Happy New Year! (I am still here)...

2020... The roller coaster from Hell...
It has been a year of extremes. I have to endure suffering and loss this year. From getting Covid in March, which nearly killed me. I am still having minor lasting effects from the illness. There has been my mothers mental decline (due to age). I have lost friends to death. There has been material break downs (my car died, there was a fire at the farm, my studio computer fried loosing years of art work and work notes). There has been dozens of minor incidents that just add weight to the year (like the canceling of conventions). Then there has been the depression of both the isolation from my friends and the recovery from Covid. Lets not forget the anxiety of just going out to get groceries. Covid was so bad for me, it has left me shell shocked. I do not want it again.
Its has not been all suffering. There has been great things to! At the end of 2019 I won a large drawing for a complete collection of paint (1600 worth, 351 colors). In February 2020, I had a piece of art purchased by a small museum for permanent display. I became a stable hand at a Pony/Horse farm. I help manage 10 poines, and 6 horses. They have changed my life! I can honestly say I am a better, more grounded person as a result. Plus, they have helped me endure the isolation of the pandemic. I got a 3d Resin Printer and a copy of Zbrush (3D printing is utter magic!). I have rediscovered my love and passions of miniature painting/sculpting hobby from my youth. I received a gift from the world famous artist/sculptor, Julie Guthrie. Not to mention my network of artist contacts has expanded (outside Furry). I entered an art/hobby competition and was top presenter in ALL categories!
It has been a roller-coaster of a year.
My resolutions for this year of 2021:
-Clear my backlog of commissions.
-Try and stay more in contact with the rest of the world (i.e. being more active here on FA).
-Enter at least one work of art into a competition.
And that's it really.
Happy New Year to all of you! <3

Glad your ok despite the roughness that many of us have faced. To many friends long gone both in and out of the fandom.
Glad you are finding new things. Perhaps we can see some of your miniature work here?
Best of luck with the competition and the new year.
I might share some of my hobby work here. Thus far not a lot of furry related stuff. We will see.

If it counts for anything, I'm glad to hear from you! Your last journal was 7 months ago but about a specific art piece; this is the first time I read you talk about what the year was and what you want it to be, and what a year it's been! Whew!
I'll just say here I'm glad you made it out.
Here's one for you and to a better new year, !
May you have a great year to! :)
aye, on to a slightly improving 2021. and maybe it has a warranty and we can get our money back if it doesn't work, who knows...
Thank you for the well wishes. <3
May 2021 be a great one for you!

It has been a wonder experience, and helped me survive the loneliness of the current times. You could say they saved my life even. <3
