figured out. Just this past week I've had a sudden necessary home improvement expense hit costing thousands, which will take years to pay off. I had hoped to maybe commission a head for one of my other characters, but not sure how soon that's going to happen with this financial setback. With what this is costing me, I could commission about 3 new fullsuits from a high grade maker. Anyway. Going to shoot for 4 conventions this year: Furthe'more, Anthrocon, FA:U, and maybe the New Years Furry Ball. Wishing all my furry friends here (and myself as well) a happy new 2018. May it be a good one!

I hope to see you at FtM this year, if I can make it. I know what you mean about unexpected home expenses, I’ve got a big one going on now that may keep me from going.
Hope you start feeling better soon.
I try to fend off these home things as long as I can, but this one had to be done. I will look for you at FTM as I'm still planning on going.
Do you think you'd want a fursuit body or a lighter and perhaps cheaper option?
*hugs*
Sorry to hear you were ill over the holidays. I'm glad you were still able to enjoy it a little and catch some of the holiday spirit.
I'm going to say a full fursuit body, though I've never tried one on before. I'm really not sure what to expect heat-wise. I actually already have all the fur material for the full suit. My partial isn't bad, but definitely could use some improvement. Maybe I should revisit a 3/4 design before I make the fullsuit plunge... is that what you were referring to as a lighter option?
What I meant was more like the velour bodysuit, like what I wear for Kate Coyle. Light, no padding, cheaper, comfy, and easy to get on and off. Full suits are fun, but I find it's nice to have a light costume too.
Hope this year we can again. *hugs*
Also hope that things smooth out for you.
